She's afraid she'll be abandoned by another man. Poor Lillian isn't very resilient by herself.

BertrandRussell · 23/11/2016 19:36

But but but....what's that got to do with Rob and the scarf?

TheAntiBoop · 23/11/2016 19:41

Oh well that was just crap. Lillian did not react in character at all

enochroot · 23/11/2016 19:42

I found myself hoping she would confide in the Cider Club guys and they would take it upon themselves to see that Rob was silenced forever. Grin

GrumpyOldBag · 23/11/2016 19:47

Rob's doing it to get back at the Archer family - he hopes Justin will dump Lillian when he find out the affair is public knowledge. I reckon.

Vango · 23/11/2016 20:02

Bertrand Lillian knows that Rob knows and will tell Justin (in a matey, back-slapping, all-blokes-together kind of way). If the cat's out of the bag, Justin will drop her like a hot cake. She's also got the joy of Tony and Pat having a go at her to look forward to!

Justin hasn't left his wife so she won't be able to carry on her affair with a married man surely?

Mootsie · 23/11/2016 20:05

I hope Doc Locke wasn't sitting on the loo when Lil went to see if he was OK. Shock

Does the cider shack actually run to a loo?

The word 'run' might not be the best choice.

BertrandRussell · 23/11/2016 20:08

Oh shit. And now Tony's told Rob he's known for ages so he's confirmed it. I understand now........

glowfrog · 23/11/2016 20:29

Why is Rob busy telling Tony/people about Lillian and Justin? Surely he must know it likely to get back to his boss and that he wouldn't be pleased?

glowfrog · 23/11/2016 20:30

Ah, I think you've all answered my question - should have refreshed before posting.

SafariSoGood · 23/11/2016 21:37

Oh he is a master manipulator Angry

I wonder if Toebee is going to tell Kenton that David is annoyed re the anniversary trip? Don't think he'd do it out of malice (like Rob) but stupidity.
I really don't want months of Archer wars again.

Are the Grundys particularly whingy at the moment? "Oh no we have to pay the rent!" Just like everyone else Confused

But I did enjoy the anniversary episode.

enochroot · 23/11/2016 22:20

Oh shit. And now Tony's told Rob he's known for ages so he's confirmed it. I understand now.

Of course! Now I get it. Thank you, Bertrand.

ErrolTheDragon · 23/11/2016 23:06

Except that Tony didn't know so he hasn't reallyConfused

Vango · 23/11/2016 23:26

Rob did to Tony what he did to Ian just before the wedding. In a way. He's so full of malice. Determined to destroy other people's relationships.

officerhinrika · 23/11/2016 23:41

A Trifle thread has made its annual appearance and the OP is advocating HOME MADE CUSTARD. Is no nowhere safe from the malicious influence? Grin

EBearhug · 24/11/2016 00:16

I have to say that the one thing I agree with Rob about is the superiority of proper custard over Bird's. Although Waitrose or M&S are as good as homemade.

I know you're all going to shun me now.

EBearhug · 24/11/2016 00:20

And before I got distracted by custard - isn't the point of supervised contact for the safety of the child? So Rob telling Tony to stop trying to tell him how to look after Jack, and that he won't get his hands on him till the end of contact time isn't entirely accurate that Tony has no right to intervene. (And why it should be in a proper centre with proper supervision.)

ThatsNotMyToddler · 24/11/2016 06:08

And isn't it just typical of Rob to keep doing whatever it was he was doing with Jack, despite Tony saying he (Jack) didn't like it - because nobody will tell him how to look after his child. He's so pigheaded. And although at a human level you can sympathise that he's a new parent in the most difficult of circumstances (self-inflicted, obviously), and we're all making it up as we go along, he's just such a horrible man. It's hard listening. And not something I want to follow for the next 18 years.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 24/11/2016 08:26

The scarf matters, in a slightly clunky way, because rob could see he was right in his guess by Lilian's reaction. She's confirmed what's going on, basically, so Rob has the green light to stir. Even though I'm real life, anyone would say oh yeah, my scarf, cheers...

R4 · 24/11/2016 08:35

I don't see why it's a Major Thing. I'm sure that 90% of Borsetshire Society have worked out what is going on. The only one who doesn't know is Miranda but I bet that she has guessed that there is someone, she just doesn't know who it is.

And all that fussing by Lillian about trying to get to Tony before Rob does - have we gone back to Old Time TA i.e before they discovered mobiles or, even, landlines.Hmm

BertrandRussell · 24/11/2016 08:49

Rob will now be able to insinuate that Lillian hasn't been "discreet". That she's told her brother-and by extension, the rest of the family. So she can'5 be trusted.

ThatsNotMyToddler · 24/11/2016 09:12

Still can't work out a real life situation where you'd see something that you think belongs to someone, in a third party's house, and just take it. Rob really is a sociopath

ErrolTheDragon · 24/11/2016 09:13

But Rob was being helpful. Hmm

Vango · 24/11/2016 09:20

That's what I thought Thats. Madness. My own DH wouldn't recognise one of my scarves! So he's in a third party's house, sees a scarf, and takes it?? I really wish Lillian had said "it must be Miranda's". How would he have smuggled it back in? 😁

Agree that Rob is going to lead Justin to believe that Lillian's been broadcasting their affair to all and sundry.

R4 · 24/11/2016 09:22

Rob will now be able to insinuate that Lillian hasn't been "discreet".

"Really, daaahling? Everything was discreet.
Let me think, what has changed recently? ... Oh yes, you put that sociopath rapist on the payroll."
