Would Helen and Kirsty calls to WA be allowed as evidence, I wonder if WA keep recordings of phone calls?

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 04/04/2016 18:06

The calls to WA could be part of a plot. They are surely hearsay not evidence.

bakeoffcake · 04/04/2016 18:06

If there is evidence from the boarding school of any discussions, (which will be ion Robs phone and maybe seem emails). that would be great for Helen as it proves they were gas lighting her/going behind her back and about to send Henry off without any discussion with her.

scrappydappydoo · 04/04/2016 18:10

Hmm just listening to PM and they used the words 'apparently killed' so does that mean Rob lives????

Vango · 04/04/2016 18:13

Before I go, because today is a day I've lost to this (!), I'd like to mark my place by saying:

Rob will not be dead
Helen has no evidence against him but won't need it because he won't be dead
Rob will recover from his injuries, having reported her to the police for attacking him
He will decide not to press charges against her providing she completely submits to his will from now on
Everyone will initially have sympathy for poor beleaguered Rob
Slowly but surely, Helen will find a way to convey the truth of what is happening
Other lightbulb moments will occur and other investigations re-opened, not as part of this storyline but as a by-product of Rob being the topic of general conversation following the incident
The SWs will finally show us that there is a route out of the relationship that doesn't involve a death, thereby fulfilling their implied commitment to the public service element of the storyline.
Rob will eventually be arrested and charged with the murder of Stefan. He will go to jail and Helen will be free of him for a while.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 04/04/2016 18:15

I was trying to think if I would have had 'evidence' if I had had to prove my ex was abusive. Not much but more than Helen.

Both my parents had seen him shout at me.
His kids had seen him shout at me and corner me.
But then they would also have seen me snap and shout at him to leave me alone.
Colleagues had seen me 'react' when he phoned me.
His neighbours had witnessed him throwing me out and calling me a cunt repeatedly.
My dc saw him push me over. (Too little to be witnesses though and not reliable as they claim to have seen him kick me - not true).
His ex could testify about what he did to her. She might choose not to.
And I would have had plenty of abusive texts and emails.
Plus I frequently told friends he was a bully.

But I reckon that might get me a restraining order at the most. I doubt it would be enough to have him charged let alone convicted.

So I'd give Helen a snowball's chance in hell. (If this were rl and not what I now know to be a ridiculous soap)

whataboutbob · 04/04/2016 18:16

I'll take anything as long as he's not alive for her to be repentant and go back to him. If that happens I'm out, after listening since Uni (I'm 49).

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 04/04/2016 18:18

Here is hoping Vango.

But she will always know she stabbed him.

And so will we. Sigh.

And in her position given the choice of sumbutting or prosecution, I might choose to go to jail rather than put Henry in the position of being in the same house as Rob.

Imbroglio · 04/04/2016 18:23

Loads of people noticed the change in Henry. A skilled child protection professional could get some useful testimony from him - the separating him from his mother, the arbitrary treats/strictness.

Vango · 04/04/2016 18:24

But Rob will get his way SmallLegs and Henry will be off to Boarding School! Helen will no longer have any choices. For now. Which fits in with the long term nature of the intended storyline. Helen's suffering is not over but it will be without her having to become a criminal or serve a jail sentence.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 04/04/2016 18:38

barristerblogger.com/2016/04/04/helen-guilty-murdering-rob-advice/?fdx_switcher=true another barristers take on her options (assuming Rob is dead)

Boomingmarvellous · 04/04/2016 18:39

Robastard isn't going to be deaded after all. Not sure if that makes me happy or not?

If he survived the stabbing with a kitchen knife no size stated so it could be tiny we all know its going to be.....

Hellin. Darling. I forgive you. You are not in your right mind cos I drove you out of it You wouldn't take the ADs. If you had this wouldn't have happened. I love you. Don't go.

Of course she will go back to him. A mixture of guilt and loyalty and control Sad

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 04/04/2016 18:41

Sumbutting? Wtf is sumbutting? Do I want to know?

*submitting.

BeaufortBelle · 04/04/2016 18:43

Small community. Ranks will close around Helen.

What we don't know is whether he has form further back than Jess. My money's on dirt coming out from the woodwork.

We also don't know how deep/serious these stab wounds are or where the knife entered.

Also Helen was first defending Henry and then defending herself which explains two wounds.

Anyway. At service station buying wine fir next episode.

DadDadDad · 04/04/2016 18:45

Sumbutt is a function in Excel - used when you want to get the BOTTOM lineGrin

GigotdAgneau · 04/04/2016 18:45

I'm not listening tonight. Too pissed off. Don't care what happened, either. SOC raised his audience figures, that's all that matters.

Boomingmarvellous · 04/04/2016 18:51

Didn't hellin stab him because he was attacking henwee? He definitely went for Henwee so that may be considered strong mitigation?

YesterdayOnceMore · 04/04/2016 18:53

I think he's properly dead. Unfortunately. I feel a bit weird wanting him not to be dead...

PseudoBadger · 04/04/2016 18:54

I have 2 titles ready. One for Undead, one for dead.

OP posts:
YesterdayOnceMore · 04/04/2016 18:55

There is no evidence that he was about to attack Henry. No evidence of him ever being anything but a wonderful dad to Henry in the past. Henry seems unaware of anything So it will just be Helen's word for it. And given she was the one who stabbed him, how much will she be believed??

Stickerrocks · 04/04/2016 18:56

I haven't felt this on edge for ages. Hoping for undead, dreading properly dead.

Stickerrocks · 04/04/2016 18:58

Mind you, I had the same thoughts about Nigel's demise.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 04/04/2016 18:58

As PP said i can see them just doing other (stock cube related) stuff tonight.

Just LA to WH.at least they only read out the disappointed emails (unlike everywhere els e on the self congratulatory beeb)

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 04/04/2016 18:59

Oh and Grin at D3. Statistical light relief.

AugustaFinkNottle · 04/04/2016 19:00

Once more into the breach, dear friends, once more ...
