As Frilly stress Lizzy out, did the SWs forget her heart defect? Will there be long term llama drama karma in The Archers?

the social class boundaries in TA are impenetrable.

Chris and Alice?

But yeah, no way Helen and William. Nice moment of supportive sympathy from Helen though.

I think Tom's rubbish because he's too enthusiastic bird he see's the potential of all these awesome ideas and then tries to do them all, rather than doing one thing well. He's an ideas man, which is great but he needs balancing out by someone who hates change. Successful businesses often have 1 person trying to do too much and one person who hates change and spending money. Grin

I know Elizabeth seems like she's gone mad allowing Russ in but, after losing Nigel, it must be horrid to think of the twins leaving home even in a relatively normal way. Lily stopped talking to her once already over this and went to house sit. Freddie's facing prison. If she doesn't keep Lily onside she's in for a very lonely time. (She is anyway but I think keeping close is understandable and wise.)
Bet she gets blamed by Lily for whatever Kenton does though.

Re class barriers there was Roy and Kate too. Although I assume the attraction for Kate was partly to annoy her parents because of the class difference.

I can't imagine either of Kate and Roy being quite as spineless as Elizabeth if Phoebe had been having an affair with a teacher.

And yet - Helen’s last but one partner was a previous Estate gamekeeper. So much fine balancing to be done ... Greg was clearly not cut from the same cloth as Will, even though they follow the same occupation.

With Chris and Alice - well, Chris was an emerging, but highly regarded, independent craftsman when they married. Which is a different position to being one of the servant class, as Will is. Pfft!

Agree, of course, about the lovely Johnny. Only hope incoming editors see him in the same mythic terms as we do.

actualpuffins · 07/09/2018 14:50

Yeah, Will and Helen. Make it so!

Gruach · 07/09/2018 14:53

Lord - what a weight of sorrow they’d bring to their shared life.

Think of the (existing) children ...

Make it not so!

birdsdestiny · 07/09/2018 14:55

I dont really think of Chris as a real character anymoreGrin. Roy appears to appeal to the upper class women of TA, but not for the long term.

Gruach · 07/09/2018 15:03

I prefer to believe that Mike and Betty’s natural aristocracy must have rubbed off on their son than that Kate and Elizabeth fancied themselves as Lady Chatterley.

Speaking of the servant class - why was Brian (instructed by a woefully ignorant SW) trying to give the impression that Jenny, Jenny Shock was doing all the cleaning preparatory to the house viewings? As. if.

ErrolTheDragon · 07/09/2018 15:12

I suppose it might be quite fun if Helen and Will were having a fling just at the point when (it's got to be when, not if) Rob shows up again.

actualpuffins · 07/09/2018 15:14

Lord - what a weight of sorrow they’d bring to their shared life

A right old whinge fest. Would put even Shula and Alistair in the shade.

Picking up from birdsdestiny's comment from Tuesday about Henry and ADHD, do we think that Tom is undiagnosed ADHD and it runs in the family?

ErrolTheDragon · 07/09/2018 15:48

Nah, he's just a prat.

MrsBertBibby · 07/09/2018 18:59

Will and Helen. Make it so!

Christ. You sick bastard!

newtlover · 07/09/2018 19:05

who's that on the phone Russ?
the college?
mummy and daddy?
the hysterical Lara?

DadDadDad · 07/09/2018 19:05

Who thinks it's the college calling wondering why Russ hasn't turned up for work?

newtlover · 07/09/2018 19:06

snap!

DadDadDad · 07/09/2018 19:09

Bingo!

newtlover · 07/09/2018 19:11

those old fuddy-duddies at the college, could ruin a chap's weekend

DadDadDad · 07/09/2018 19:14

What?! Helen made a joke?

LassWiADelicateAir · 07/09/2018 19:15

Well that is a corker of an episode.

Can Russ get any more ghastly?
Can any more of Lily's brain cells stop functioning?

Double boop for the Freddy actor- beautifully acted and natural sounding.

And as for Helen - Olympic grade grudge holding. Really - get over it.

newtlover · 07/09/2018 19:15

......is Lily starting to wake up?

Gruach · 07/09/2018 19:15

So is Lily paying the whole flat deposit?

And now ... What a selfish bastard he is!

EBearhug · 07/09/2018 19:16

Listen to your gut (and us), Lily! Run hard!

LassWiADelicateAir · 07/09/2018 19:17

Oh ffs - I'm an artist blah blah blah.

Yes he can get worse.

Run Lily, as fast as you can
