David shouldn't have had that random go at Toby earlier in the day but otherwise I enjoyed listening to him giving it with both barrels to that idiot.

We don't often hear David being properly furious, so that was fun.

Not sure what pip will do, she's stubborn but caught that Toby had lied to her about the legality of the still.

JennyWoodentop · 26/11/2016 00:00

I liked the comment about Usha getting the house deep cleaned and Rob having left it in a state - I so hope he's not going to get his deposit back.

I also hope David kicks Toe -beeeee out, probably too much to hope he kicks Pip out too but maybe she'll flounce off anyway!

ErrolTheDragon · 26/11/2016 00:25

David said either the still goes or they both go. Thing is, toby is there as pips guest, david cant kick him out. Either pip would have to, or else he has to kick her out.

TheMortificadosDragon · 26/11/2016 00:28

Re Usha probably not being able to find a tenant easily, Anisha seems like a sensible woman who wouldn't be put off by the odd bloodstain.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 26/11/2016 01:43

Boop for David ( that must be a first)

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 26/11/2016 01:44

Oh and boop for the continuity announcer earlier in the week for his someone must care Pip.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 26/11/2016 01:49

Tobee is a crusty juggler

That was a touch of genuine. He soooo would a juggler.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 26/11/2016 01:49

Genius. Fgs.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 26/11/2016 02:00

The scarf thing is just rubbish. Why would Rob recognise Lilian's scarf? And there are perfectly legitimate reasons why the scarf could be there

ColdTeaAgain · 26/11/2016 09:03

Exactly, Lass. It's all a bit lazy. But hoping Tony will stay one step ahead, he has been fab lately.

Pip will dig her heels in even more now. Just wondering if Toby is going to bleed her bank account dry.

DadDadDad · 26/11/2016 09:16

Except as David was raging and revealed that they were already breaking the law even without selling the stuff, Pip sounded genuinely taken aback by that, so it may be that she will get cross with Toby too.

I like the way that David didn't come rushing over as soon as he learnt about the still from Alistair, but checked on the internet first and discussed it with Ruth. Being angry doesn't have to mean an uncontrolled emotional outburst, it can be a considered response.

glowfrog · 26/11/2016 09:26

Also, let's face it - Toby doesn't know how to take hints. He's definitely the sort that needs to be shouted at, or punched. Grin

BertrandRussell · 26/11/2016 09:32

I thought David was incredibly restrained when Pip was drivelling on about 'believing in Toby"

How old is she ffs?

Presumably she paid for the still? Where do you even get a still?

Imbroglio · 26/11/2016 09:35

I'm beginning to think Rex had a lucky escape.

EBearhug · 26/11/2016 09:40

Where do you even get a still?

Brighton.

Toby doesn't even get what the fuss is abou, he thinks it's just because Pio''s family have taken against him.

EBearhug · 26/11/2016 09:40

Or Pip's family, even.

BertrandRussell · 26/11/2016 09:49

Wow- or from Amazon for about 100 quid! Who knew?

Olympiathequeen · 26/11/2016 09:54

Did I miss an episode where Tony learned about Lillian and Justin's affair from fagash herself and if so why would Rob assume Tony was in on the secret?

Agree Lil should have just denied but Rob is good at catching people unawares and sniffing out a guilty reaction.

80sWaistcoat · 26/11/2016 09:54

lass. I think that was just rob testing the waters, he wasn't completely sure but her response convinced him. She could have breezily said 'oh thanks Rob silly me, people will think there's something going on!'

But she's scared of rob, or at least he concerns her. I liked Toby's response too notice thought about it.

And. Good one David.

EBearhug · 26/11/2016 10:00

Tony didn't know - he was just blagging it, because he didn't want Rob to get the upper hand and learn there are areas Lilian (or other Archers) don't talk about together, because that would be very useful knowledge to Rob as that's where he could really get in and divide and conquer and cause splits and set them all against each other. I'm not sure Tony fully understood that, but was responding more instinctively, and it was only when he spoke to Lilian that it clicked with him.

glowfrog · 26/11/2016 10:03

I loathe Toby and until Pip shacked up with him, I was one of the few people who actually liked her character. But David's bitching about him - starting with a dig about his being still in bed probably - was completely uncalled for. He doesn't have to be happy about her choice or to support it, but he doesn't need to be petty about it, either.

And as the still proves, he should know that Toby will find his own rope to hang himself with easily enough.

Shallishanti · 26/11/2016 12:44

no I think criticising a supposed adult who is still in bed when others are up and working is completely justified, and likely to hit home with Pip who calls herself a farmer. Toby has indeed hung himself but it needed David to point out the law- of course Pip should have checked herself. I notice he hasn't mentioned any of the safety concerns re distilling.
