Yes, fingers crossed. But I fear Lillian will be all flustered and defensive, and find herself at the losing end of these horrible, powerful men's manipulations. Yuk. Perhaps I'll just lurk on this thread before listening and you can let me know when it's safe to go back to the radio!

ppeatfruit · 24/11/2016 09:44

Yes Lil's taste for bad boys is going to bite her on the bum.

R4 · 24/11/2016 09:54

Lil's desperation for any man - married or bad, as long as he's rich - is going to bite her on the bum.

I don't have much sympathy.

Vango · 24/11/2016 09:58

I think Justin recognises some of his own ruthless 'qualities' in Rob Louise.

It will be interesting to see how Rob presents the information to Justin. He'll probably mention it in an entirely innocent way, leading Justin to conclude that Lillian's been boasting about it behind his back all along. He won't try any blackmail. He just wants to upset the Archers and cause as much misery as he can. Rotter.

TheAntiBoop · 24/11/2016 10:38

This is his revenge for her not renting to him

Most of his behaviour is due to righting perceived wrongs against him

ThatsNotMyToddler · 24/11/2016 11:10

You're absolutely right Antiboop But how frustrating that the opportunity for revenge has even arisen (however unlikely Hmm). It's the newly-recruited Ambridge revenge fairy 😈

CeciledeVolanges · 24/11/2016 11:16

I was thinking about this though - how would/should she have reacted if Rob wasn't right?

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 24/11/2016 11:17

'Oh right, yeah, my scarf. Cheers you big twat'

BertrandRussell · 24/11/2016 11:19

He will present tI to Justin just as he told Ian about Adam. As if the whole village knew and were talking about it.

Tony couldn't have said anything worse if he had, as my mum used to say "tried with both hands for a fortnight". And he really thought he was doing the right thing.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 24/11/2016 11:22

"Ah hullo Justin - you know I must - heh heh - congratulate you, I'm always in awe of people who - heh heh - don't worry too much about what everyone thinks. heh heh. What do I mean? Well, the fact that it's common knowledge you're - heh heh - entangled with Lillian! What do I mean by that? Well, Tony made it pretty clear he knows all about it, and those Archers are terrible gossips. I'd imagine Susan -heh heh - knows all about it, and you can be pretty sure she won't have been backward in sharing the news! So you and Miranda have an open marriage do you? Well jolly good for you two: I always say that it's good to keep your options open if you're a chap!"

BertrandRussell · 24/11/2016 11:27

It's as if he's in the room.......

Vango · 24/11/2016 11:35

This thread needs to be resurrected. I laughed...a LOT!

And I killed it?

OMG. Apologies everyone.

Vango · 24/11/2016 13:38

OMG is right Gruach. You've just made me laugh out loud again 😁😁.

mummytime · 24/11/2016 14:02

The scarf reminds me of Othello and the Handkerchief - which makes me think maybe SOC had a hand in this plot?

So is it only me who thinks that Tony has nailed Lil's coffin? I thought she'd played cool enough (would have preferred her to say "That's not mine', but never mind). Tony should have just ignored Rob's obvious goadings.

Still slightly perplexed as to what Rob could do with the information. The idea of gathering dirt on your boss when you're a total pariah everywhere else just seems self-defeating.

RockNRollNerd · 24/11/2016 14:43

It feels like they're floundering with the Justin / Rob / Lil storyline and desperately trying to get out of the corners they keep boxing themselves into. Lil as Justin's bit on the side was entirely plausible and in keeping with the characters but Justin offering Rob the job and initimating he needs a henchman seems very strange. I wonder if the scarf thing is the latest attempt to try to reshape this particular set of story-lines. It's annoying as we had Lil at her best the other week with Helen and I enjoy it when we see more of her than just the gin and giggles.

SingingAvocado · 24/11/2016 15:03

Any chance Justin would send Rob packing if he tried to blackmail him about the affair? (Or am I being a little too hopeful?)

WouldHave · 24/11/2016 16:12

So is it only me who thinks that Tony has nailed Lil's coffin?

Well, no, the point's been made upthread.

I agree with people who think Rob will take the same tack as he did with Ian, making out that Lillian's been spreading gossip about it.

mummytime · 24/11/2016 16:37

But ultimately Lil doesn't have that much to lose really? (SW please note!)
Justin is just a fling. The house is hers after all. The money might be useful, and she might be having more fun, but she doesn't have much to lose.
Justin has far more to lose: good connections and ideas for his "image", the house in the village, Miranda, and a lot of egg on face.

DoctorTwo · 24/11/2016 18:40

Is that pastured egg mummytime*? :o

Vango · 24/11/2016 18:42

Upper Class Egg even.
