surely now Pat HAS to pick up the thread? After that godawful 'didn't we darling' coaching Knob was doing last night?

I might have missed the finer points

I was so busy yelling PAAAAAAT! MUM YOUR DAUGHTER! at the radio my d came out to see what was the matter

you'd think dc would know by now that shouting at radio between 7-715 is Because The Archers

spiker · 26/02/2016 08:53

so....SOC has set up home-birth-gone-wrong scenario so that SOK will be very sick and it will be hellin's fault ("it was your choice to do it darling"). maybe knob will 'support' Hellin to set up home birth them start gaslighting her about near her due date, about him not being sure she's made best choice.

redshoeblueshoe · 26/02/2016 08:56

FinestGT - that was amazing and weird at the same time Grin

LillianGish · 26/02/2016 08:58

What I can't understand is that her previous birth wasn't a case of having a long protracted labour in hospital and ending up with an EC (in which case you might understand trying a different environment). She was admitted as an emergency because of pre-eclampsia and everything followed on from that. It wasn't a case that she wanted to go in was a case of thank goodness she did and that she got there on time. I think something similar will happen this times and the matter will be taken out of her hands (which Knob will blame her for anyway). Loved Tom last night - he is the second person to give her the you can talk to me about absolutely anything speech, the first one being Kirsty. I won't be surprised if those two get back together over Helen. Knob's attack on Tom's sausages and now his Scotch eggs were a tactical error on his part - he has no idea what he is dealing with. I would also like reiterate pp saying Helen has always been a piece of work - Patbot's reluctant pussyfooting now is as a direct result of this. However awful her situation now and however much we want her to escape from it, let's not forget that before all this happened she was completely insufferable.

R was 100% in control of conception. He'll want to be in the same position when 'the product' is delivered

Toomuchtea · 26/02/2016 09:59

Helen was indeed a piece of work, and her awfulness to Tony when she was pregnant with Henry was particularly awful. And then there's her withdrawing of grandparent privileges if her parents upset her.

It couldn't have been more obvious yesterday that Helen was simply echoing Rob about home birth. Will Tony have nothing to say abou this? Mighty relieved that both he and Jonny are back with actual speaking parts.

recyclingbag · 26/02/2016 10:34

Actually it was Rob who sent old Tom to Canada wasn't it.

He was very keen to get him out of the way.

ppeatfruit · 26/02/2016 10:37

At last Tom has guessed Grin Let's hope they'll all put 2 and 2 together and come to the correct number.

Oh, pleeease make this the next thread title!

And I will never ever forgive HellOn for her vile vileness to Hayley after John's death.

ppeatfruit · 26/02/2016 10:50

Are we not reclaiming that particular 'insult' and it being seen as a natural and beautiful area of our bodies. Stop with all the negativity, or I'll come off this thread. .

BoreOfWhabylon · 26/02/2016 11:18

ok ppeat - I take your point.

It was funny though

FinestGrundyTurkey · 26/02/2016 11:33

That child is fabulous, isn't she Smile

I hadn't watched that link when I posted it & now I have I realise it's been cut a bit, she worked harder than it appears - this is the original, posted by her proud mother. I'm sure she'd make light work of delivering SOK!

JasperDamerel · 26/02/2016 11:37

I've been thinking about the home birth thing, and I think it's about Rob setting Helen up to feel like a failure. I know lots of people who've had problem-free HBACs, but in Helen's case she doesn't fit the criteria at all. For her, home isn't a place where she feels safe and relaxed; it is the place where she feels most at risk. In a actual, real life scenario, she would probably transfer to hospital either before the birth (due to her health problems) or during a labour which fails to progress because of Rob's presence. Rob can then use this to further undermine Helen's self-confidence, while gaslighting her about "her" foolish insistence on a home birth when she clearly isn't cut out for childbirth.,,

WipsGlitter · 26/02/2016 11:44

I really, really hope they don't go down a failed homebirth baby dying bit.

Still hoping it's a girl!!!

spiker · 26/02/2016 11:46

My thoughts exactly Jasper! [are you a georgette heyer fan by any chance?]

Gruach · 26/02/2016 11:48

When Helen was first pregnant (once we'd established that she wasn't lying about it) I fully expected that, with Kirsty's support, she would decline to comply. They're obviously taking the story down a different path but I thought of Helen when I read this real life case. VERY GRIM.

ppeatfruit · 26/02/2016 11:56

It's Shakespearean Bore Grin

Gruach · 26/02/2016 12:09

Have to agree Lancelottie has potentially provided an epic thread title - which could just as easily be interpreted as a declaration of female strength rather than a carelessly thrown insult.

ATailofTwoKitties · 26/02/2016 12:12

It's clearly a declaration of the feminine power involved in childbirth and lambing, innit?

BoreOfWhabylon · 26/02/2016 12:23

Phew! Thank gods for that then ppeat Grin

AugustaFinkNottle · 26/02/2016 13:22

Maybe the scenario will be the MW telling Helen she needs to come in to hospital due to high blood pressure, Helen refusing because she's too scared to tell Rob there won't be a home birth, then a massive drama when she has full blown eclampsia and mother and baby barely survive. Then it will be "badly done" again because she put SOK in danger and deprived Rob of the wondrous experience of a home birth, so she must get pregnant again immediately.
