Loving Rob's belief that he will get his deposit back and refuse to allow her to deduct anything. We'll see Rob..

ErrolTheDragon · 20/11/2016 11:24

Thatsnot yeah, there was one of his expressive noises wasn't there? (Bloody good radio actor. Much as I'd like to see the back of Mr Titchener, they'll surely want to keep him as long as possible)

high ceilings = flat in multi-occupied large victorian terrace? Some of those are very nice, others less so (remembering student days).

Geretrude · 20/11/2016 11:54

But the deposit isn't only his is it? I don't think he can really object given he's stolen all Helen's money.

Incidentally, I thought Jolene and Kenton were on the bones of their arses. How are they going off on luxury spa breaks?

Vango · 20/11/2016 12:04

The deposit is his Gertrude. Helen moved in with him long after he'd set up home there and his finances were at the time mixed up with Jess's. Presumably that was all sorted out in his divorce from J.

I was very surprised at David's very generous response to Kenton's luxury break after all the grief Kenton gave him following the non-sale of Brookfield. Didn't the family collectively bail K&J out subsequently?

Geretrude · 20/11/2016 12:09

Oh so she did Vango! Completely forgot.

Yea, if I were David I might have been a little more lukewarm about K splashing the cash

Vango · 20/11/2016 12:13

Although technically, now they're married, his money is hers I guess. I know nothing about divorce and financial settlements but it strikes me that Helen has much more to lose than Rob. Doesn't she co-own the shop/café? I know they weren't married for long but he will probably argue that he helped set the shop up and was employed as the manager. Could Helen end up having to pay him a big settlement?

ErrolTheDragon · 20/11/2016 12:39

The Ambridge instant prosperity fairy has visited Kenton, in the unlikely guise of Wayne.

enochroot · 20/11/2016 12:41

Could Helen end up having to pay him a big settlement?

I think he'll try!

Presumably shareholder = part owner? I'm talking about the new shop/café. Do we know how the shares are divided now that P&T are drawing a pension from the farm?

Thanks Francis, but, simply put, could Helen not appear to be wealthier than Rob (as we know him) right now?

And do the 4 shareholders of 'the firm' really not own the assets?

mummytime · 20/11/2016 16:03

It was also a very short marriage, even if Rob was rolling in it Helen wouldn't get much except to support the boy(s).

EBearhug · 20/11/2016 16:33

Could the fact that Rob probably coerced Helen into marriage have anything effect on the settlement? I suppose it would depend on her making a complaint to the police, but if she were to do so, would that reduce his claim? Or is it just the short duration of the marriage which might play its part?

Franciscrawford I don't imagine Jess needed much supporting by Rob when she was not working during her father's illness as she was living with her parents. When she came to Ambridge I think she had found a new social work job in the area.

As to him not buying a home ten years ago though, if he had been in the US and Canada all that time it is very difficult to get a mortgage from a U.K. Bank when you are not UK-resident, even if you are a U.K. citizen. I know this from personal experience having bought in the U.K when living in Hong Kong. It limits possible lenders to only 1 or 2 and you need a much bigger deposit.

JessieMcJessie · 20/11/2016 17:41

PS I too was amazed at how quickly Kenton and Jolene had gone from destitute and having to rely on the family to buy a TV for the pub to able to splash on luxury breaks. Their lack of loney was a huge storyline for ages. Wayne selling a few posh sarnies surely can't have turned things around that quickly?

Sign of intelligence? For a one month old maybe.

Could They splash out on some baby noises?

Vango · 20/11/2016 19:16

Thanks Francis. Looks like corporate law will work in Helen's favour then. Hurrah for that.

Liked Pip's comment about David's reaction to Kenton's splurge. Much more true to life. Though I really struggle to listen to her with all the oddly placed pauses.

Three cheers too for the Psychologist. What are the chances the Family Court will agree?

GrumpyOldBag · 20/11/2016 19:17

well I don't really give a fuck about the mob grazing.

but that psychologist's report was dynamite.

GrumpyOldBag · 20/11/2016 19:18

Has Rob been given a copy of the psychologist's report yet?

Surely he should get a copy at the same time as Helen?

SealSong · 20/11/2016 19:18

Ooh I would LOVE to read that Psychologist's report!

selsigfach · 20/11/2016 19:19

I wonder who was calling Bridge Farm...an outraged Rob refusing to let them limit his access?
