Sorry for the poor title - the end of the last thread has arrived sooner than I thought and I haven't had the benefit of hearing all of the last 2 nights....

I've never weighed pasta in my life. And I'm imperial - I haven't a clue what 80gms looks like!

Am I right in thinking that Pip hasn't any girlfriends in Ambridge? Unlike Fallon, Emma, Kirsty, Alice etc, she never talks of any nights out with anyone we know, does she?

ErrolTheDragon · 18/10/2016 22:29

Alice maybe, but she's a cousin. Not sure theres anyone quite the same age as Pip, aren't most of the others you mentioned a few years older?

True Errol.

glowfrog · 18/10/2016 22:41

I think Jill was out of order just as much as Pip was - but Pip is let down by bad acting. It was incredibly dense of her to mention Toby so casually after the birthday debacle - in her place I would have said something about wanting a snack for tomorrow or somesuch.

Unless it turns out Pip and Toby are related, Jill is being way OTT about the whole thing and I don't recall her complaining about Josh being in business with the brothers, which should concern her just as much.

ErrolTheDragon · 18/10/2016 22:50

But was there anything wrong with Robin Fairbrother's business dealings? If not, then its not necessarily double standards.

Vango · 18/10/2016 22:51

It's also odd that Jill accepted Toby's help at the F&P Show if we are now expected to believe that she can't bear to even hear his name.

Imbroglio · 18/10/2016 22:52

Jill is saying 'no' to pip which pip should respect. Pip escalated the situation by challenging Jill when she should have left her alone.

The fact that Pip is moving Toby in to Rickyard over some cake says it all.

Imbroglio · 18/10/2016 22:53

Jill accepted Pip's help.
Toby mucked it up.

Vango · 18/10/2016 23:14

Imbroglio Jill was explaining to Toby about Carol being on holiday (the reason she had so much stuff to transport) and chatting reasonably amicably, though slightly stand-offishly, to him when Pip turned up and offered their help.

Pip might have taken no for an answer if Jill had been reasonable. But she knew very well the reason she said no was because of Toby. I sided with Jill over the birthday party but not this.

That being said, do we know whether Pip apologised about the party? She probably didn't, which wouldn't have helped matters here. And she was also dumb to bring up Toby's name like that - that feels like the SWs contriving an argument.

redshoeblueshoe · 19/10/2016 07:23

Pip apologise ? That would never happen, unless she thought she could benefit.
I don't know if I'm alone but I can't stand Rex. I don't like Pip, but she did make it very clear to him that she isn't interested in him, but his attitude seems to be I saw her first, so she's mine As if Pip had no right to decide who she goes out with.
Anyway Pip&Tobes are perfectly suited, they are both vile, selfish individuals. Just because people are cousins it doesn't mean they are friends

I hate Pip. I've just listened to the scene with her and Jill and every single line she says is an insult and/or unacceptable language to use to your grandmother. And I would be ashamed to be caught in that situation anyway, let alone the whole Toby thing. I agree that Jill is overreacting, but much of what she said was justified (not all, but much) and I'm glad she did.

LikeDylanInTheMovies · 19/10/2016 08:34

It's hard to believe Pip is 23.

Isn't it just? If I didn't know better I'd have said mid to late teens based on her attitude and demenour. I wonder if she suffers from the same attested dvelopment as Henwee who still sounds like a toddler.

Or are Ambridge years like dog years in reverse?

Pip is 23, that's 17 in human years.

CeciledeVolanges · 19/10/2016 08:35

"You're just being so horrible" is more like an immature 11-year-old. Or even younger.

TheAntiBoop · 19/10/2016 08:40

I was waiting for her to stamp her foot and shout 'I'll scweam and scweam until you give me some cake'

Other than the bad acting (the pair of them did a full on kazoo and swanny whistle last night) the whole 'Jill has a problem with fairbrothers' thing is ludicrous and there had better be more to it!

As for Rex, he is annoyed with his brother ultimately because Toby spent ages encouraging him to ask pip out and listening to Rex mooning over her. Toby really broke the bro code. None of that has anything to do with pip though and she shouldn't be blamed by Rex

ppeatfruit · 19/10/2016 08:51

Oh dear I haven't listened yet, but what a lot of moaning Grin

TheAntiBoop · 19/10/2016 08:52

Save yourself peat - don't not listen to the last five mins!

It feels like this is a parting gift from soc!!

ppeatfruit · 19/10/2016 08:55

Thanks Anti You've whetted my appetite now ! (I'd forgotten about SOC Hmm )

TheAntiBoop · 19/10/2016 08:58

I'm enjoying it all so much more since trial day

I guess there is always a sl that irritates and pip/Jill is it for me at the moment!

ppeatfruit · 19/10/2016 09:19

Yes me too. There's bound to be inter generational friction esp. as they are all so close, literally and emotionally.
