Roll up roll up! It's nearly Apple Day in Ambridge. Grab a slice of Borset apple cake and see who's got the longest peel in The Archers.

Aaaaaargh, No!8

TheAntiBoop · 04/11/2016 19:11

Well that was predictable that he would turn up

TheAntiBoop · 04/11/2016 19:13

I can not believe Kirsty wouldn't just rip into him and tell him he wasn't welcome. And Alice thinks her cousins rapist is welcome. Honestly. What a load of crap.

Shallishanti · 04/11/2016 19:13

come on Alice get a grip

KingscoteStaff · 04/11/2016 19:16

How many one man pantos are there?

TheAntiBoop · 04/11/2016 19:18

Well done Rob, you have the main part. Unfortunately it's a one man show butdont worry, we've come up with the perfect show for you. The Vagina Monologues

LyndaNotLinda · 04/11/2016 19:18

Well that was a surprise. Not.

Vango · 04/11/2016 19:21

Glad to hear Pip's delivery sounding much more natural tonight. Far fewer pauses between words.

glowfrog · 04/11/2016 19:25

AntiBoop hahahahahahahaha!

ColdTeaAgain · 04/11/2016 19:32

I was expecting Rob to turn up. Was not expecting Kirsty to completely forget to tell him to go fuck himself! Beyond the joke now.

GrumpyOldBag · 04/11/2016 19:39

Vango I thought Pip was as terrible as always.

You can hear the acting.

AntheaBelveden · 04/11/2016 19:45

Will somebody please tell Rob to go fuck himself.

Vango · 04/11/2016 19:49

Sounded better to my ears Grumpy. Maybe I'm just feeling charitable. I wondered about Kirsty and Rex tonight though!

ColdTeaAgain · 04/11/2016 20:04

We always knew it wouldn't take long for her to realise she got the wrong brother. Perhaps Rex will hook up with the lovely new vet headed for Ambridge. Pip will implode with jealousy and Toby will sod off to Brighton for good!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 04/11/2016 20:33

I don't think anyone's linked to this before: Steve Lamacq, who is a big Archers fan, interviews David, Jolene and Phoebe and gets them to review music. I don't think I realised that Buffy Davis (Jolene) is American!

BertrandRussell · 05/11/2016 00:32

Just fucking fatuous.

I so wish I could stop listening, but I am properly addicted.

Yakitori · 05/11/2016 05:50

The pantomime audition scene was ridiculous. Kirsty would have told Rob to fuck off as soon as he came through the door.

The thing is, about a week ago, everyone was behaving towards Rob as you might expect. Total persona non grata. This week they are all pussy-footing around him and allowing themselves to be bullied and browbeaten.

witchmountain · 05/11/2016 08:35

Delurking to say I had to turn it off when Alice and Kirsty were having their pathetic argument; I just couldn't bear it! It's not like Kirsty has held back before or is scared of him.

I've found Rob really difficult to listen to the whole way through. They need to deal with it properly now with at least the attempt of a prosecution. I don't buy the argument that in reality few people are prosecuted - one thing that could help that is portrayals of prosecutions on programmes like TA.

selsigfach · 05/11/2016 08:55

I guess we're finally going to find out about Brighton. I'm on the edge of my seat, I'm sure!

Fiderer · 05/11/2016 11:42

It's so disheartening. Started listening again after such a long time and now read this thread.

Have noticed I now listen to Audible more than R4.

BertrandRussell · 05/11/2016 13:21

"I don't buy the argument that in reality few people are prosecuted"

Have they said that? Angry
Likelihood didn't seem to bother them when they decided that Helen would stab him.....

TheAntiBoop · 05/11/2016 14:35

It's almost like they decided he's too good a character to lose to prison

Personally I'm fed up with him. He's just too much.

witchmountain · 05/11/2016 14:52

Bertrand no they haven't I don't think, just a few people on this thread have acknowledged that in reality many people wouldn't pursue a prosecution and that it even if pursued it may not be successful. Obviously in real life it's absolutely up to the individual as to whether they go down that route or not, but I do think that having taken the story down the ridiculous stabbing route the SW have a responsibility to show that it is possible to prosecute, which they could do in a realistic way, highlighting the difficulties that would be faced. I think even if Rob wasn't found guilty I'd get some satisfaction from what would come out during the trial.

BertrandRussell · 06/11/2016 07:42

I absolutely agree witch mountain. I'm pinning my hopes on Jess.

but I suppose it does highlight a bit how strong the "thoroughly good chap" mindset can be.............

Gherkinsmummy · 06/11/2016 10:22

Listening to the film. Perhaps the whole village could stab Rob in a 'murder in the orient express' style plot
