Hopefully we can go back to an ordinary tale of country folk?

Spoilers are frowned upon.... There's a thread for that.

well done, Emma!! what a brave woman.

I'm glad he didn't hit her but at the same time it would have been the nail in the coffin - done for assault! Bye bye Rob!

Yes, hopefully Justin will hear about it but Rob could still twist it as "they are lying or exaggerating and just taking Helen's side."

I hope Emma tells Helen about what Rob tried to get her to do.

glowfrog · 30/09/2016 21:14

And yes, Josh is getting on my nerves, too.

ColdTeaAgain · 30/09/2016 21:17

Am sure I detected a slight sleazy tone in his voice at one point too. As if he was trying to win her round by flirting because he wasn't getting anywhere. Pathetic.

PoldarksBreeches · 30/09/2016 21:26

That was an EXCELLENT episode Grin

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 30/09/2016 21:41

Boop Boop. Loved the continuity announcer.

OhTheRoses · 30/09/2016 21:42

Now that was worth suffering last night's drivel for. He'll get beaten to death and the Archer men will be suspects.

BitOutOfPractice · 30/09/2016 21:46

A BOOP from BOOP too. I was holding my breath. I was sure he was going to hit Emma.

What did the CA say? I had to listen on iPlayer and he didn't comment

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 30/09/2016 21:49

"And a nation cheers" from the CA.

ScrumpyBetty · 30/09/2016 21:56

Oooh a bit of drama tonight after a quiet week...loved Emma! Rob is losing control and he doesn't like it.

Ooh, 4 new pages. Did something happen in Ambridge? Grin Thar were a cheering episode on a cold evening.

LillianGish · 30/09/2016 23:02

BOOP

ErrolTheDragon · 30/09/2016 23:19

I reckon they deliberately did a meh epi last night to lull us.

Jolly good. He couldn't have picked worse than Emma. Did he really think he'd bought her for the price of a few babysitting sessions?

ErrolTheDragon · 30/09/2016 23:21

I'm going to have to listen to that again. StarArchersStar

TopazRocks · 30/09/2016 23:51

Errol, that crossed my mind too. Good that we're all so discerning and know the difference between good drama and shite. Smile

I need to LA too. Family all told me it was only Jazzer and Kenton at the Bull/saving Emma. Here I learn David and Josh were there too. I believe you lot of course!! Were Emma and Rob outside when he started shouting? And what was E doing there? Just walking home?

ErrolTheDragon · 30/09/2016 23:51

wittering about doughnuts and old mangles was a perfect low key start.

Hm, wonder whether Rob is going to turn up at the 'friendly' against Darrington? Would he dare now the main menfolk of Ambridge have clearly seen his colours ( and Harrison will have heard the full story via Fallon by then).

EBearhug · 01/10/2016 00:01

I think it was David, Jazzer & Kenton who went to rescue Emma. It wasn't clear if Josh was also there or stayed in the bar.

I suspect Ed may soon find estate work difficult, as Adam will.

xmasadsboohiss · 01/10/2016 00:04

Agree that was good stuff. Who stepped in exactly - have listened to that bit twice but still can't make it it out - Jazzer, David, Kenton and Josh? And who was outside with him at the end - just David and Jazzer? Timothy W is such a good actor and Emma was ace. He reacted as he did because she used almost the exact words Helen had on Custargate night. I think I'm right in that?

ErrolTheDragon · 01/10/2016 00:11

Emma went out of the restaurant to the loo, thats why she was on her own at that point. The voices I could distinguish then were jazzer(obv), kenton (stopping jazzer from tackling rob) and david - i think it was him rather than kenton who told rob to leave, even though as landlord it should have been K. The 'oh yes I can' was David. And it was him outside telling rob not to make any more fuss and go home.

Don't know why ed and will didn't hear the commotion apart from performance fees but maybe just as well.

TopazRocks · 01/10/2016 00:29

Yep, just LA'd and it was David telling Rob to 'go home and sober up'. I now wonder if Jazzer thumped Rob as David said something like 'I suggest you let it go' before that. probably Jazzer had him by the arm at least. Josh had been there earlier when David said 'Josh is buying'. And yes, Emma did say she was with Ed and Will and Nik as it was the little one's birthday. Emma is a vg actor too.

Very satisfying. But I do wonder what Rob will do now. His control is going and he did almost hit Emma. If everyone - Adam, Ed, etc. - refused to work with Rob on estate business, would Justin have to think again? Has Knob signed a contract yet????

TopazRocks · 01/10/2016 00:31

I now have 299 stitches to count - might leave it till tomorrow.Shock

GiddyOnZackHunt · 01/10/2016 00:37

Definitely David telling Rob to go.
I wonder if Adam will be zero to hero at some point. And will Ian be involved?

EBearhug · 01/10/2016 00:48

If everyone - Adam, Ed, etc. - refused to work with Rob on estate business, would Justin have to think again?

I don't think they'll be the ones refusing - I think Ada and Ed have enough professionalism to grit their teeth and get on with it. But I can imagine that Ed might find the only estate work coming his way is unpaid hedging (didn't he only have to do that for a year? His time must almost be up.) And I can also imagine Rob just overriding Adam, telling estate staff to do the opposite of what Adam wants, but without telling him and generally causing chaos without ever admitting any part of the fault but blaming Adam all the time.

GiddyOnZackHunt · 01/10/2016 00:57

Can Ed have Rob's job with Adam mentoring him?

LadyConstanceDeCoverlet · 01/10/2016 01:05

I hope word of that episode will get back to Justin, and that he will take a dim view of his estate manager attacking women publicly.

I suppose Rob thought Kenton was bound to sympathise with him just because he assumes all men think of women the way he does. I hope Kenton bars him from now on anyway.

I also hope Emma tells Helen about the attempt to see Henry. It's contempt of court, isn't it?
