What day is it again?

OP posts:

Don't think so. They were meant to say goodbye at Archers but Adam got there too late

HometoMandalay · 08/09/2016 21:15

Cross posts with Errol

I don't suppose the prosecution barrister is happy (and I don't understand why he was having a cosy chat with Rob and Bruce, he's not working for Rob), but presumably his duty is to make the best of it: will the jury think the evidence that Rob is a nasty piece of work is enough to justify Helen's claim that she only wielded the knife in self-defence fearing for her life?

Or maybe, she's guilty of wounding, but the judge will use the character stuff (Rob's and Helen's) to be lenient in sentencing?

BoreOfWhabylon · 08/09/2016 21:16

Shula is going to turn to DocDick for comfort isn't she?

And will be repelled Grin

TheAntiBoop · 08/09/2016 21:17

Is there some pavel/stefan confusion going on here!!

BoreOfWhabylon · 08/09/2016 21:18

Didn't Caroline have a marriage to someone who, beat her up? The same one who then moved on to Debbie?

JudyCoolibar · 08/09/2016 21:19

Ian can't rely on the possibility of the stuff about Adam not making the news or not finding its way back to Ambridge. If this were a real case, I can just see some spiteful paper like the Mail making sure it was reported with snidey little insinuations round her cousin being promiscuous.

Yes, the girl Charlie was with was his sister.

HometoMandalay · 08/09/2016 21:19

Debbie's abusive ex was Simon Pemberton. He was also abusive to someone else - was it Shula, when he two-times her?

HometoMandalay · 08/09/2016 21:20

Caroline was married to Guy Pemberton, Simon's dad

Imbroglio · 08/09/2016 21:24

Totally agree that Cathy's absence is a huge omission. Cathy practically lived at bridge farm at one point.

HometoMandalay · 08/09/2016 21:24

Simon Pemberton background in 'Villains and Rogues' here:

I wonder where they keep the sackcloth and ashes in the village shop - up the 14th aisle maybe.Smile I'm going to LA when the youf gets back from youf club - and give him his laptop back .

enochroot · 08/09/2016 21:26

She turned out to be Charlie's sister.

TopazRocks · 08/09/2016 21:27

Yes, Shula first, then Debbie. He hit them both, though Knob would describe Shula's as 'more of a slap actually'. Debbie was beaten up quite badly and hearing of her injuries had the lying horsewoman doing the right thing for once.

Fink · 08/09/2016 21:27

I wonder where they keep the sackcloth and ashes in the village shop - up the 14th aisle maybe.

They're hidden under the day-glo tabards, only for those in the know. Or maybe the tabards are the sackcloth and ashes.

TopazRocks · 08/09/2016 21:28

Rebecca, i seem to recall, was Charlie's sis. Don't anyone tell me my memory is carp.

BoreOfWhabylon · 08/09/2016 21:31

Ah yes, Simon Pemberton. Son of Guy P, who was married to Caroline.

He had a relationship with Shula, then beat her up, then moved on to Debbie and beat her up too.

ibrowze · 08/09/2016 21:33

Pawel = Polish fruit picker who had lusty affair with Adam

Stefan = Polish fruit picker who witnessed Rob blocking culvert with plastic to limit flood water to Berrow Farm (causing Ambridge to flood much worse than it wld have done)

Both Eastern Europeans not 100% sure they were both Polish though

BoreOfWhabylon · 08/09/2016 21:33

We are alł madly cross-posting Grin

(or cross-posting madly)

Mrscog · 08/09/2016 21:34

Maybe Shula can redeem herself by remembering when she say Rob controlling Helen in the shop - does anyone else remember that scene? 'Sit DOWN Helen'? Could be useful in a coercive control case.

BoreOfWhabylon · 08/09/2016 21:34

Wasn't Stefan a dairy worker in the mega-dairy?

xmasadsboohiss · 08/09/2016 21:36

It looks like there isn't an episode tomorrow evening? At least there isn't one listed on the Radio 4 website.

Tim Watson and Louiza P are amazing actors. It wouldn't be anywhere near as good if Rob and Helen were being played by the Pip and Rudolph or whatever that annoying chicken brother is called.

enochroot · 08/09/2016 21:36

Thread's moving too fast for me!

If there is to be a mis-trial then I think the CPS might drop the case then, hopefully, prosecute Rob though I think this tweeting juror is just a device to heighten suspense and it will proceed with one jurer less.

enochroot · 08/09/2016 21:40

Won't a re-run of the trial put the kybosh on Carol's plans for a holiday with Anna?

JudyCoolibar · 08/09/2016 21:41

xmas, so far as I can see there is an episode listed tomorrow? www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006qpgr/broadcasts/upcoming
