Pip is on to Toby. She just can't cope with loosing face. No support for her 'big day' , no cooking done even though he is not working, she knows he s a knob.

WouldHave · 18/11/2016 19:40

Is the BHC tenancy in the names of Rob and Helen? It would be fun if Shula returns the deposit to Helen.

TheAntiBoop · 18/11/2016 20:00

He was in before Helen so I should imagine it's just in robs name

Mootsie · 18/11/2016 20:12

Hopefully Kenton will warn David about the illegal still at Rickyards and Toby will get his marching orders.

WouldHave · 18/11/2016 20:15

It was quite funny that Rob was trying to make out to Ursula that Usha had given in in response to his manly assertiveness when it's obvious she did nothing of the sort.

And also, she's just not renewing his AST, rather than evicting him. Although, perhaps that's a moot point, because one thing he's right about is that it's because he's a rapey abusive arse, although he's translating that to "victim of an unfair village conspiracy against him".

Fink · 18/11/2016 20:55

And apparently she's getting two weeks' rent to which she's not entitled because he's choosing to leave early. Yeah, not like it's perfectly normal to have to pay until the actual end of the tenancy (says the woman who once had to pay double rent for 4 months).

Although I disagree, Francis, that being in Rob's position makes one unsuccessful. Being Rob clearly makes one unsuccessful but I don't think his objective circumstances re. job vs. age are terrible.

PuppetInParadize · 18/11/2016 21:49

As Jess said in court, poor misunderstood Robert had to keep changing jobs. All he ever did was love these wimmin - and look what they've done to him. But it's all going to be hunky dory when he gets his dear boys back from the most recent hellwoman and her ghastly family. Smile

Trojanhorsebox · 18/11/2016 23:13

yes, the three bed roomed spacious apartment with the lovely high ceilings as described by Ursula - plenty of room for when he gets his boys back......how can he afford that, deposits etc? I know he emptied the joint account but they were living on only Helen's salary for long enough and his sick pay must have stopped a while ago. He was also buying jewellery for Helen, hunting - so not a frugal lifestyle, people speculated ages ago he'd spent all of Peggy's wedding present money. I had more of a grotty bedsit in mind for him.

He admitted leaving Usha's place in a bit of a state as he wasn't going to clean it for her after the way she treated him. She's a solicitor so I imagine the tenancy agreement was pretty clear as to how it should be left - I hope she does her inspection and bills him for professional cleaners - I hope Emma Grundy gets the job if she wants it.

TheAntiBoop · 18/11/2016 23:16

Doesn't sound like an executive apartment to me!

Money only ever seems to be an issue in the Grundy house. Everyone else clearly have money trees.

maggiso · 19/11/2016 09:55

Rob wanting his deposit back pronto suggested he needs the money - as most people would. Perhaps Ursula is also helping out.

redshoeblueshoe · 19/11/2016 11:28

I thought Rob was more mid 40's. I hope the entire deposit is used for cleaning, replacing the rug etc. Robs not mentioned maintenance, but I would have thought he would have to provide for Henry as well as Jackeon, that would send his blood pressure sky high Grin

Another reason why Rob's Land Manager job is so ridiculous. I know it's just a plot device and there seems to be plenty of consequences - Brian's relationship with Adam, Justin's relationship with Lillian, revealing Rob's delusions and manipulations more widely- but it still jars.

It's decades since I last applied for a mortgage but I think the 'rules' are even tighter now. Would he need a reference from his last employer? Bridge Farm is hardly likely to give him a glowing one, he wasn't employed there for very long and wasn't manager of the megadairy for 3 years. He has a very chequered employment history. He's only just started his present job.
I think it's the same reason for him not pursuing full adoption and going for a quickie PR. He knows his personal history won't bear scrutiny.

Tuktuktaker · 19/11/2016 12:48

enochroot, yes and this brings us right back to the question of why on earth Justin would want to employ him again?

redshoeblueshoe · 19/11/2016 12:55

I thought Justin employed him to do the stuff that's not strictly legal, so he can blame him if he gets caught out. I hope Lillian dumps Justin, and boots him out, and tells his DW why.

He has been in Canada hasn't he? Agree he would probably have bought a house, maybe he's still pumping the bank of Mum and Dad.

WouldHave · 19/11/2016 13:24

I think we know his employment hasn't been continuous, because Jess said so; and he's on his third job since moving to Ambridge.

I wonder how long before Rob tries to bump off his parents, so he can inherit. With the high ceilings in his executive apartment, he could stack up the bodies of his whole family. Perhaps, too, that's the point of Toby - so Rob can get some of the illegal hooch to offer his parents. He'd have to be very clever to make it look plausible though - and I am less sure about Rob's level of intelligence. Maybe an accident on the bypass will have to it.Grin

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 19/11/2016 19:54

What about Miles, though? All we know about him is that he's running the family farm and lives there with his wife, whose name I forget. No mention of children. Hasn't Ursula described Gideon aka Jack as her first real grandchild?

PuppetInParadize · 19/11/2016 20:03

Well, he'll have quite a stack then. He needs to get busy. Grin
