Hopefully we can go back to an ordinary tale of country folk?

Spoilers are frowned upon.... There's a thread for that.

When Rob was getting the violins out about how difficult and time consuming it was to source the special gold coloured cardboard for Henry, was anyone else thinking "You poor dear, it must have have taken you all of two minutes on Amazon"?

BitOutOfPractice · 01/10/2016 03:32

Emma was in the Bull with Nic (remember her?) I think. I'm sure she said "I won't be a second Nic" as she went to the loo. Need to LA as the kids kept interrupting

GypsyFl0ss · 01/10/2016 06:15

I heard her say Nic too Boop

Gherkinsmummy · 01/10/2016 07:29

Absolutely LadyC. 2 mins on Amazon or a quick trip to Hobbycraft

Gherkinsmummy · 01/10/2016 07:41

I just la and it's great that they didn't use Ed or Will as witnesses to the fight. Rob was seen attempting to attack Emma by men not related to her so he can't claim they were biased/conspiring against him/mad fantasists. And I expect he, in normal circs, would consider David and Kenton as worth keeping on side.

R4 · 01/10/2016 09:05

I love Ebear's typo. We should all call Adam 'Ada' from now on.Grin

I suppose Rob thought Kenton was bound to sympathise with him ...
Didn't Rob pack Kenton off on a slow train to Wales on the stag do? Has Kenton forgiven him? I doubt it.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 01/10/2016 09:55

Did he really think he'd bought her for the price of a few babysitting sessions?

The "happy to take my money" line was awful wasn't it? As if Emma had done something wrong or underhand in being paid for child minding.

I'm glad that Emma had a chance to speak to Helen before she was subjected to that.

GrumpyOldBag · 01/10/2016 10:35

Have we heard Susan's reaction to the trial evidence & verdict & decision on kids etc?

I haven't managed to listen to all of it.

ibrowze · 01/10/2016 10:41

I just wish I hadn't felt a bit unsettled by Rob getting drunk. Seems such a controlling person might not get pissed in public? But for story development v good.

Standing up for hard of hearing who find it difficult to differentiate voices when they talk over each other like in jury episode.

Tried buying only one sheet of gold card to make a pro EU poster for car recently, and found myself nodding in agreement with Rob Confused

RamsayBoltonsConscience · 01/10/2016 10:50

Just caught up from last night. God that was a good episode, found myself frozen in the middle of the kitchen with my heart thumping at the end. I did think he was going to hit Emma. There'll be more "Woe is me, that bitch has turned the village against me..." from Rob now as he is psychologically unable to see that his actions have caused all of this.

BoreOfWhabylon · 01/10/2016 11:05

Giddy it would be fantastic if Ed got the job instead of Knob, wouldn't it? He deserves a break and it's about time TA had a working-class character make good.

R4 · 01/10/2016 11:18

Bring back Debbie!

TheAntiBoop · 01/10/2016 11:25

I don't think ed is in anyway qualified though - knobs job is managerial and probably involves spreadsheets. Ed is a doer not a thinker. Maybe Adam could do it and ed could take Adams role. Although both are better suited to doing and thinking about actual farming - robs role is managing the whole estate.

Although I'm not sure knob is qualified either but it's clearly just a plot device so maybe they could change the role again once knob gets kicked out of it

I reckon there will be The Works in Borchester, and Hobbycraft in Felpersham, but those are women's shops, so he'll have got his mum to go.

glowfrog · 01/10/2016 11:57

Rob is so creepy, i actually thought he might sexually assault Emma rather than just hit her.

glowfrog · 01/10/2016 11:59

Belated thank you to all those who watched Thursday's and commented btw - you saved me from wasting 15mn of my life, although part of me was looking forward to Toby being found out. Only so Rex would punch him, understand, but he's too wet even for that.

redshoeblueshoe · 01/10/2016 12:05

R4 I agree, I was hoping David would say OK -£400 that's your rent for this month

Cecile I loved your blog

ColdTeaAgain · 01/10/2016 12:33

Surely there is no way he will keep his job now! No wife. No children. No house. No job. And now everyone now knows the real Rob without any doubt.

I think that's completely in character. He can't handle the fact that he is failing every time he tries to manipulate the current situation this way. He thought it was an incredibly clever plan to get the card to Henry and talk to him, because it would give him a chance to drip poison into Henry's ear and show Helen that she can't get things her own way. When he said to Emma that no-one would find out, he knew perfectly well that Henry wouldn't be able to keep it secret - so he would achieve the twin benefits of scoring one over Helen and driving a wedge between her and Emma. So when that failed, and failed moreover because a woman, and a lower-class one at that, refused to help him and reminded him about the pesky court order, he simply couldn't handle it and the only refuge was the bottle.

Scorbus · 01/10/2016 13:21

Just LA and a massive BOOP for that episode

enochroot · 01/10/2016 13:38

If Rob has the estate manager's job now he'll be a nightmare. He's got no one he can directly dominate at home and I hope the cricket club will cold-shoulder him so he'll take it out on underlings at work. He'll make Ed suffer for what Emma said and push Adam to the limits. Imagine him discovering Eddie's poaching or that Will covered up the last attempt.

enochroot · 01/10/2016 13:45

I know my memory is a tad faulty at times but I am convinced that when Shula told Caroline about the SAB incident before the Tuscan sojourn Oliver was also told about it.
