Ambridge is in the doldrums. When will Pip pop? Does anybody even care? And Anisha’s off, leaving Rex in the (pig) trough? Discuss the Archers here.

Sorry about the title, nothing particularly inspiring in the storylines currently Sad

No spoilers please, there’s a thread for that.

Thanks for the new thread!

BertrandRussell · 27/06/2018 10:47

Yes, I liked Anisha’s “almost as good as a boy”ness.

Surely she can’t just walk away from the partnership?

WoodenCat · 27/06/2018 11:18

Thanks for he new thread!

I know nothing about how business partnerships work (much like the SWs perhaps) but surely Anisha can’t just walk away? She is a partner until she’s sold her partnership interest in the business? And you’d think there’d be some protection in their contract that no partner can sell to just anyone regardless of experience. She must be stuck until she can find another equine vet to buy her out.

Gruach · 27/06/2018 11:20

Excellent. Thanks Pseudo!

EBearhug · 27/06/2018 11:21

There is always the gap between what would happen in a real legal situation and what will happen in Ambridge...

TessDailyMail · 27/06/2018 11:30

.

BoreOfWhabylon · 27/06/2018 11:50

Thanks Pseudo. I wonder how many more of SOC's improvements are to be rolled back?

Bekabeech · 27/06/2018 13:04

I really really really hope Rex goes with Anisha (and I think he will, Neil wants his pigs back). Because then we don't get the brothers fighting over Pip - which is a tedious and already done story.
I would like to see the back of Justin. And as much as I hate Martin Gibson - he could actually be a good "hate" character - or at least has to stick around to get his just deserts - I still haven't forgiven him for how he treated Kathy (although he seemed a lot less powerful then).

DadDadDad · 27/06/2018 14:13

Thanks for the new thread, Pseudo. Thread 90! StarArchersStar

Doldrums is the word: very slow posting on the last thread, but for a bit of perspective it seems we always slow down in June / July. Hopefully, things will pick up after the summer.

I'm not far from Newmarket, so I shall look out for Anisha and Rex wandering by. We recently had the Cereals event again nearby - that brought back memories of when Brian and Adam went along to it.

Bibesia · 27/06/2018 15:16

Anisha did say something about Alistair having first refusal on her share of the business, so there must be something in the agreement dealing with what happens if one partner wants to leave. Goodness knows how she thought he was going to manage that when he'd taken on all that debt for the expansion, though.

TessDailyMail · 27/06/2018 15:26

Does Anisha have any responsibility for the debt? £250k springs to mind. Is it easy to find an equine vet to take her place? If we were allowed to use bad language on this thread, I'd say she was an utter shit for the way she's treating Alistair.

MikeUniformMike · 27/06/2018 15:47

I so hope that Kate is in pup.

TigerTeatimes · 27/06/2018 15:53

Thanks for the new thread!

Don't want to keep being negative but very cross with Anisha for stitching Alistair up, especially given the debt. Poor show on her part.

PseudoBadger · 27/06/2018 16:20

Can anyone remind me - is Doc Locke still around?

OP posts:
Minimammoth · 27/06/2018 16:58

Blatant place marking, I need to catch up.

LillianGish · 27/06/2018 17:34

Really don't understand what they are thinking with Anisha. She has not long been introduced with a huge fanfare, but then disappeared for ages - to the extent that she appeared to have been reduced to the role of a silent character. Now apparently she is leaving. Can't believe she and Alistair wouldn't have shared the cost of improvements to the practice - not at all sure how realistic it is that someone who has just bought into a business would move on so quickly. What happened to Latif? I don't care if Rex goes with her for not - I've never really believed in their relationship or in the Fairbrethren in general. I'm finding it all a bit silly - the fall of the House of Aldridge, the end of Alistair and Shula and now possibly the end of his business, Will's unbelievable custody battle - it feels like drama for the sake of it with an unwillingness to follow anything up properly.

BoreOfWhabylon · 27/06/2018 17:52

Pseudo We haven't been told that he's not, so presumably he's still hanging around Lizzie. Surprised Smugula hasn't flung herself at him yet.

HatingTheBigShow · 27/06/2018 19:03

Josh has a delivery? Oh god no. No man wants to see his sister's nether regions.

HatingTheBigShow · 27/06/2018 19:03

Oh thank god for that. As you were.

Fink · 27/06/2018 19:13

What did Martin Gibson do to Kathy, I can't remember that at all?

I hope Dr Locke reappears, I quite liked him.

Man, Brian is awful. What a nasty man.

MikeUniformMike · 27/06/2018 19:16

Kathy was bullied by Martin Gibson who wanted to give her job to someone else.

Fink · 27/06/2018 19:19

What job was she doing at the time? I don't remember her doing anything for BL.

BolleauxtoBankers · 27/06/2018 19:34

Kathy was managing the Golf Club bar, wasn't she? And Martin Gibson was overall manager of the club, I think - I'm not sure it was anything to do with BL?

BolleauxtoBankers · 27/06/2018 19:38

I think someone said, towards the end of the last thread, that the reason these storylines have turned so messy is because there have been 3 editors in quick succession. I agree. No continuity of thought, situation, or character since they abandoned the Rolodex files.

PrincessFiorimonde · 27/06/2018 19:59

Thanks for the new thread, Pseudo.

Near the end of the last thread, Gasp0de mentioned Nightingale Farm. Does anyone know who Mrs A (the dog lady) did leave it to when she died? Some remote and never previously mentioned cousin, perhaps? And who lives there now?
