Thanks to all for the dog ideas, and special mention to Ppeatfruit.

PS. I generally like Rex and Toby as characters these days and am glad they were introduced. I always think of them looking like these two who had a cookery show on Channel 4 that I liked.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 23/06/2018 11:43

I was baffled by that scene, too. It was obviously important because I also thought Josh getting him to tell Anisha was unrealistic.

Gruach · 23/06/2018 13:14

Goodness - that’s an astonishingly accurate photo Jessie! Pretty much exactly as I imagine them. Toby in front? Rex might possibly be a little fairer and stockier in my imagination.

JessieMcJessie · 23/06/2018 13:22

Yes I’d have said Toby in front Gruach. Grin

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 23/06/2018 15:31

Nice picture, but it's not how I see them. I have a fairly clear idea of what Rex looks like, and it doesn't seem to be based on a real person, or no one I can bring to mind, anyway, but this is Toby for me, and if he did look like that it would explain a good deal. Grin

If Shula really boycotted bellringing practice because Usha was going to be there, that was extraordinarily petty and hypocritical of her.

Gruach · 24/06/2018 10:28

Ok, listening again - Anisha is ‘off’ while Rex is talking about Pip & baby ...

I get it now.

Gruach · 24/06/2018 10:34

And a BOOP for Anisha’s mention of the Bechdel test.

In fact, possibly one of TA’s better points. Millions of female conversations not about a man. (Unless the man is the dad who owns the land!)

MrsArthurShappey · 24/06/2018 11:33

I think Anisha and Rex have a pretty good, healthy relationship. But it seems that josh and pip have planted a seed of doubt in Rex’s mind. It did bother him that Anisha didn’t care about wotsername running after him at the party didn’t it? To me, that’s the sign of a strong confident woman trusting her fella (and realising it was all one sided), not the sign of a woman who doesn’t care about what he gets up to. I hope that’s the thought behind it, anyway.

Gruach · 24/06/2018 13:49

Twitter is talking about the fact (?) that Jill was brought up by an aunt and didn’t know her parents ...

I don’t remember. Might the aunt have had the brooch from Jill’s mother?

KitchenFloor · 24/06/2018 14:28

I can totally see Kate pregnant, she did a whole "I'm a fantastic person to be your surrogate" monologue to Adam when she found out they were looking.

KitchenFloor · 24/06/2018 14:30

And as for the one night stands... MrKF & I have had unprotected sex 3 times and we have 2 children.

campion · 24/06/2018 16:24

I think Anisha's off to pastures new.

She's never bedded in as a character anyway.

It's all a bit tedious at the moment.

SaffyRosie · 24/06/2018 19:05

Completely agree, Kate and Toby are a waste of space. And Will is thick and obnoxious.

SaffyRosie · 24/06/2018 19:10

Kate has never done a days hard work in her life. She's a waste of space; a sponger, an absolutely awful mother, totally self-centered, selfish and delusional.
And she never learns.

HatingTheBigShow · 24/06/2018 19:17

Fuck, Phoebe is totally pregnant. Cue dropping out of Oxford and juggling baby and managing hippy woo courses for her useless mother. Why can't any Ambridge woman ace school, study and have a fulfilling career?

Gruach · 24/06/2018 19:22

Adam and Ian will be spoilt for choice ...

SaffyRosie · 24/06/2018 19:29

Just been catching up, listening gto Kate giving Usha a massage. Totally unprofessional, yacking away like that about her problems. People go for massage to relax and generally want silence.

I really never believed the story line that Kate could run a successful business, certainly not without a heavy subsidy from the bank of mummy and daddy.

I can't believe that Phoebe is pandering to her.

SaffyRosie · 24/06/2018 19:33

Hehe! What's this I'm hearing, Usha telling Kate that she's may have a legal case.totally out of character.

WHO are they using to write these rubbish scripts and creating these stupid storylines.

C8H10N4O2 · 24/06/2018 20:06

Usha telling Kate that she's may have a legal case.totally out of character.

I thought she said more that Kate should get legal advice (which she should have done before signing the agreement and certainly should now).

It may not give her a solution but getting legal advice over a contract or partnership agreement would seem common sense.

Bibesia · 24/06/2018 23:32

Where on earth is the evidence that Phoebe is pregnant?

echt · 25/06/2018 00:18

I don't think she is, just lazy SWs' option with women.

I bet they have a spreadsheet with all replacement characters highlighted so they can be siloed like Ben in the cereal cupboard and Ruaridh in his boarding school to be brought to life as and when.

Gruach · 25/06/2018 06:57

It really is extraordinary how little we’ve heard of Ben (never mind from him) during his GCSE year. Do we know what’s next for him? A’ levels? Or a vocational course in Cereal Studies?

Ruairi (born 14 November 2002) will have to be given a tongue soon. GCSEs in the coming year, a future to plan. I wonder if they have a clear idea yet of how to differentiate him from the fabulously fraught Freddie.

BertrandRussell · 25/06/2018 07:03

Easy. R will have an Irish accent!

BoreOfWhabylon · 25/06/2018 09:53

I'm sure he will Bertrand. Despite the fact that he was raised mostly in Germany before living in Ambridge and then being shunted off to public school.

It was bizarre that they gave him the accent in the first place.
