Will this thread see the end of The Trial? And SOC?

Have Elizabeth & Richard started making slurping noises then? Now we just need Shula to find out.

Bea · 29/08/2016 19:27

The antiboop!... Barrista!! I like your theory and much more preferable to the actual storyline!!

HalsallRedux · 29/08/2016 19:37

TheAntiBoop I advanced the Not-Barrister-but-Barista theory a couple of threads back when Anna was being particularly useless wet dim clueless slow.

Glad to see great minds are thinking alike, though! Grin

TheAntiBoop · 29/08/2016 19:38

Elizabeth seemed hesitant to be slurped at (but being Lizzie she will play coy for 30 seconds) - unfortunately dickies uber arrived before she could stop being coy

TheAntiBoop · 29/08/2016 19:40

great minds indeed halsall!!

She is definitely a tv barrister rather than a 'real' barrister, and we all know that actors spend more time waiting tables than acting, so Anna probably does have more barrista experience

TASWAMA

EBearhug · 29/08/2016 19:51

Glad to see you're all as shocked as I was at that total surprise of Max's voice.

Surely a SH domestic-abuse-specialist barrister would be aware that stalking your ex isn't really a wise move? I know she's being portrayed badly anyway (Anna, rather than Max,) but really, can't there be a tiny, eensie little bit of credibility?

And Richard seemed more bothered that Freddy wasn't letting Elizabeth have her own life than that she'd been with a married man. Not that he's in any position to preach on that one, but she was careful to flag it up. (Although didn't mention it was Roy.)

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 29/08/2016 19:59

Ooh they got me with the Max storyline.

JudyCoolibar · 29/08/2016 20:04

It was so pathetic the way that, for the very first time, she addressed Max as MaxINE. I could almost hear SOC cackling to himself "Maxine? See? Geddit? It's a GIRL's name, geddit? You all assumed it was Maximilian but I conned you, aren't I clever? And you can't say I misled you because I made sure that she was never referred to as she OR he? I'm so clever".

thissismyusername · 29/08/2016 20:10

got me too

TheAntiBoop · 29/08/2016 20:12

Socs problem is that he has such ludicrous ideas there is no possibility of shocking people

As much as I hoped the stabbing wouldn't happen I wasn't surprised when it did. Just like all of these sl

SenoritaViva · 29/08/2016 20:19

There's something about Richard's voice that is so unconvincing as a man two women will fall for (Lizzie and Shula).

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 29/08/2016 20:26

Yes. Agreed. Same as Roy's. Richard's is all pipe and slippers and potting sheds and generally fussy.

Ian has a very fanciable voice.

SenoritaViva · 29/08/2016 20:33

all pipe and slippers and potting sheds absolutely!

TheAntiBoop · 29/08/2016 20:35

I guess dickie will be prescribing himself viagra to keep up with the rampant widow

He makes me think of Bernard cribbins

EBearhug · 29/08/2016 20:39

I quite like Richard's voice (but I was thinking earlier that the shed roof could do with refelting, so perhaps that's the attraction...)

TheAntiBoop · 29/08/2016 20:40

It's a distinctive voice at least

ColdTeaAgain · 29/08/2016 20:53

Just joining the chorus on the Anna character. It's making me so mad! Of course a female barrister interested in women's issues has to be a lesbian. "Normal" women don't do difficult job. But she can't be strong and focused. Nope, she's rather unstable and needy too. These women really should leave the tough jobs to the men. Hmm

If Anna is here to stay then I really won't mind a character transplant in her case when SOC finally sods off!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 29/08/2016 21:00

Echoed on all points re Anna. Infuriating. Angry

Meanwhile, a current court case between warring parents who each call their daughter a different name! Link is to Belfast Telegraph.

MephistoMarley · 29/08/2016 21:25

I've come across a family where the parents live together but call their child different names Hmm

mummytime · 29/08/2016 21:33

Max sounded very like both Jess and Anna, in fact it's great she won't be staying as it would be too confusing. I would like Kaz to reoccur as she was distinguishable (is that a word? It should be for radio).
Max did sound competent unlike Anna, maybe she should have the case?

BiscuitMillionaire · 29/08/2016 21:38

I predict that Anna will lose Helen's case, Helen will be sentenced to prison, Anna will have a breakdown necessitating her staying in Ambridge. Then some important piece of evidence will emerge re Rob's dirty deeds, and they'll win an appeal.

PseudoBadger · 29/08/2016 21:40

"unfortunately dickies uber arrived before she could stop being coy"

Somehow I read this as his "uber dick arrived so she stopped being coy" Grin It's been a long day....

Hopefully Anna will have a breakdown tonight enabling a decent barrister to be appointed at the last minute.

Stickerrocks · 29/08/2016 21:57

Missed tonight, but Anna & Max have barely had chance to be married, let alone head for divorce. 2 years is very quick. Do we know how long they were together?
