Archers

We're still here and still discussing TA (The Archers). We welcome newcomers and old hands, so if you have a question or a point of view, please dive in. No spoilers - if you've seen info on future storylines, there's a separate Radio Addicts thread for that.

I loved all the name changes on the last thread. Don't forget to change back! (If you want to).

Who's going to get Russ out of LL? Freddie? Lily? Elizabeth? Or is it Freddie who will head off?

I assume you’re collecting him and bringing him back to Ambridge, George?

GeorgeTheBleeder · 29/03/2019 18:30

Absolutely. In my head.

In rl I'm waiting for a grocery delivery which is certain to arrive at 1 minute past 7pm.

DadDadDad · 29/03/2019 18:49

Does anyone remember that Friday night a year ago when Nic died, and I later posted how I had been sitting outside a house to collect my son, and at 7:13pm he came out and said I was invited in. So, I had no choice and to add insult, the mum of the house had TA playing and switched it off when I walked in! Shock I had to wait some time to find out what had happened.

I don't want to miss Freddie's return, so I'm going to get in the car now and hopefully be uninterrupted as I drive home.

What's that? Over-what? over-in...? don't know what you're saying. Grin

Bloody hell George, have you not set off yet.

tillytrotter1 · 29/03/2019 18:58

Worked out how to record on the V box!

Abra1de · 29/03/2019 19:15

He sounds ... perky.

GeorgeTheBleeder · 29/03/2019 19:17

Cowed and subdued ...

Grin

Billion BOOPS for his lovely voice back.

BlueCowWonders · 29/03/2019 19:18

Fatality on the Felpersham bypass?

BlueCowWonders · 29/03/2019 19:18

Far too perky!

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 29/03/2019 19:20

Natasha is very odd. I thought Tom would have had to hide those nice new knives after last night Shock She's being weirdly quiescent Hmm

I loved Freddie driving them home from prison! How wonderful it must have felt for him!

Yes, I'm over-infested, but I don't care.

Freddie's back - YAY!!

Nightmanagerfan · 29/03/2019 19:22

Freddie is by far one of the best actors on the show - I am so glad he’s back! Hopefully he can bring a bit of a distraction to Lower Loxley’s current negative state.

R4 · 29/03/2019 19:23

How lovely to hear Freddie again.Smile
I hope he doesn't crash and burn - literally or figuratively.

Pleeease let Freddie have the Easter Bunny costume.

MikeUniformMike · 29/03/2019 19:40

Good old Freddie. Welcome home!

GeorgeTheBleeder · 29/03/2019 19:43

He sounded wild though. Not ... repentant.

DadDadDad · 29/03/2019 19:44

Pleeease let Freddie have the Easter Bunny costume.

Oh my goodness, don't need a crystal ball to see the mix-up potential! Lily saying something indiscreet to Russ not realising it's Freddie inside the costume...Shock

Agree Freddie didn't sound repentant, possibly the wrong time and place to expect it. He is so not going to be thrilled about the prospect of CMR being around. While I'm on the topic of that whining git, he felt "abandoned" while the others went to pick up thread. A grown man voicing such a thing to a neighbour. He's certainly letting others get the measure of him.

I reckon Freddie could well stay at LL, and the alcohol licence be turned down again because of it, causing more musical chairs on the residence front.

SenoritaViva · 29/03/2019 20:16

I loved ‘Freddie’s back!’. He sounded gleeful and I was expecting ‘damaged goods’ which he may well be but I think they’ll do it slowly and cleverly.
I’m also enjoying (but saddened) by Lizzie’s favouritism. I have a narcissistic brother who is obscene to my parents, I tie the line and whilst I’m not loved less it sometimes leaves me astounded with what he gets away with. So interesting.

DadDadDad · 29/03/2019 20:30

It's the contrast between Freddie and Lizzie. He should be the one subdued and even traumatised by his experience, maybe forcing himself to appear normal, when in reality it's Lizzie who has become a shell putting on a brittle air of happiness that may not last. (Tribute to great acting all round).

Lily isn't going to ditch CAR is she? She really is quite dim.

thislido · 29/03/2019 20:36

I seem to remember Freddie was repentant some while back. I think it’s fair enough now that he’s just pleased to be out!

LassOfFyvie · 29/03/2019 20:43

I'm really, really bored of the Pargetters.

InvisibleLlamaBurningCamel · 29/03/2019 21:09

Did anyone else wonder if the continuity announcer is perhaps following this thread?

DadDadDad · 29/03/2019 21:12

Remind us what the CA said. Also, anyone catch Natasha referring to Radio Carter?! Shock

OP posts:
thislido · 29/03/2019 21:26

Yes to both! CA kicked off with “Freddie’s coming home”.

InvisibleLlamaBurningCamel · 29/03/2019 21:28

Yes to DDD and ThisLido... spooky??
