As doors slam shut in Rob's face and behind SOC, a new door opens for the next Archers editor. Are we expecting some New Tricks, or just Archenders?

Welcome one and all. No spoilers please!

Going to the hairdresser (whilst taking her Grandmother), just doesn't chime with someone in a depressive state.

Lucky they didn't bring up her driving offences thoughWink

redshoeblueshoe · 15/09/2016 12:46

I think its totally irrelevant where Helen was. When I look after my GC sometimes it is out of necessity and the majority of times its for fun.
ibrowze - I'm amazed they haven't !

TeenyfTroon · 15/09/2016 12:46

Great title, thanks, Pseudo!
Thinking that calling the NewEd 'Who' will confuse me. He's Hoo in my head.

JudyCoolibar · 15/09/2016 12:51

If Rob's barrister was trying to make out that not being glued to your child's side at all times makes you an unfit parent, it is an equally pertinent question where Rob was at the time of the bull incident.

TheAntiBoop · 15/09/2016 13:11

The Brookfield archers have managed to raise two complete twats. Let's hope Ben's neglect stands him in better stead

ibrowze · 15/09/2016 13:45

If you're going to 'hang out' in the altogether, get yr friend with benefits to lock the door. (Unless you're half hoping someone will pop in)

ppeatfruit · 15/09/2016 13:50

Thanks Psuedo good title! I hope the new editor reads this thread!

I don't get why "I luurve Tuscany" Caro can't wait a while till poor old Joe pops his clogs. Of course it could be another 10 years Grin

Mind you with the political state that Italy's in you wouldn't catch me wanting to buy a place there. It's lovely geographically, but too hot and the bureaucracy makes France's look positively benign!

Vango · 15/09/2016 14:02

ibrowze I got the feeling Toby was sitting on or at the table waiting to surprise P when she walked in the door 😁.

Tuktuktaker · 15/09/2016 14:09

Gawd, Vango, might you not be overthinking this a tad?

ppeatfruit · 15/09/2016 14:17

Toby should 've worn a pinny over his penxx !!! Lucky Pip!!!

SingingAvocado · 15/09/2016 14:29

Oh no, ppeatfruit, conjuring up visions of those Butlers in the Buff (I went to a 40th and they were the waiters – I didn't quite know where to look)!

xmasadsboohiss · 15/09/2016 14:32

WTAF with Toby and Pip!!!!! I wasn't listening over the summer so did they get together then or was last night's the first anyone knew about it? Pip and Josh are properly odious there's no two ways about that.

Vango · 15/09/2016 14:40

Tuktuk Listen again! You know I'm right! The SWs attempt at a 'comedy' storyline (as opposed to any kind of romance) 😁.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 15/09/2016 14:43

Re Helen's ED - I dimly remember that when Pat and Tony were very worried about her after Greg died, there was some dialogue that seemed to suggest that it had happened before. I was on the BBC Archers messageboard then (RIP Sad) and many of us were very puzzled about this, as we couldn't recall any mention of Helen having any problem before. Pat had a major depressive episode, but Helen was working away running the dairy while Pat recuperated with the nuns in Prestatyn.

SingingAvocado · 15/09/2016 14:54

xmas I can't quite remember when Pip and Toby got together but it has been a couple of months probably. Also Jill saw him leaving Pip's house one night and warned her off him but she hasn't listened. I think Rex (who adores her) doesn't know yet!

StubbleTurnips · 15/09/2016 15:24

xmas it was early July in the podcasts I was catching up on, he took her up the Lakey Hill - that's when the snogging started.

StubbleTurnips · 15/09/2016 15:26

There was then some to and fro regarding a dirty weekend that never happened.

Tuktuktaker · 15/09/2016 16:10

I thought everything was concentrated on Pat's depression after Jahhhnnn's death and Hellbent, rather than having an eating disorder, was busy lording it over Hayley and forcing her out of the family business despite Hayley's best efforts to act in tune with what John would have wanted for his sossidge empire? I have a lasting memory of Helen being an utter bitch after her brother's death, but not of her being ill because of it.
NOOOOOOOOAAHHH, Vango, I am not going to listen to that distasteful scene again, thank you!

ErrolTheDragon · 15/09/2016 16:11

'We bought our DS an expensive laptop, he's just flogged it on Ebay. AIBU to want to say something more than 'Ooaah Nooooh'?'

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 15/09/2016 16:28

Errol Grin

Tuktuk, that's how I remember it. It's not just SOC who rewrote TA history to suit his latest whim. Vanessa Whitburn had form for doing that as well.

Alleycat1 · 15/09/2016 16:32

Yes, Tuktuk Helen was vile to Hayley after John's death.

JudyCoolibar · 15/09/2016 16:53

Josh is a git to flog a new laptop for, presumably, half what it was worth. If the egg empire is that hard up that he can't raise £250 by any other means then it's in deep trouble.

R4 · 15/09/2016 17:23

He didn't get much for the laptop, did he - £250 is mere chicken feed.

ba-dum-tsh!

NotdeadyetBOING · 15/09/2016 17:24

Found you all. Blimey these threads are moving along smartly, aren't they? .

Redcliff · 15/09/2016 17:29

Thanks for the woman's hour mention - managed to listen this afternoon. I would love it if Pat had to supervise contact with Rob - after all his lording ways it would be a good comeuppance
