What day is it again?

OP posts:
JudyCoolibar · 08/09/2016 22:13

Glowfrog, yes the jurors do discuss the case, but they're not allowed to talk about it to anyone outside the jury. Also ISTR they were told that if they did talk about it, it had to be when all the jury was present, i.e they couldn't go off in huddles of two or three to discuss it.

BurnTheBlackSuit · 08/09/2016 22:14

Has anyone looked on Twitter for the jurors tweets BTW?

MissBrooke · 08/09/2016 22:16

I hope to see them all wiping the egg off their chins: Linda was in full support of knob, Jazzer made antagonising comments about Hellin in the name of banter, Eddie. Who else?
I hope they're all sorry.

Cromwell1536 · 08/09/2016 22:17

Vango, I have to disagree about Ian: he threw Hellin under the bus, preferring to dump her as a friend rather than confront Adam (who is a bit of a turd) about his infidelity and have to pick up the consequences. Weak. Oh, please let Henry be whisked out of Knob's care. I stopped listening for a good while because I found that element of the story so painful.

MissBrooke · 08/09/2016 22:19

Great post Cromwell couldn't agree more. About Ian and about Henwee

Cromwell1536 · 08/09/2016 22:22

Utterly weird how it got to me. I had a nightmare about the poor child one night!

xmasadsboohiss · 08/09/2016 22:23

Will Ian and Adam split? I think so. Their relationship is a proper snoozeathon. Beaten only by Roooth and Daaaavid's incessant breathy conversations and cups of coffee.

JasperDamerel · 08/09/2016 22:27

I don't think they will split. Ian married Adam knowing about the infidelity. Adam will be humiliated and wallow in guilt, and Ian will be gutted that everyone in the village knows, but if Brian and Jennifer can stay together, I don't see what Ian and Adam can't.

Cromwell1536 · 08/09/2016 22:29

mmm, they might. Ian will be wracked with guilt, and realise that he has compromised friendships and the trooth, rooth, in order to hang on to his peaceful life. He will look at JennyDarling, and all the compromises she has made to 'save' her marriage (and the money it entails) and realise that that is his future if he doesn't end it now. But I don't think the SW will fling that particular twist at us this week. Just sow the seeds...

Imbroglio · 08/09/2016 22:32

I think Ian will have realised while giving evidence that he should have confronted Adam rather than taking it out on Helen.

Lucky for most of us that we don't have our life choices challenged and examined in court.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 08/09/2016 22:34

I have no memory at all of Cameron Fraser or anyone else ever attempting to rape Shula. I do remember Simon Pemberton slapping her and her angst when he went on to attack Debbie.

ErrolTheDragon · 08/09/2016 22:35

Given that presumably Henry might be re-examined, and theres the custody (rob is innocent till proved guilty) he'll be trying to maintain his best Good Daddy guise. Whether he can do it with Ursula and Bruce there though - Bruce can't even bring himself to call Henry by name fgs.

Mootsie · 08/09/2016 22:36

If Bruce and Arseula are staying at BHC poor Henry must be having a horrible time. I'm surprised Pat and Tony haven't raised concerns about his welfare even though they have a lot on their minds.

Vango · 08/09/2016 22:40

I have a completely different view of Ian's actions Cromwell. As far as Ian knew, Helen had chosen to marry someone who obviously couldn't stand him (Ian), who had taunted him and goaded him in the past, who sneered at and mocked women at every opportunity. Ian had the measure of Rob from the beginning but for Helen's sake put up with him. Until the moment that Rob delighted in revealing that H had told him all about Adam's infidelity. Right before the wedding. I think it's too much to accuse Ian of throwing her under a bus. He and Kirsty were the only ones consistently pointing out Rob's true nature and Helen didn't want to hear it.

Vango · 08/09/2016 22:44

One more thing! I don't think confronting Adam before the wedding would have made any difference to Ian's feelings towards Helen. As far as Ian was concerned, Helen should have told him what she knew, rather than confiding in Rob (who she knew couldn't stand Ian).

JasperDamerel · 08/09/2016 22:44

It will make things even more awkward for Adam if Rob stays on in his job. Maybe he and Ian will move abroad, like they discussed doing a while ago. That would be a shame, because they are both pretty good characters.

Imbroglio · 08/09/2016 22:46

Yes but Ian lost it with Helen when he thought she had let him down by not telling him about Adam.

Eastpoint · 08/09/2016 22:49

Ian has never hidden his dislike of Rob, didn't he punch him when there was that mountain bike event up Lakey Hill after the last Olympics (or something like that).

Eastpoint · 08/09/2016 22:49

PS thank you for the new thread Pseudo.

BoffinMum · 08/09/2016 22:50

Henwee can come over here. We both have DBS. He can play with DC4 (7) Grin

ibrowze · 08/09/2016 22:51

Was Stefan a dairy worker? I'm a bit hazy and lazy but about agri side if TA so you could well be right Bore. Come to think of it he was on Berrow Farm payroll wasn't he which was how Knob managed to 'lose him
to a family crisis' back in Poland (or similar), so yes you're right.

LillianGish · 08/09/2016 22:51

How fitting if it is Bruce who proves to be Knob's downfall - by creating a monster in the first place and then through his own monstrous behaviour in court. Really hoping today results in Henwee being removed from Knob's clutches.

Vango · 08/09/2016 22:52

If Helen was supposed to be Ian's best friend why didn't she tell him instead of Rob? Is how Ian felt, unsurprisingly at the time.

Vango · 08/09/2016 22:55

Ian punched Rob after much goading as they cycled past Peggy's cottage and Rob had delighted in telling him how it would soon be his. Also much goading about being a fat man.

LillianGish · 08/09/2016 22:55

Vango I think your analysis of Helen/Knob/Ian is spot on.
