You are so kind Asking. I think I come across as a bit arsey at times despite being one of those people who is a doormat bit too nice for their own good IRL.
I spotted the Bethan because I have a thing about Welsh names and I get shot down in Baby names for my opinions.
gist being if you have to correct people on how they say your name it's a PITA and people generally don't like being corrected.

I have quite a thick skin, but I definitely remember if e.g. Joanna corrects me calling her Joanne or Jo.

Flowers for AskingQATT for being the TA maven.Star

Thank you, MUM!

More for next week's spoilers:

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 26th - 29th October
Toby and Rex Fairbrother, sons of that cad Robin, have carried on the family tradition of stirring up all kinds of trouble among the Archer clan. Toby, lackadaisical when it comes to farming and fathering, has joined forces with the more reliable Rex to add to the rows already raging under the Brookfield eaves.
While this ding-dong goes on, Ambridge’s blabbermouthed radio star, Susan, seeks a bit of tranquillity with her daughter-in-law, Alice; things must be very bad indeed in Ambridge if those two seek each other our for solace.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 24/10/2020 14:03

out for solace, dammit

ppeatfruit · 24/10/2020 14:11

Thanks Asking RL has intervened ,I will catch up on Sunday.

MikeUniformMike · 24/10/2020 14:17

Ooh. Thanks Asking.

TherapistInATabard · 26/10/2020 14:34

Ugh, far too much Brookfield this week!

ppeatfruit · 27/10/2020 09:17

I was getting excited at the BIG change in Brookfield, maybe they were going organic ?? Pip would surely be up for that. But majoring on cattle, (also why would you stop growing the arable to feed them?? ) gives the SWs a reason for arguing among the siblings, something unusual fgs.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 31/10/2020 13:04

And for next week (checks dates thoroughly) (double-checks dates)

BBC One-Liners

03 Nov Disaster strikes at Brookfield and Kirsty opens up.
04 Nov Gavin finds himself in a lie and Eddie is forced to make a deal.
05 Nov Freddie gets advice and Kirsty has good news.

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 2nd - 5th November 2020
No prizes for guessing who’s offering guidance to Freddie with the Christmas show. Yes, it’s the doyenne of Ambridge am-dram, Lynda, who is doing her best to steer her successor in the right direction. Lily, too, is helping her brother to come up with ideas. But will Freddie take their words of wisdom on board? Or will the fate of the production be left hanging in the balance?
Eddie’s obsession with finding riches at Brookfield gets him into trouble and he’s forced to think on his feet.
Kirsty, meanwhile, opens up to Shula and gets some much-needed advice on Gavin. Philip, though, has other plans for his son and is determined to keep their secret. But will Gavin stand up to his dad?

#################################
If it is Eddie who is supposed to have smashed a padlock instead of climbing a gate and leaving no sign of his having been there, the editor has forgotten Eddie's poaching past.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 31/10/2020 14:15

And the one I forgot:

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 2nd - 5th November 2020
Dreams of buried treasure, buried under the green swards of Ambridge, haunt Eddie. Could the long-lost Grundy fortune lie beneath the cricket pitch? Is some mole - jauntily wearing the Grundy ducal crown - burrowing right now beneath Lakey Hill? Gold fever haunts Eddie’s nights, and could land him in some very hot water.
While Eddie chases his dream, Freddie has his own vision to pursue - the Christmas show. Its success hangs in the balance, but the young heir to Lower Loxley may be too proud to accept much-needed advice.
While all this is going on, Kirsty seeks advice from Shula about Gavin, while Gavin himself wonders whether the time has come to stand up to his father.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 31/10/2020 14:47

You do realise that a day will come on which I get it all right, and all on the same page

and then the world will come to an end.

ppeatfruit · 31/10/2020 15:14

I don't mind Asking Thanks by the way. I hope I talk for everyone when I say we're just pleased someone takes on the onerous (and boring task) of spoiling TA for us!!!!

Though at the moment I reckon it seems to be doing it for itself! The predictability of the plotlines is getting beyond a joke.

MikeUniformMike · 01/11/2020 16:28

Thanks Asking. Looks like a good week.

MoonJelly · 02/11/2020 17:01

I'd like it if Kirsty's good news is something that means she must stay in Ambridge, thus scuppering Phil's plans for running away from the consequences of his crimes.

MikeUniformMike · 02/11/2020 20:29

The cast list includes Shula!

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 06/11/2020 11:51

Because of Trump, this week has both lagged and fled. I'll do this now in case I forget again!

It’s Ruairi’s 18th birthday and Ben and the Aldridges are determined to give him a day to remember. The trouble is, Ruairi ends up making a discovery that throws the plan into chaos, all of which leads to Brian losing control and Jennifer facing ghosts from the past.
Predictably, Lynda has spotted a problem when it comes to encouraging participants for the Christmas show. But will her scheme to fix the flaw be successful?
Jazzer takes Johnny under his wing in order to teach him the art of romance; Kirsty admits the truth about her future plans to Helen; Alice has some advice to offer; and one Ambridge resident reveals a personal secret …

MikeUniformMike · 06/11/2020 12:13

Thanks Asking.
My guess is that Ruairi has been given a DNA test for his 18th and decides to get matched with his half-siblings, only to find that Hate or Malice is not Brian's.

MikeUniformMike · 06/11/2020 12:18

one Ambridge resident reveals a personal secret

Jenny admitting that Alice is Debbie's full sister.
Jazzer admitting he's not that good at romance
Alice that she drank excessively before finding out she was upduiffed
Helen admits that Lee has been put in the farm shop cereal cupboard.

A Pipless week. Hurrah!

ppeatfruit · 06/11/2020 13:05

Thank you Asking .

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 06/11/2020 18:10

Sounds like a good week! Thanks, Asking.

(Of course, we've all been duped and disappointed before, but let's be optimistic.)

BoreOfWhabylon · 06/11/2020 23:44

Thanks Asking

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 07/11/2020 13:40

This has a rather different emphasis from the BBC one, I feel:

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 9th-12th November 2020
Ambridgers have, over the years, thrown themselves enthusiastically into creating new generations of villagers by any and every means possible. Brian, being a bit old-school, included adultery as part of his effort to keep the Ambridge population rising - and now, Ruairi is 18. How the years have flown! Jennifer, who has been a saint about Brian’s betrayal, does her best to give Ruairi a proper celebration, but a shocking discovery puts a real damper on the day.
Elsewhere, Alice proffers advice, a personal secret is revealed, Kirsty owns up about her plans, and Johnny puts his foot in it: these, however, will be just minor matters compared with what will be revealed up at the Aldridges’.

BoreOfWhabylon · 07/11/2020 13:52

Oooh!

Are we going to find out that Brine isn't Ruaruaruariiii's father after all?

MikeUniformMike · 07/11/2020 13:54

That would be cheating us. Maybe there are several Baspofalds.

BoreOfWhabylon · 07/11/2020 13:56

Oh, I'm sure there are, Mike Grin
