As doors slam shut in Rob's face and behind SOC, a new door opens for the next Archers editor. Are we expecting some New Tricks, or just Archenders?

Welcome one and all. No spoilers please!

OP posts:

Parental Responsibility counted for naught then.

JudyCoolibar · 16/09/2016 19:27

I assume the "uplifting" stuff from Tony and Helen was in effect SOC's valedictory - effectively "Look, I put you through all that stress but I've given you a happy ending".

What I don't get at all is: if the SW saw all that evidence of Rob being a danger to Henry, she must have known it before the criminal trial. It can't all have come out within the couple of days before the Family Court hearing, surely. So how come it wasn't used then? And indeed, how come Henry was left with Rob?

ColdTeaAgain · 16/09/2016 19:27

Amazing! Genuinely didn't think the outcome would be that good! Rob will absolutely loath being supervised by Pat and Tony, one wonders if he will even bother with it. Can imagine him always having an excuse for not being able to make it each time.
Oh please, please let Justin retract the job offer now, maybe that would be enough to make him pack and leave for good.

Not sure about Tom and Kirty, I can sort of understand them being wrapped up in the emotion of it all. I'm not anti them getting back together but I think it needs to be a gradual thing not all of sudden everything is fine again. Kirtsy has her head screwed on. She won't let herself get hurt again.

That's the best episode I've heard in months and months! Really happy. So uplifting to hear it going the right way for a change. We need more judges like that. I've told the whole family but they just don't care. I don't even mind K and T, a quick &£@"to celebrate. I agree with vango this has changed them all and their view of relationships. Grown up.
Personally I'd enjoy the night and enjoy saying 'that was fun, see ya'
Just for the glory.

JudyCoolibar · 16/09/2016 19:28

Sorry, SW in that last post= social worker, not scriptwriter.

BlackeyedSusan · 16/09/2016 19:31

not so keen on will either. he was a bit titchner about nic, though nic was not so good herself smacking george. bloody personality transplants he sounds whiney and he has not been v nice to ed. his inheritance was bloody annoying, especially the way he treated ed over it.

lots of the younger ones are maturing and turning out better. I like Emma, Jonny is great.

EveEveEve · 16/09/2016 19:33

Much cheering here!
Rob will use any relationship Helen gets into as reason to challenge his son's safety. This could run and run...

ScrumpyBetty · 16/09/2016 19:36

What a lovely episode! Agree we need to hear much more of Rob's suffering, so pleased for Helen and high five for Pat!

paulapantsdown · 16/09/2016 19:36

So Helens needs
A divorce
An injunction
Rob out of the cottage so she can move back in

spiker · 16/09/2016 19:38

Will Knob flip and be dangerous now? Brood on it and blame all the people (I.e. Women) whose Fault It Is!

spiker · 16/09/2016 19:38

*?

Gherkinsmummy · 16/09/2016 19:39

If I were Helen I wouldn't move back to Bloody Hell Cottage! I'd want to stay at bridge farm in the bosom of my family

Vango · 16/09/2016 19:39

Crikey Paula, I can't see Helen ever wanting to set foot over the threshold of Blossom Hill Cottage ever again!

BurnTheBlackSuit · 16/09/2016 19:39

I thought Sunday last was SOCs final episode?

Vango · 16/09/2016 19:40

Cross post Gherkins 😁

ColdTeaAgain · 16/09/2016 19:40

Would you want to move back into the house you were kept virtually a prisoner in though? If I was Helen I think I'd want a completely fresh start. Agree about him being booted out of course, come on Usha where are you?

Vango · 16/09/2016 19:41

His final episode as both Ed and Director Burns. He's still the Editor this week.

Gherkinsmummy · 16/09/2016 19:42

😀
It's probably also a lot safer for Helen and her boys to stay where there are plenty of people around.

Gherkinsmummy · 16/09/2016 19:45

Can Rob appeal? I can see this running and running.

ChillieJeanie · 16/09/2016 19:48

Number 1 The Green is going to be available though, if the Grundies are staying put. Helen and the boys could always move in there, but they would be best off staying at Bridge Farm.

Putthetulipsthere · 16/09/2016 19:48

lots of cheering going on here - but only by me as DS & DP keep saying ' it's not real'. 😬😬

Tuktuktaker · 16/09/2016 19:49

If Justin Elliott is so concerned with his PR look in Borchester, he'll hardly want to be associated with a man who has been accused by not one, but two, wives, of rape and who has had the child for whom he has parental responsibility removed from him permanently and only supervised contact with his own baby who is the result of rape, will he?

Tuktuktaker · 16/09/2016 19:49

When I wrote Borchester, I Trolloped, sorry, meant Borsetshire.

spiker · 16/09/2016 19:55

That never occurred to me Tuktuk - is Borsetshire a nod to Trollope?

TheAntiBoop · 16/09/2016 19:57

Goes I'm the only one who is dining it all a bit of a cop out!

Basically if you listen to the archers back when soc started and now we are back to the same position pretty much
