Thanks to all for the dog ideas, and special mention to Ppeatfruit.

Oh come on R4 A lot of children change their minds about what they like, maybe the PE teacher was a shxx at Jake's primary (or at his secondary school) .

As for Will trying to bond with him (in Rob like fashion) over cricket that is ridiculous. Jake ASKED him.

LillianGish · 14/05/2018 14:08

I thought what was interesting about that episode was that Jake didn’t want to be singled out for special, attention and whisked off on his own for an expensive day out he just wanted to hang out in Ambridge and do Ambridge things with the rest of the family. Will is unable to see that what Jake values costs nothing and requires no special effort - he’s in danger of trying too hard and driving Jake away with his attempts to win him over.

ppeatfruit · 14/05/2018 14:23

That's true Lilian but at least Will is listening to him.

Gruach · 14/05/2018 14:25

I liked Justin and Brian’s banter and their scurrying away from the Vicar. It is, I’m afraid, exactly the sort of childish behaviour I’m likely to indulge in if dragged to church for other than aesthetic reasons. Blush

But I need Usha back right now to chase Shula away from Alan.

ppeatfruit · 14/05/2018 14:36

Or Alan away from Shula? He's just being supportive but Shules, being Shules, will probably take it the wrong way!

PrincessFiorimonde · 14/05/2018 15:50

Thanks for the new thread, Pseudo (and for the title, ppeatfruit)!

TigerTeatimes · 14/05/2018 16:34

Another great title Smile

ppeatfruit · 14/05/2018 16:34

Princess It was very much a joint effort with Psuedo majoring!

birdsdestiny · 14/05/2018 17:53

I am wondering if Pat will cause some type of disaster with olwyn - disclosing her location to an abusive ex by accident or under the guide of 'helping'

birdsdestiny · 14/05/2018 17:54

Guise not guide Confused

HatingTheBigShow · 14/05/2018 19:28

I want Pat to have her wrist felt by PC Burns for harassment. Olwyn could not have made it any clearer to her.
And what a surprise, Freddie is a complete moron yet again. I hope Ellis does a better job with the next brick.

LillianGish · 14/05/2018 20:21

Lots of stories in the Sunday papers this week about 'County Lines' drug dealing - which is apparently city gangs getting local kids to distribute drugs in the countryside. When I read about this I wondered if the Freddie drugs storyline was intended to highlight this phenomenon.

TigerTeatimes · 14/05/2018 20:37

Unqualified Olwyn for live in housekeeper come Nanny for Will perhaps?

Its not charity for Olwyn because she'd be doing Will a favour - also think Will could do big fat stint of firey awkward feminist in his life. Grin

HatingTheBigShow · 14/05/2018 21:42

Goodness, those poor children have suffered enough! I nominate Lexi.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 14/05/2018 23:00

I wouldn't have thought Freddie is a typical target for 'county lines' type exploitation, and nor is Ambridge. I'm wondering if cannabis farming is more his thing. All those attics...

GnotherGnu · 15/05/2018 00:01

I've just noticed that Nancy Banks-Smith doesn't seem to have written anything on TA since November. That doesn't sound good.

TigerTeatimes · 15/05/2018 08:18

*I nominate Lexi
*
Lexi is the nanny those children deserve, Olwyn is the influence Will needs, but yes those poor children. They have suffered enough.

Bekabeech · 15/05/2018 08:44

I wondered about Tracey Horrobin - she is good at organising (did well with her Dad and brother when she moved back), has kids, and could stand up to Will.

ppeatfruit · 15/05/2018 09:45

Tracey Horrobin!!!!!! Nannying , is she a nanny?

Halsall · 15/05/2018 12:09

Who’d pay for Lexi to be a nanny to Will’s brood, though? There clearly isn’t enough money to go round and idiot Will is splurging what little he has got on trying to buy Jake’s affections.

TeenTimesTwo · 15/05/2018 12:36

Will owns a house though (the one with Tom, Johnny and Hannah), so will be taking in rent from that, as well as his income from his job. The house comes with the job, so I think Will has quite a good income and lowish outgoings. Will just doesn't have the emotional intelligence to know what to do.

I think Jake and Mia should live with their Dad, but do ad hoc visits to Will & the Grundys.

ADarkandStormyKnight · 15/05/2018 12:40

Will still needs to look after Poppy, who has lost her mum and is now going to lose Jake and Mia. I really feel for her.

Gruach · 15/05/2018 19:08

Oh, this is hilarious! Grin

I do love Jenny and Brian!

Gruach · 15/05/2018 19:10

Wow. Shock

Gruach · 15/05/2018 19:12

B R A V O to the Scriptwriter.

Utterly magnificent.
