Sorry for the poor title - the end of the last thread has arrived sooner than I thought and I haven't had the benefit of hearing all of the last 2 nights....

Someone else here who loves listening to Adam speak.
And Errol let's give them the benefit of the doubt...

StVincent · 06/10/2016 12:13

Thanks ppeat - why does that never happen to me?

Yes Trevor, it's nice to think that Ian has mates. Who wouldn't want to be friends with super kind, pudding making, lovely accented, good friend Ian?

StVincent · 06/10/2016 12:17

:o Bore - forgot how funny that was. "And of course his brother has had his eye on that bit of table to put a roll of sellotape on."

Welcome to the Adam voice fanclub Cecile, Alberta and ppeat.

Adam and Charlie was the only believable "romance" I've ever heard on the Archers, come to think of it. They were clearly really into each other, however grubbily it all worked out. But I do hope if the worst happens and Ian does leave, Charlie can eventually come back and they can start a sexy-voiced gay farming empire together.

Alleycat1 · 06/10/2016 12:19

I mentioned Adam's dulcet tones on the last thread. His voice is incredibly sexy I think. I haven't looked at an image of the actor as I don't want to ruin my fantasies impressions.

Putthetulipsthere · 06/10/2016 13:01

I too love Adam's sexy tones. And Charlie's. I was interested to see post in previous thread that he was in Wolf Hall - & can't can't quite remove the image I have of him now in sixteenth century dress. Yes I'm another hoping for Charlie's return.

I notice Charlie is still on TA website so we may yet see his triumphal return shortly followed (I hope) by an interesting meeting between him and Rob.

JasperDamerel · 06/10/2016 13:02

I think they are totally setting it up for Ian to leave Sad and for Charlie to get his old job back, with better pay and much grovelling from Justin, and for him to settle down with Adam.

ppeatfruit · 06/10/2016 13:22

Nice to know there are people on my wavelength St. Vincent Grin I tried to watch Wolf Hall ( I like the thought of Adam in tights!) But I didn't realise he was in it. It was very dark (in both senses of the word, realistic of course, but it didn't catch my imagination ).

Gaspode There was very little thought behind most of SOC's ridiculous decisions, thank goodness he's bloody gone. TA does seem to be improving now.

PrincessFiorimonde · 06/10/2016 13:29

Thanks for the thread, Pseudo.

I'm another who's annoyed with the way Alice's presentation was handled.

ErrolTheDragon · 06/10/2016 13:47

The photos of Adam's actor look fine - except that Adam is supposed to be a redhead. TBH he sounds dark-haired to me (charlie could be a redhead).

I think Charlie should return to oust Rob, he should meet up with Ian somehow and realise he was infatuated with the wrong bloke. And Adam can bugger off back to Africa. He can come back to visit occasionally.
That reminds me - surely we're well overdue a visit from Debbie?

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 06/10/2016 14:31

Agree completely re the sub-standard casting/recasting of some characters under SOC Gasp0de. A certain few definitely spring to mind... (one of my bugbears on TA).

Anyone else have a schoolgirl snigger when Jennydarling sighed to Adam about how 'you must be missing your sweet things, since you're not living with Ian'?

I should say.

StVincent · 06/10/2016 14:32

I hope Debbie comes in all Deus ex machina to give Adam a talking to.

" I was interested to see post in previous thread that he was in Wolf Hall - & can't can't quite remove the image I have of him now in sixteenth century dress." :o Well, quite.

I can just about see Alice getting overexcited and desperate to impress and putting in too many graphics, but I think it would have been something like she'd bought some fancy new software and was overusing it. Not just putting in pictures because...well, no reason Hmm

RockNRollNerd · 06/10/2016 14:44

I hope Debbie comes in all Deus ex machina to give Adam a talking to.

Surely all Deus Ex Farm-Machina Grin

I'll get my coat...

Joining the list of those frustrated at Alice seemingly falling victim to TASWAMA which pretty much precludes any chance of Debbie coming back as she's the only one who is half way competent and of course that meant she couldn't hold down a relationship at the same time.

TheAntiBoop · 06/10/2016 14:50

I could imagine she would talk too much about the techy side but overlook the cost side

The fact it was too 'light' annoyed me

TASWAMA

ErrolTheDragon · 06/10/2016 15:00

Can someone tell me what that acronym stands for please?
(my best guess from context is The Archers Script Writers Are Misogynist Arses)

StVincent · 06/10/2016 15:09

I think that's right Errol (maybe "arseholes")

Haha RockNRollNerd :)

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 06/10/2016 15:59

Adam's voice is AWFUL - or rather, his tone is. He cannot say anything without sounding as though the effort of having to communicate is so tiresome, and the demands on his time and intellect so great, that it's the most colossal bore to have to speak at all and he can't quite believe he's being expected to go to the bother.

StVincent · 06/10/2016 16:03

He sounds like he's just had a really good shag, is what it is. Probably has.

GrumpyOldBag · 06/10/2016 16:18

The frustrating thing about the Adam - Ian situation is it's the one element of the Rob-Helen fiasco which has been successful in terms of Rob sowing misery & chaos. Helen may have won her court cases, but at the cost of Adam & Ian's relationship. Rob's fault.

GypsyFl0ss · 06/10/2016 16:41

I'm with you Seek . His voice drips with ennui and I imagine him sprawled languidly across a sofa, complaining. He is another exceptionally self-obsessed man child.

Charlie on the other hand sounded awesome Grin

GypsyFl0ss · 06/10/2016 16:42

at the cost of Adam & Ian's relationship. Rob's fault. Or perhaps Adam's fault?

ErrolTheDragon · 06/10/2016 16:45

A prime example of teamwork?

CeciledeVolanges · 06/10/2016 17:00

Excellent, StVincent
Also I wouldn't say Helen's court cases were what she originally wanted from the relationship... I think Rob turned their marriage into a fiasco long before stabnight.

GrumpyOldBag · 06/10/2016 17:19

Gypsy you are right of course. If Adam hadn't been a bad boy then there wouldn't be an issue. But still I see it as some sort of small victory for the homophobic Rob.

TheAntiBoop · 06/10/2016 17:19

It really is Adams own fault

I just hope they don't get him in another LTR and make it an open relationship. Because, you know, gay guys can't be monogamous

Redcliff · 06/10/2016 17:25

**

gratesnakes

I only just noticed that Adam is also the blokey friend of the husband of Clare in the Community

shock

I listen to that & I've never noticed!

Same here!!I love both shows and it's so obvious now you say it!

Also Dragon - Adam so has dark hair!*
