Sorry for the poor title - the end of the last thread has arrived sooner than I thought and I haven't had the benefit of hearing all of the last 2 nights....

Rob's just not getting the hint is he? Why on earth hasn't Kenton barred him? surely they can spare one customer!

Feel like still can't quite enjoy the archers in a relaxed sort of way that I used to as long as Rob is still hanging around like a bad smell!

Shallishanti · 16/10/2016 20:53

yes, why isn't he banned?
slightly worried about Rob essentially forcing P/T to go to BHC....he could easily have brought the stuff to the cafe if he was that bothered, why is he insisting they go there??

Stickerrocks · 16/10/2016 21:38

But that's the whole point. He wants to humiliate Pat'n'Tone. He knows they know he will leave everything for the bin men to collect if they don't fetch it. I would love to hear Tony rev up in a tractor with a slurry trailer on the back and accidentally turn on the sprayer.

TopOfTheCliff · 16/10/2016 21:43

That was a brilliant episode. The action mostly happened between the shop and the pub and we eavesdropped on different conversations and caught up on village life just like you would if you dropped in to your local pub. Fab writing SWs!
I reckon Alice is going to eat her words one day " Me and Chris would never cheat on each other...)

BertrandRussell · 16/10/2016 22:26

I'm starting to get cross again- I think Rob is ceasing to be credible.

ErrolTheDragon · 16/10/2016 23:26

Ed presumably has to bite his tongue with Rob because he can't afford to jeopardise his Estate work.

Squabbling fairbrethren tedious except for their unison 'SHUT UP, ROB' which was perfect.

CeciledeVolanges · 17/10/2016 00:13

I hate unison anything. It never happens in real life and always sounds contrived.

EBearhug · 17/10/2016 00:55

It does happen in real life, and last time it happened with me, we both followed with, "jinx!" like we were still at school. I grant you it's not a common thing, though. OTOH, most of the village is probably going, "fuck off, Rob," on a regular basis, so they're bound to say it at the same time at some point. (Yes, I know that's not an exact quote, but...)

Eastpoint · 17/10/2016 07:03

I loved Kate's line on Friday (a bit behind here) "I haven't done any drama for years."

CeciledeVolanges · 17/10/2016 07:08

Haha, sorry EBearhug that was unnecessarily curmudgeonly of me. I just think more than once is once too many WinkBlush

GypsyFl0ss · 17/10/2016 07:34

I'll be really pissed off if they go down a relationship route with Ed and Alice. Other than that I am really enjoying the day to day archers shizz, just need Knob off fuck off and I'll be a happy woman.

ZuleikaDobson · 17/10/2016 08:51

Since Rob made such an issue of the access visit starting on the dot, I do hope that next time Jack needs a nappy change Helen leaves it for him to do.

TheAntiBoop · 17/10/2016 09:04

Some couples shouldn't be messed with

Ednemmur being one. Susan and Neil another.

Vango · 17/10/2016 09:33

I don't think there's any likelihood of anything happening between Ed and Alice. They're friends, and she's just being eased, by the SWs, back into village life! The farming chat is the only way to facilitate a natural return for her after such a long absence. I think we'll be steering clear of any melodrama for the time being

ppeatfruit · 17/10/2016 09:35

I suppose if he was banned from both places Gaspode we'd only hear him communicating with the bedpost, the poor Bridge Farm residents, and or Arseula, and she's going soon Grin Not, of course, that I WANT to hear him either.

ZuleikaDobson · 17/10/2016 10:27

The obvious person for Alice to be discussing the difficulties of her job with is Chris, but they presumably didn't want to pay the actor.

Vango · 17/10/2016 10:42

But Chris isn't a farmer? Presumably, off-air, she's boring him to tears at home 😁.

Chris is a Farrier. I disagree that Ed "never gets the breaks". He's had several breaks, not least the involvement of Oliver Sterling (providing both employment for Ed and accommodation for his entire extended family). Let's not forget, also, David's help and advice regarding funding for the sheep shearing course. Ed annoys me. He's managed to cultivate quite a 'poor me' attitude and I get fed up of all the moaning.

Vango · 17/10/2016 13:24
  • tired of or fed up with

My own post is annoying me.

GypsyFl0ss · 17/10/2016 13:31

I love Ed and I'm with Francis on the hard grafter/sexy voice.

dailybabystuff · 17/10/2016 13:42

EmilyDickinson poor Jack would stand no chance if children carried the sins of their fathers.

I like to think that if I can wait for 25 years little Jack will have grown up into the second most evil person in Ambridge. It's worth staying healthy for.

TheAntiBoop · 17/10/2016 13:46

He is fine when things are going well but one little thing goes wrong he turns into mr doom and gloom. I find both Grundy brothers are whiny a lot of the time.

He must have remarkable will power though as he kicked the hard drugs impressively well (and quickly)

Will we hear from nic again? Maybe she's having an affair with Chris

In fact, we assumed Alice's 'Chris and I would never cheat' was a precursor to her cheating. Maybe we are about to find out that Chris has been having an affair for years and is going to run off to Canada with his mistress. Then they won't have to bother trawling drama schools to find someone with one of those identikit voices they are so find of recasting the male characters with

TheAntiBoop · 17/10/2016 13:48

Perhaps it will be Henry who is evil and not Jack.
