Will this thread see the end of The Trial? And SOC?

WHEN is SOC going to go???

TopazRocks · 06/09/2016 18:32

GrinDH actually pointed out at Christmas last that his name, which normally doesn't feature in TA, was actually in use. Of course i have already mentioned his choosing of a confirmation name, whenever little Catholics get confirmed (at 7, I think?), was influenced by TA. As most of my relatives are dead, i don't imagine any of them is on MN but just in case .

TopazRocks · 06/09/2016 18:34

2 actuallys. My bad. Sorry.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 06/09/2016 18:37

Cecile, damn, rumbled! Grin

Actually, no. According to this useful webpage I've just found, his namesake was a Gloucester Old Spot, and I assume became bacon a long time ago.

DadDadDad · 06/09/2016 18:42

Well just think how I feel: both my first name and middle name are the names of Titchener men. Sad

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 06/09/2016 18:45

Gideon Miles?

TopazRocks · 06/09/2016 18:47

Well, i was going to suggest Jessie should call her son Bruce! A few months ago a woman wrote to the Guardian to complain that she and her husband were called Rob and Ursula. My name is a character who nobody seems to like. No, not Arsula.

spiker · 06/09/2016 18:48

Hazel??

ErrolTheDragon · 06/09/2016 18:49

Surely not Robert (the) Bruce?

Love the animals page, though it needs updating.

ErrolTheDragon · 06/09/2016 18:49

Topaz, there are so many to choose from!

TopazRocks · 06/09/2016 18:50

And if you were Scottish, DDD, which i assume you aren't, you'd already have had decades of teasing about being Robert the Bruce?

spiker · 06/09/2016 18:50

I really really like Ursula as a name and it would have been in my top 5 if I'd had a DD (2x DS here)

spiker · 06/09/2016 18:51

...I also really really like Bruce as a name.

(Is there something wrong with me??)

TopazRocks · 06/09/2016 18:52

I used to know a lovely woman called Ursula. She was German and Jewish and had escaped via the Kindertransport. I will try to remember her when the name comes up.

ErrolTheDragon · 06/09/2016 18:53

All our family have TA names, though the dog's is a diminutive form.

Has anyone done a spoof babynames thread recently?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 06/09/2016 18:56

We did actually think briefly of calling our son Miles, and Robert was a top favourite of mine, but not my husband's, so we went with another name. Phew!

spiker · 06/09/2016 19:10

Thomas the Rabbit!

BoreOfWhabylon · 06/09/2016 19:12

oklumberjack · 06/09/2016 19:16

SealSong · 06/09/2016 19:16

shinynewusername · 06/09/2016 19:17

Well done Helen. Though, if you get off, please give serious thought to stabbing Pat.
