There was one more bonus point this evening - if Brine is adamant the herbal leys have to go, does that mean Pip is out of a job? Can't afford the rent on Rickyard? No reason to stay in Ambridge?

Boom.

TheAntiBoop · 24/11/2016 23:02

But that assumes Justin cares. All he is interested in is keeping it a secret. He knows rob is unpleasant - that's why he hired him!! Lillian running to him and telling him what rob has done will mean nothing to him.

ErrolTheDragon · 24/11/2016 23:40

Maybe whatever Tony has in mind will discredit Rob in Justin's eyes - not enough to fire him, he still wants his henchman, but enough to sour their working relationship.

WouldHave · 24/11/2016 23:58

When Pip wanted to talk to Brine, I had a horrible feeling that they were going to script it so that he fell down before her wondrous rhetoric and changed his mind, just as the Dopeys would. I still wouldn't put it past the SWs.

When Toby was saying the taste of his gutrot didn't need to be consistent, I couldn't help but think that if I bought a crate of gin off the back of having liked the taste, I'd kind of want it to have the same taste. Yet Pip fell for it totally.

Anyone thinking that whatever it was he changed in the recipe, it was probably the inclusion of an ingredient that's either poisonous or illegal?

mummytime · 25/11/2016 06:12

I think if Brian is adamant - then Adam will walk, probably taking Ian with him (quite an easy write as well - "we're having a fresh start somewhere new").

80sWaistcoat · 25/11/2016 07:07

Yeah Tony. I'm so glad someone is finally starting to think sneakily.

TheAntiBoop · 25/11/2016 08:40

What is the agreement between pip and home farm? It seems deeply unprofessional to just boot her off the land after less than a year.

JessieMcJessie · 25/11/2016 10:08

Grumpyoldhorsewoman sadly I think that Pip works full time for Brookfield and the mob grazing cows are just a venture on the side for her.

redshoeblueshoe · 25/11/2016 10:19

If Justin decided to ditch Lillian surely she would just evict him.
I'm hoping that Tony decides that Rob needs prosecuting, and manages to persuade Helen.

enochroot · 25/11/2016 10:27

Didn't they say they couldn't afford to pay her when she came back from wherever she was supposed to go to work? I think the idea was that she would live rent free but get her own means of income going so the mob grazing was supposed to be a big part of that.

Vango · 25/11/2016 10:34

Anti Yes, Pip is in a partnership with Adam. She bought the cows specifically for the leys. Wasn't there a lot of fuss last year when Ruth took offence at David's presumption that they'd just give her the money from Heather's estate?

Pip has personally invested in some of the cattle, Adam the rest, and the deal is that she looks after all of them.

JessieMcJessie · 25/11/2016 10:55

Hmm that does ring a bell enoch but I thought it was josh they had said they couldn't afford to pay. Pip has said a couple of times that she has a "full time job" so I presumed a paid one at Brookfield.

mummytime · 25/11/2016 11:08

There is one good thing about the Rob situation. If Justin is up to something dodgy and Lillian finds out, she is going to be less likely to be feeling divided in her loyalties and prevaricate about spilling the beans - although Rob isn't to know that and probably expects her to feel more isolated from her family.

glowfrog · 25/11/2016 14:06

I still don't get why Tony felt he had to pretend he knew about the affair.

I also still think Justin would not be happy that Rob is meddling into his private business so maybe it is indeed his plan to pretend it's Lillian who is letting people know.

Fingers crossed on Tony's cunning plan.

WouldHave I reckon Toby has used some cheap crappy gin as his base to use a shortcut.

TheAntiBoop · 25/11/2016 14:26

According to you and yours today, non alcoholic spirits are the next big thing. Toby has missed a trick...

EBearhug · 25/11/2016 14:38

Surely it's being alcoholic and distilled which makes it a spirit? Without that bit, it's just some sort of weird cordial or juice.

TheAntiBoop · 25/11/2016 14:40

Yes! I thought it was just the kind of thing Toby would come up with!!

Sounds like it's basically a savoury cordial which stops mocktails being overly sweet or something

BertrandRussell · 25/11/2016 14:45

"I still don't get why Tony felt he had to pretend he knew about the affair"

Because he thought Rob thought he was spreading new gossip.

WouldHave · 25/11/2016 14:47

If Pip is about to lose a source of income, that's going to put more pressure on the relationship with freeloader Toby, isn't it?

glowfrog · 25/11/2016 15:31

Thanks, Bert. I guess I can see that but it still seems odd. Tony could have left it to "I really couldn't care less whether it's true or not."

EBearhug · 25/11/2016 15:35

Because he thought Rob thought he was spreading new gossip.

But Tony could have said, "Whatever is going on in their personal lives is none of your business, Rob, and you have no need to gossip about it like an old woman*."

  • I know this is misogynistic, but it's a comparison which would really upset Rob.
Minimammoth · 25/11/2016 15:53

It's all about power isn't it. Rob has the low down= I have the power. Tony say I know, power is lessened.
Hope Tony comes up with something that show Rob in his true colours to Justin, and that Lil comes out with some dignity at least. Although I suspect Justin has the measure of Rob.

Geretrude · 25/11/2016 19:16

AnnieNoMouse · 25/11/2016 19:19
