Rob - dead? No, no, he's, er, resting. He's just pining for the Canadian plains. As Helen is taken into custardy, discuss the Archers here.

No middle names?

I don't like the way they waste time with the interview etc. The archers should be more to the point

ColdTeaAgain · 05/04/2016 19:15

Wtf was that???

SausagesAndLaughter · 05/04/2016 19:16

Well that was crap Angry

Toomuchtea · 05/04/2016 19:16

I do like the fact that there was no question at all of Pat and Tony questioning Rob's behaviour the moment that they knew.

Gruach · 05/04/2016 19:16

The Archers - No Comment

EasyWink

GypsyFl0ss · 05/04/2016 19:18

God those police officers are horrible. One of them sounds like she's convinced that Kirsty and Helen planned this.

ColdTeaAgain · 05/04/2016 19:18

Now I don't know much about law but I really don't see how the no comment tactic is going to help her?

redshoeblueshoe · 05/04/2016 19:19

Well I guess Psuedo can party in peace - WTF can you say after that

bakeoffcake · 05/04/2016 19:19

Poor Helen Sad

Gherkinsmummy · 05/04/2016 19:19

What can Kirsty actually say though? It's hearsay. She never saw Rob hit Helen.

bigbuttons · 05/04/2016 19:20

GrrrrrrrrAngry

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 05/04/2016 19:21

Elendon I am assuming a defensive wound to the wrist whilst trying to deflect one of the blows. One stab wound to the chest and 2 to the abdomen according to paramedic.

You can accidentally stab someone once. You cannot accidentally stab them 3 times.

It would be just about possible she stabbed him once in trying to defend Henry. A second time when he lunged at her with a knife in her hand.

But the 3rd one was vindictive.

BertrandRussell · 05/04/2016 19:21

Why has she been advised to say nothing?

But remember the police only know that she has nearly murdered somebody- they are bound to be a bit hostile............

AugustaFinkNottle · 05/04/2016 19:22

The point of the No Comment tactic is that it keeps her safe. For all that an MH professional has seen her, she probably is still in shock and she's certainly still affected by Rob's gaslighting. There's a substantial danger that, left to herself, she'll still excuse at least some of his conduct or minimise it. I suspect if I were a crime solicitor I wouldn't want to throw someone to the mercy of the police, particularly a somewhat hostile officer like this one seems to be.

AugustaFinkNottle · 05/04/2016 19:24

SmallLegs, I can't see Helen saying any of the stab wounds were accidental, except maybe the one to the wrist. If anything, she'll be saying that they were self defence or defence of Henry.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 05/04/2016 19:25

gypsy if tgey can find a motive, why not?

A man, previously believed to be of character is found stabbed reo
Peatedly in his own home. No injuries on the assailant. No attempt by the assailant to phone an ambulance. No concern on the part of the assailant about his health.

Evidence of her having made some kind of secret plan with a friend.

I am guessing the police don't have that much sympathy with someone they know for certain has stabbed someone until they have good reason. Otoh I imagine they aee enough dv to suspect it might be a factor.

IorekByrnisonsArmour · 05/04/2016 19:25

This police officer sounds a right cow

My thoughts exactly BYOS Grin

Vango · 05/04/2016 19:27

Well I too can hardly think of anything to say after that. It's been said all along (on here) that there's no material evidence against him. The only person who's ever witnessed violence, that we know of, is someone who's already perjured herself. Helen can say that he's hit her but no-one saw any bruises. And she would say that, wouldn't she? She's just tried to kill him and has no earthly reason to as far as anyone else is concerned. The person she's colluded with is someone who's hated him since day one. She had her bag packed, ready to flee the scene after the stabbing. The way they're presenting it to us now looks very bad for her.

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 05/04/2016 19:28

I suspect the no comment is because there either wasn't enough time to get the full story before the interview and it's to buy time, or it's because Helen wouldn't say anything to the solicitor.

I think it's the latter and it will be discussed in passing at Bridge Farm.

Please forgive me for saying but I hope they open the shop and tearoom and make a killing.

GrumpyOldBag · 05/04/2016 19:30

No, I think the No Comment was because she was following the solicitor's advice.

At last.

BYOSnowman · 05/04/2016 19:30

Shouldn't the police be impartial though? Otherwise they are going in to the interview with a pre conceived idea? That can't be helpful

Vango · 05/04/2016 19:31

Frankly, the way they're spinning it now, I'd start to be very worried if I was Kirsty. She's sounding like someone who was out to get revenge. Especially since it was inevitably come out that he scuppered her wedding.

YesterdayOnceMore · 05/04/2016 19:31

No one in Bridge Farm sounded particularly shocked when Kirsty told them about the abuse. No "you must have got that wrong Kirsty". Although I think I need to listen again and take all that in.

I wonder how long the night will go on for.

I like the idea that it is not Sunday (especially as Rob was late home from the shop, so unlikely to have been Sunday) . But then that gets a bit time warpy that we heard it before it actually happened Confused

Vango · 05/04/2016 19:32

*will inevitably....

BYOSnowman · 05/04/2016 19:34

Yay abused women! You not only have to stab your husband to get away but the police will assume you are evil murdering scum.

This is just getting better and better.
When do we get the specialist dv officer
