Well hasn’t it been a fun few years! Thank you all for supporting the threads and sharing in love and critique of The Archers.

Now I'm worrying about Ruby and that kale smoothie. After Ben's dog and the Christmas cake.

BikingBeatrix · 05/03/2019 20:42

I’ve tried and failed to change my name - still can’t recall password, have tried several versions of what I think/thought it was right. But I love everyone else’s changes and it’s lovely to see Pseudo back. A last thought on name change - Is it possible to sign into MN, ie create a new account, on a different email add? I thought it wasn’t but I’ve heard people saying they’ve done that recently. Or maybe I misunderstood Grin?

BikingBeatrix · 05/03/2019 20:45

Oh lala, !
Zut alors, I don’t know why that question mark crept in.

BikingBeatrix · 05/03/2019 20:51

Not sure why these punctuation marks keep creeping in but I’ll stop now.

Btw those having doubts about the rape scene, if you listen to the start of the next episode you’ll hear Helen the next morning, sobbing, clearly distressed. There was also mention of marks on her wrists that looked like someone had been holding her down. It was Tom who discussed them - but I can’t recall when or who with. Possibly later, after Custardgate, with Kirsty?

thislidofullofdeadfish · 05/03/2019 21:03

Yes you can create a new account with a different email address - they won’t know it’s you!

Surely there is a reset password link though? Log out and when you try to sign back in say that you’ve forgotten your password (suspect this is not something to try with the app).

Dumdedumdedum · 05/03/2019 21:03

BikingBeatrix, you can change your password if you've forgotten it when you log in by getting an email sent to your log-in email address. And then after that, you can change your name (possibly to TheVillageBike, in memory of the late lamented Caroline, who should never have been called that, of course!).

DavidDavidDavid · 05/03/2019 21:11

So what's going to happen with the imminent wedding? I assume it's going to happen, as they've already done the late change of mind story with Tom.

Are Natasha and Tom going to be happily married, given his sister has already done the grim marriage story?

thislidofullofdeadfish · 05/03/2019 21:19

No. Tom is making another one of his periodic desperate grasps at ‘succeeding’ in life and Natasha is very recently out of a long term relationship.

RadioCarter · 05/03/2019 21:45

I can see Tom and Natasha being unhappily married. She never seems to be there, she is always off chasing the next order. She will have an affair with the recent-ex and Tom will have an affair with Hannah. They will have a can't live with you / can't live without you thing that will go on for many painful years.
They will be the next generation's Brine&JD or Lillian&Matt.

RadioCarter · 05/03/2019 21:52

I've just remembered: don't they do some sort of due diligence at the Registry Office? Check that you know personal details about each other, to make sure that it's not a Green Card wedding. It would be pretty embarrassing (but funny) if they failed the 'test' and it was the Registrar that called off the wedding.

DavidDavidDavid · 05/03/2019 21:57

Surely, Radio, that's only something immigration authorities do in situations where one of the people getting married doesn't have UK citizenship.

I know the break-up of the UK is probably a risk in the next few years (that crystal ball is positively murky on that point), but for now Welsh people are free to live in Borsetshire...

RadioCarter · 05/03/2019 22:10

Nope. Relative is getting married in the summer, Registrar is coming out to the hotel venue. They (both as British as you can be) have been told they will have (separate, obvs) pre-nup interviews.

birdsdestiny · 05/03/2019 22:12

They definitely didn't test me when I got married!
I liked Hannah the other day, I suppose if she is going to hang around they have to make her vaguely likeable at times. But why is she in love with Tom, what is it about his personality she could possibly like? He must have a hidden talentEnvy

thislidofullofdeadfish · 05/03/2019 22:14

They do separate pre-nup interviews but it’s to check you’re not being coerced, not to see if you know each other (in cases where there is nothing to be gained citizenship wise).

ScruffGin · 05/03/2019 22:16

Hopefully my name change in honour of this thread has worked... Grin

RadioCarter · 05/03/2019 22:17

not to see if you know each other
Oh.Sad I was looking forward to the Registrar stopping proceedings.Grin

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 05/03/2019 22:22

Hello all. Congratulations on the 100 threads 😊

Am on maternity leave at last so hoping to be a more regular contributor.

Can’t stand Natasha and I get a bad feeling about Ed’s new mate/boss but I hope that’s just me feeling that it’s too good to be true for him rather than a genuine reason!

BikingBeatrix · 05/03/2019 22:29

I’m afraid I had to rush off to eat pancakes - in a house with lots of men you really have to grab the chance when you get it! Good news is I’ve managed to change my password. I might come back as someone else later.

On Tom, one thing I feel he’ll fail at is fidelity. He’s got not a great track record really and they’re asking for trouble house sharing with Hannah.

Catmint · 05/03/2019 22:29

Lurker here, popping in to congratulate & thank you all for the threads.

I haven't name changed, I'm pretty sure I'm in an Ambridge cottage garden or two.

I once went to the house of the original Archers producer, Tony Shryane. There was a huge map of Ambridge on the wall.

BikingBeatrix · 05/03/2019 22:31

I was thinking, yep dangerous trend, is this the first wedding not to take place in Ambridge? Apart from the I of W fiasco at any rate.

RadioCarter · 05/03/2019 22:32

Ed was suitably suspicious of Justin today. I hope that he would also be able to sniff out if Tim was a bad 'un, but it maybe that he is blinded by the fact that Tim was an introduction by his mentor Oliver.

BikingBeatrix · 05/03/2019 22:34

Actually Kenton’s two weddings happened away from Ambridge, I think - definitely the Antipodean one but the marriage to Jolene was a registry office wedding too?

RadioCarter · 05/03/2019 22:34

the first wedding not to take place in Ambridge?
Are you forgetting Vegas?

BikingBeatrix · 05/03/2019 22:35

I’ve been hoping, for once, Ed won’t be a gullible fool.

thislidofullofdeadfish · 05/03/2019 22:35

I thought Ed’s comments today were posturing, brought on by copying Tim. They seemed out of character to me. And also a bit pointless, presumably they knew they layout of the house they are buying already?
