All views on The Archers welcome here! New blood welcomed. We don't all agree on all points and most of us are posting tongue in cheek a lot of the time, so don't worry about revealing that you'd like to share a camomile tea with Kate, or other unusual views.

I don't think this thread will get us to Easter, but we should be well into Lent before we need a new title. I wonder if St Stephen's will have a new oh-so-interesting Lent initiative this year. When did we last hear from Alan?

I don't think Kate ever got going with goat yoga - she was softening up Brian for the cost of some course in the USA which included goat yoga, and then Kirsty swam in the Am with dead fish.

I want to take my bald since aged 22 (some 20 odd years ago) but really sexy husband round to bridge farm for a chat with Johnny..... (though maybe I’ll stop him from wearing the ‘it’s not a bald patch, it’s a solar panel for a sex machine’ T-Shirt he got given on his stag weekend 😂😱 (And keeps despite my best efforts to Use it as a dish rag...

My DH has a good head of hair, but I know some very attractive men who are bald. As long as you are not fat as well ....

If I recall correctly, CMR wears a naff unfashionable leather jacket that Freddie found in Lily's car.

Depends on the style. Biker jackets are always in, blouson style, not so much!

Freddie thought it was unfashionable but that's all we have to go on really.

I do hope Lynda doesn't go shooting her mouth off, without making every effort to establish the true facts.

My first ever episode of archers

Very moved by Kate's storyline.

Can anyone recommend a thread/article as an intro to archers?

Precise of current characters and storylines etc?

The website is good Graphista as it has a rundown of characters. I was actually sad for Kate and she is not my favourite character at all.

I’d suggest diving into the BBC Archers website. I’ve linked the page on Kate (there is an actress photo which I hope won’t disrupt your imagining) but you can go from there to a full list of characters and articles on ... stuff.

Wiki is reasonably thorough too.

And, if you have masses of time, dipping into some of the previous 114 instalments of this thread is generally entertaining.

There are one or two story archive websites - others here will be better able to direct you to them. At least one is capable of swallowing your entire weekend.

I was surprised at how good the Kate actress was at conveying an emotion that Kate hasn't shown/been required to show.

The Josh/Ben convo made me laugh as the Ben actor has a more adult voice that his older brother.

Kate is a delusion, egotistical, selfish monster. I am so pleased she is not pregnant. She's already abandoned 2 lots of children without so much as a backward glance. She is a rubbish mother who should never have had children as she has shown herself incapable of putting other people's needs before her own. For all her talk of spirituality etc she just an entitled, selfish person with a complete lack of self-awareness; a waste of space.

I laughed when she was blubbing to Yakult about the baby and how wonderful it would have been. She probably said the same things to get all her previous babies' fathers. I wonder how long it would have taken for her and Yakult relationship to break down under the strain of bringing up a baby.

That's a tall order; it's been going nearly 70 years! It's all about Dan Archer's descendants - we're on to the fifth generation.
But we're lovely, ask us anything we like showing off our knowledge.

Two fake SLs in two weeks. The non-steroid and the non-pregnancy story. And the sly laughing at Jacob as a potential father. What a load of nonsense, sorry.
