Sorry for the poor title - the end of the last thread has arrived sooner than I thought and I haven't had the benefit of hearing all of the last 2 nights....

Im beginning to wonder if she knows something else about the fairbrothers that hasnt come out yet as she seems so against them. Also noticed she had a headache at the weekend - mixed with some out of character behaviour?? Hope its not a brain tumour.

ppeatfruit · 11/10/2016 11:00

I can't discuss DT , (vom) it gives me the DTs

AvengingGerbil · 11/10/2016 11:35

Sorry ppeat, didn't mean to cause distress - I was just bemused by my early morning twitter feed conflating the two!

TheAntiBoop · 11/10/2016 11:46

Yes the sab made a complaint and Shula lied to the police - hence the hand wringing about coming clean

Disliking Toby because he reminds her of robin is perfectly valid

Also don't think Toby and pip are serious enough/been together long enough to expect him to be at family events. It's her birthday and she can invite who she wants!!

ppeatfruit · 11/10/2016 13:21

Thanks Errol and Anti I must have missed that Blush !

Aaah Avenging I have made a deliberate decision to avoid Twter . I waste enough time on here let alone on Twitter !

When did Johnny become so empathic and saintly?

EBearhug · 11/10/2016 14:12

She wasn't with Matthew that long, was she? It was only at Christmas that they got together and it was only a few weeks later that he left, and not long after that that they split. And she and Toby have been shagging for longer than anyone else knows, except Jill, who saw them in the middle of the night at Rickyard from Brookfield's kitchen window.

But my brain might be misremembering for the sake of my sanity. And none of that changes that Jill is quite within her rights not to have Toby at her own birthday.

Gherkinsmummy · 11/10/2016 14:14

If Jill keeps being so vehemently anti-Toby she may push Pip closer to him. Rightly or wrongly she might do better to ignore him.

CeciledeVolanges · 11/10/2016 14:41

The petition is that Jill should be allowed to speak her mind about Toby... whatever may be in her mind.

CeciledeVolanges · 11/10/2016 14:42

I think instead of Rob joining UKIP, Farage should join Rob in being prosecuted, his behaviour is certainly a pattern that makes me feel threatened and makes people fear violence :(

Yes and no. I can understand that she doesn't like Fairbrothers in general and him in particular but ... she is 86 y.o. and ought to know by now how to make her displeasure known without throwing her toys out of the pram. A few cutting remarks along the lines of "oh, is Toby coming - I don't remember inviting him. Is Rex coming, too. Have you invited anybody else that I should be aware of?Hmm " should do the trick.

It was an offfhand comment really. However, I would say that it would help the listeners and Pip, and maybe Jill, if Jill was just honest about what bothered her. If my grandmother said "I can't bear to see you with (boyfriend) because he seems a lot like his father whom I knew well and I don't want to see you hurt"calmly I would pay more attention than if she got hysterical and banned him from family events. Mind you I am Pip's age and I would hope to be more sensitive in the first place.

TheAntiBoop · 11/10/2016 17:00

Jill has had a lifetime of being put in the background and putting others first. She's probably not used to asserting herself.

I find the Brookfield archers are horrible to her. Given her age they totally take her for granted and seem to think they are doing her a favour. Maybe we have an elder abuse sl coming our way.

I hope Nancy goes on forever 'her voice crisping round the rim like a margarita' is just sublime.

GypsyFl0ss · 11/10/2016 17:52

Thanks for the NBS link chilli. She is fab.

Gruach · 11/10/2016 18:33

Oh that was good! Wish NBS wrote more often ...

The only slip-up being that Ian is hardly a "new" husband.

Vango · 11/10/2016 18:50

To be fair, they've only been 'married' for ten months!

Minimammoth · 11/10/2016 19:14

Ian to meet up with Charlie in Edinbrough then.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 11/10/2016 19:17

Noooooooooooooooooo!

Please don't go, Ian. Sad

EsmesBees · 11/10/2016 19:21

Enjoyed the aside from the continuity announcer there. Although doubt there is a direct train from Hollerton to Edinburgh...
