Sorry for the poor title - the end of the last thread has arrived sooner than I thought and I haven't had the benefit of hearing all of the last 2 nights....

Gherkins I was intrigued by the eye patch too! Did bold Sir Francis have to ride a horse at all? (I never watched Wolf Hall.) Must have been a bit unnerving with one eye

Was it just me or did Adam sound stoned?

I have a friend with only one eye (horrid accident with amniocentesis needle). She drives and everything.

If Ian leaves I hope Justin tells Rob the job's not on and Charlie returns to run the estate.

(I know it's possible to function with only one eye, but people can adjust when it's permanent - acting, with an eye patch, a bit trickier)

FGS surely Alice the engineer would have done a presentation erring on the side of too many figures rather than too many pwetty coloured graphics. Oh, its not by any chance because she's a girl is it?

I actually think Adam and Charlie were brought together by their sexy voices.

Scrobus Adam always sounds stoned. Or at the very least, bored. He grates on my nerves. And I love how he always manages to turn the conversation back onto himself somehow.

I did watch Wolf Hall but can't remember if Charlie did much riding - I guess it would be possible to make an eye patch that the actor could see through, so he wouldn't bump into furniture in those dimly lit rooms.

I caught up on last night's on the way to work.

LOLLLLLLL ( I don't normally LOL) at everyone telling Adam to give Ian space /talking about a rough patch.

I bet Ian thinks WTF is Adam doing trying to get in touch with me - I kicked him out and we are over. I love love love the description of Ian getting back in touch with his friends and having them rally round as he gets on with his life - while Adam still deludes himself thinking Ian will come back to him after his cheating.

Re Alice, are we to assume the scriptwriters think aeronautical engineers are big on graphics and short on figures? Alice must have five or more years of experience. Aeronautical engineers. And she asked for Brian's opinion!

Cecile - quite. It would have been credible if her presentation had had too many techie details but not got the balance right for a business presentation. Maybe it's just the SWs ignorance of fields other than arable rather than lazy stereotype of how a girl might do a presentation.

I'm replaying the CitC voice in my head and thinking yes, Brian's friend does have the same warm tones as Adam, but I never twigged it was the same actor!

He has a blokeish vaguely London accent, DDD - I listened to one this morning. You can hear that it's his voice, once you know, but it's not obvious.

I remember when Adam first started speaking there were complaints to Feedback that he was indistinguishable from some of the other male actors (Kenton?), and gradually over the next few months his delivery changed to the very distinctive, mannered drawl we all know and love now. New Editor, take note! This is really, really important in radio drama. SOC just didn't seem to get it at all in his various casting/re-casting decisions.
