Hot tub. She and Moany Tony's sex pond.

Oh, the trailers...

PersephonePromotesEquanimity · 28/09/2020 10:06

Did anyone hear the 'trailer' on R4 after the omnibus?

I've heard two this morning - the second ramping up the pressure considerably. I don't think it's necessarily desperation, ppeat - they usually only do this when there's Something Very Big coming. Shock

In this case concerning slave drivers and the younger Mrs Carter ...

I'm stupidly excited!

MikeUniformMike · 28/09/2020 10:07

Sorry, brain not in gear this morning.

I meant She and Moany Tony will be frolicking in it soon mark my words.

IalwayswantedtobeBeth · 28/09/2020 10:46

This is standard Archers writing, isn't it? Unlike many "soaps" they can build up the story and interweave the different threads over a very long period of time.

Alice, for instance, is leaning quite hard (mentally) on Gav. For whatever reasons, she is very fragile at the moment. How will she react when we have the denouement of the modern slavery thread and she has to look at her own judgement - again? The same applies to Kirsty. Kirsty has shown strength in the past but ...

I really like the way we see Philip justifying what he is doing. Good people can behave badly/wickedly and he would surely be doing a lot of justifying.

I'm glad we have more characters but I did love the monologues. I must have justified the behaviour of many people on their own during lockdown Grin

Thank you all who put the "spoilers" on. It improves the programme for me but great it's on a separate thread.

ppeatfruit · 28/09/2020 10:57

Do you know Perseph I don't remember them doing it before Blush And I'm as old as TA!!! Well Iam getting old of course.

I will MARK your words Mike But I reckon Tony might be getting on a bit for the excitement of rumpy pumpy with a much younger woman and in an unenvironmentally friendly hot tub too Shock . It might finish him off. Maybe THAT'S the tragedy Grin [ grin]

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 28/09/2020 11:17

Before they pushed Nigel off the roof R4 had so many trailers about it that it was embarrassing.

MikeUniformMike · 28/09/2020 11:19

@ppeatfruit Grin

I think a steamy sex pond scene with those two is unlikely.

ppeatfruit · 28/09/2020 14:46

Grin I'm trying to remember if Tony's had a heart attack. I do remember he was injured by a bull.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 28/09/2020 14:59

He had a heart attack and had a stent fitted.

ppeatfruit · 28/09/2020 15:03

Yes I thought he had, thanks Asking.

MikeUniformMike · 30/09/2020 20:20

So tomorrow night will be nought-y milkman stories.

BoreOfWhabylon · 01/10/2020 09:04

Belated thanks to Asking for all the updates Star

Actress called Saffron Coomber Is in it soon. Anyone know who she plays?

PersephonePromotesEquanimity · 01/10/2020 09:17

"Counsellor: Saffron Coomber" according to the cast list. And the other two are Alice and Chris.

Interesting ...

ppeatfruit · 01/10/2020 10:22

Mmmm Perse Marriage counsellor perhaps.....

Alice was speaking to someone on the phone about her pregnancy, before telling Chris. wasn't she? I don't reckon she wants the baby at all and is frightened of telling him.

PersephonePromotesEquanimity · 01/10/2020 10:24

Yes, it's the pregnancy choices counsellor Alice has already spoken to on the phone.

ppeatfruit · 02/10/2020 09:24

The CA talked about the BAD advice from Lilian about pregnancy, I wonder if she'll miscarry and then feel guilty.

Though the way Alice has been drinking before she knew (because she was too out of it to take the pill efficiently) it could well be a baby with problems if she goes through with it.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 03/10/2020 15:50

Radio Times Ambridge Diary 5th-8th October 2020
The showdown of the week comes when Jennifer calls Susan a “shock jock” after she hears Radio Carter’s latest piece. How will Ambridge’s answer to Howard Stern react to Jennifer’s rage?
At Brookfield, Jill’s birthday yields a surprise that could have everlasting repercussions. In one corner, Ben is keen to take advantage, but in the other, there’s mum Ruth, who’s advocating extreme caution. So, will this discovery bring good fortune or be a poisoned chalice?
Fallon, meanwhile, is on a desperate search and fears for the future of one village resident, while Jazzer has a windfall - only for a spanner to be thrown in the works.

Daily Mail Weekend Magazine Archers Update 5th - 8th October 2020
The alliance between the Horrobins and the Aldridges, forged by the marriage, has never been an easy one - and now, Jennifer has a great big bone to pick with Susan. During the radio broadcasts, Susan is prone to oversharing and Jennifer accuses her of being a shock jock. The two matriarchs seem all set for a ding dong, but then find that a far bigger problem is heading their way.
Meanwhile, Dame Fortune shows her deceiving face to both Ben and Jazzer, and Alistair finds himself drawn towards Lady Luck.
Jill gets a surprise on her birthday, Fallon is in turmoil, and one Ambridger has to make an emotional confession.

I don't much like there being a Medical Advisor in the cast, really.

MikeUniformMike · 03/10/2020 19:30

Don't tell me, Jill finds some old toy racing car of David's in the loft and he decides to move the family to Monaco.

Thanks Asking

The medical advisor might be re. Chrysalis.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 03/10/2020 19:40

That's why I don't like it; spells trouble.

MollyButton · 04/10/2020 07:38

Keri Davies tweeted something that indicated that they are definitely going to cover some aspect of Foetal Alcohol syndrome.

I also think the surprise for Jill is going to be something from that display of old photos that the family are doing. It has been mentioned on more than one occasion, and has good possibilities for long lost secrets to emerge.

PersephonePromotesEquanimity · 04/10/2020 07:47

Oh! What was it Susan said on her radio show - something about Jill's memory of her father? It seemed really random at the time but yes, sounds like they were setting up a family revelation. Hope that was earlier this week, so we'll hear it again this morning.

D'you have his exact words, Molly? (Twitter and I have parted company ...)

ppeatfruit · 04/10/2020 10:40

That's exactly what I was thinking Molly . Can they tell in early scans?

Yes Perse I'm only on MN, no other SM for me IMO takes too much time up and encourages paranoia.

MikeUniformMike · 04/10/2020 11:01

Not until birth apparently, but the drinking is likely to cause a miscarriage.

ppeatfruit · 04/10/2020 11:19

Thanks Mike T'would be better for the family if the latter occured. IMO.
