Will this thread see the end of The Trial? And SOC?

It's because soc can't do radio

So did helpline lady turn up?

Gruach · 06/09/2016 19:23

I wonder who, in the village, will stand by him now?

GypsyFl0ss · 06/09/2016 19:24

I thought the comparison between earlier and then the raw emotion of naming what had happened was very strong.

Olympiathequeen · 06/09/2016 19:24

Selsig. Don't bother complaining to the bbc. I did about a comedy program called Lance where the comedian said (referring to 'oop North') ......"where they bury children on the moor". Omfg

Apparently humour isn't universal and what I didn't find funny, other people would, according to the BBC.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 06/09/2016 19:25

Totally agree selsigfach. Bloody bumbling Pat "n Tone. I was shouting at them to shut up, but they ignored me. We all need to write to Feedback (which I'm sure could be an Archers special next week)

Vango · 06/09/2016 19:25

Could it be Jess? To corroborate Helen's story and talk about their meeting?

JudyCoolibar · 06/09/2016 19:26

Just a few leading questions there from Anna which should have had the judge telling her off in a big way.

Gruach · 06/09/2016 19:26

I'm hoping it's Jess who's turned up and is waiting outside the courtroom.

Gumpendorf · 06/09/2016 19:26

That must have been a huge contraction in time. Ursula, Pat, the remaining prosecution witnesses and possibly Anna's opening statement. And we joined Helen's evidence in the middle. This trial is going v fast.

JudyCoolibar · 06/09/2016 19:27

I thought it could have been Jess who turned up. I doubt the helpline person would have turned up out of the blue.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 06/09/2016 19:27

I think it's Jess. I think the note (in true TV/film drama style) suggested that Anna should ask Helen about rape. As if that would never have occurred to a SHL specialising in domestic violence cases before now! Transfer to conveyancing, Anna!

EmilyDickinson · 06/09/2016 19:27

I think that Anna's had a note from her assistant (assistant sounds wrong, wouldn't it be junior counsel?) to say that Jess has agreed to give evidence.

Fink · 06/09/2016 19:28

Oh yes, Jess, I forgot about her. That's probably it.

BoreOfWhabylon · 06/09/2016 19:28

Not helpline woman

JESS

Jess has turned up in the nick of time to confirm that she too has been raped by Rob

(I do hope this is what happens)

BoreOfWhabylon · 06/09/2016 19:29

X post with Gasp0

('twas ever thus Grin )

EmilyDickinson · 06/09/2016 19:30

Cross posted with everyone!

I think Jess knew / guessed that Helen had been raped, so maybe she's arrived and told them they should ask Helen about it.

BoreOfWhabylon · 06/09/2016 19:30

And Emily

spiker · 06/09/2016 19:30

It's only Tuesday...so quite a lot of time to get through and the mega episode too

Gherkinsmummy · 06/09/2016 19:32

Dying to listen! Am on train with no headphones aargh

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 06/09/2016 19:32

Jess did know. It's what they talked about two days before the attack. Helen seems to have put that out of her mind until now too.

BoreOfWhabylon · 06/09/2016 19:32

Cross-posted with everyone, in fact Blush

We are all brillant!

GrumpyOldBag · 06/09/2016 19:34

well that bit of testimony came a lot sooner than I was expecting!

Stickerrocks · 06/09/2016 19:38

Legal experts - does Anna have to change to gently question Henry and can Rob be questioned again or do they only have the one chance?

TopazRocks · 06/09/2016 19:38

Oh my goodness, I was mopping up tears too. The acting was excellent. By Louiza, I mean. Pat and Arsula were true to form, sadly.

So were there 3 Titchiknobs in the gallery? Did we hear Ars gasping? And did Knob say anything? I wish they'd play the whole week again with silence in the gallery. I know it won't happen.

I did want to ask, of the legal eagles, if Helen is believed, that means Rob and Ars have both perjured themselves. Which we all knew anyway. So would they IRL receive a warning from the Judge if they are called to give evidence again? And then how soon would they face consequences of having lied through their teeth?

BoreOfWhabylon · 06/09/2016 19:38

YY Grumpy - wonder what else SOC has up his sleeve to fill up the week?
