I'm going to assume it will turn up in berts shed

Minimammoth · 27/11/2016 19:33

I too, thought the land belonged to home farm. Assuming we are talking about the herbal ley.

Cromwell1536 · 27/11/2016 19:38

OK. Maybe Fag Ash is going to tell Justin that Knob told Tony that JUSTIN had told him - Knob - about his - Justin's - affair with Fag Ash, and that is why she has had to confirm it to Tony and - we hear tonight - Jennifer. This puts Knob in pole gossip position.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 27/11/2016 19:46

Can Pip get any more stupid?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 27/11/2016 19:55

Vegetables cooking for 20 minutes - root veg in oven?

Land - once upon a time almost all the land in Ambridge belonged to local Squire. The precise details of what followed are before my time, but I believe Lilian's second husband, Ralph Bellamy, bought a huge chunk and that is what is now described as the Estate. She sold it off many years ago after he died. The Brookfield Archers had taken the opportunity to buy their farm in the 1950s or early 60s, but most of the other farmers in Ambridge remained tenant farmers. Eventually, of course, the Bridge Farm Archers also decided to buy their farm from the Estate. The Grundys were never able to do that. They were in fact evicted for fallling behind with the rent.

Meanwhile, the other huge chunk of the Squire's land became the Home Farm estate, purchased in the 1970s by Brian, who was a wealthy young chap starting out in farming, having for reasons I don't pretend to understand sold his family farm in East Anglia (which he'd inherited after the early death of both his parents) and used the proceeds to move to Ambridge and along the way marry Jennifer, conveniently single after her divorce from Debbie's father, Roger Travers-Macy.

Home Farm has a contract to farm the arable land that belongs to the Estate. The Estate itself now belongs to Borchester Land. Brian owns a bit of that, but the majority of the shares are owned by Damara Captal, prop Justin. I think that's it, anyway.

No, some other (not very good) land

TheAntiBoop · 27/11/2016 20:03

She said put the vegetables on - which to me implies going on the job rather than in the oven and would not involve potatoes

Thanks for info on land!!

Minimammoth · 27/11/2016 20:05

Ah , I should listen and not jump to conclusions. Gaspode you are indeed a wonder. So perfect for a chicken/ goose business.

enochroot · 27/11/2016 20:31

Suddenly Brian is praising Adam's expertise with soil?

I smell a rat. Brian is going to massively over-extend himself financially, which is maybe just what Justin intends him to do.

ppeatfruit · 27/11/2016 20:40

Wouldhave I know quite a few people in RL who are a strange mix of mature and immature, some of whom are way over the age of 24 ! Actually I think Pip is quite true to life.

WouldHave · 27/11/2016 20:55

I think the problem is that her alleged brilliance with farming just doesn't ring true for someone with so little direct experience, particularly when David and Ruth start treating her like some sort of oracle. So it becomes all the more improbable when she demonstrates herself to be an immature twat when it comes to men or if she doesn't get precisely what she wants when she wants it.

AnnieNoMouse · 27/11/2016 21:08

I've been meaning to mention this for a while. When Toby came back from Brighton with all the gin equipment he told Pip he had got it off a mate who was having a gap year. The way he paused before he said gap year made me wonder if friend is actually in prison? And is that a hint to Toby's secret in Brighton? (Or haven't the writers decided what that secret actually is, yet?)

AnnieNoMouse · 27/11/2016 21:08

I'm impressed with your knowledge Gasp

Probation rather than parole here. But I don't think it's regular or often enough for that, plus I'm sure Rex would have mentioned it in some rant about how useless Toby is.

AnnieNoMouse · 27/11/2016 21:18

Tea I wondered if he was on probation but I think his visits are fairly irregular and/or last minute. There was a time quite a while ago when he had to scrape a sum of money together and take it to Brighton but we never found out why. I'm wondering if it's to do with drugs? Perhaps h tried his hand at drug dealing, and failed at that enterprise too?

TheAntiBoop · 27/11/2016 21:29

Maybe he stole the still

And murdered the owner

AnnieNoMouse · 27/11/2016 21:44

That'll be it TAB

TheAntiBoop · 27/11/2016 22:06

Maybe it was socs parting script

maggiso · 27/11/2016 22:10

Redshoe I also think Brian could be conned by Justin's plan. However if Adam is knowledgeable about land quality (and they are going together) it could just save the day - or not if Brian ignores his advice.

WouldHave · 27/11/2016 22:16

With Brian knowing about Lill's relationship and wanting to encourage it, maybe he will help Tony gang up on Rob. I suspect if Brian really puts his mind to it Rob hasn't got a chance.

Mootsie · 27/11/2016 22:27

Jennifer said only Tony knew about Lilian's affair with Justin so Brian won't know that Rob knows.

Maybe this is part of Tony's cunning plan.

TheAntiBoop · 27/11/2016 22:28

Justin is shafting Brian. It will all be ' sorry but we need to go for the maximum value' and before you know it there are executive flats all over that little woodland near penny hassett

PuppetInParadize · 27/11/2016 22:58

I expect whoever of the SWs has created Pip knows a RL person who, when crossed, cried 'You can't do this'. My cousin used to do that - but she was 3 or 4 at the time. I saw her recently and she has definitely stopped. She is 40. Grin

I wonder if Knob will tell Miranda about the affair - in the way he told Ian. At least to pass heavy hints/allude so he can't actually be blamed. I'm sure she's about ready for another visit to Ambridge.

Can anyone tell me about Lilian decades ago. I know she was in Guernsey for years - but did she visit Ambridge or speak very often? I'd love to know what she was like as a mother to James, but I cannot recall him as a child. I'll bet she was flaky, unreliable and selfish - much as she is now. I like her as a character 9she does add something to TA) but she isn't somebody I'd be keen on IRL, I suspect.

Shallishanti · 27/11/2016 23:00

I don't associate Tony with cunning plans somehow
