Come on Kirsty!

I googled The Archers Family Tree.

Haven't checked it for accuracy. Or even readability.

DadDadDad · 12/02/2016 20:46

By the way, do any of you oldies need a translation of Fairbrothers speech: "showing your bits on Snapchat" and being "in the friendzone"? (Writes a middle aged dad Shock).

spiker · 12/02/2016 20:58

Gruach - thank you - my googling kept taking me to Wikipedia (great mini-biogs but not visual) and real family trees. My mobile hates it however, need to try it on laptop.

R4 · 12/02/2016 20:58

So where has Kirsty been all week?

spiker · 12/02/2016 21:00

Not snapchatting with Toby I hope.

Gruach · 12/02/2016 21:01

Yes, it's dreadful on my phone.

I know there's a decent looking family tree somewhere, I'm sure I've seen it. Just can't remember where.

spiker · 12/02/2016 21:07

Can't see the appeal of snapchatting your bits personally. Quilting isn't that interesting.

GruntledOne · 12/02/2016 21:10

spiker, I think Ursula has visited twice. Once was an unexpected visit at quite an early stage, when she didn't even seem to know that they were engaged, and Knob did seem pretty pissed off about that. It was shortly after that that Helen arranged the big family dinner that Knob's parents didn't turn up to, because he never invited them, and he generally went on about how typical it was of them to be so rude, how they didn't care about him and what an awful family he had generally.

Then Ursula visited again quite recently, after Helen got pregnant. ISTR Knob was still quite wary but more receptive, maybe because he felt one up having conceived precious first grandchild. She came over as probably just as controlling as Knob, so they will probably be kindred spirits.

It would be nice to think that if she's going to be hanging over Helen all week, Helen might get round to saying what a shame it was they didn't make it to the dinner that wasn't and Ursula will say she wasn't invited. But Knob will probably tell Helen it was all her fault, she was the one who was supposed to organise the invitation, and do that horrible laugh while he points out that she was a confused little woman even before she got pregnant.

BYOSnowman · 12/02/2016 21:12

The first contact from ursula was a phone call

spiker · 12/02/2016 21:16

I remember that failed dinner. I think Knob was calling / pretending to call his parents during it, so don't think he'd get away with blaming it on H. Unless the SWs are about to have convenient memory lapse. Again.

Wordsaremything · 12/02/2016 21:19

So many clues that Rob isn't the real deal. He's not 'country' . Maybe it doesn't matter. Maybe it's scriptwriter error.

Poor Hellin though with Mrs Danvers coming to stay for a week. Will tom and Kirsty rude to her rescue?

That bed time scene with knob and hen wee was chilling.

spiker · 12/02/2016 21:19

Ah, I remember that phone call too BYOS. but what future-MIL could fail to be pissed off at having been kept so out of the loop with her son's wives/girlfriends. Very awkward for both of them.

DadDadDad · 12/02/2016 21:25

spiker - I think Gruntled was implying that Rob would gaslight Helen by making her think her memory was faulty about the invitation.

spiker · 12/02/2016 21:36

Dad - I was thinking about him 'calling' his parents during the meal, iirc it was quite a big thing, the phone calls, and weren't her parents there too? Would make gas lighting that incident risky. might have that whole phoning thing wrong though. Or have confused it with RL behaviours. (DSs are watching a Star Wars AGAIN and I have spent the last 90 minutes overthinking TA instead).

Stickerrocks · 12/02/2016 21:45

Pseudo we're getting close to the limit again. How can we get Mrs Danvers, obedience, Brian's coven & Adam's Brief Encounter into one title?

EBearhug · 12/02/2016 21:58

On the wiki page - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_The_Archers_characters - on the header of each family section, there's a Show link on the right hand side - that will expand to a proper family tree of that section. So some will show in more than one section, e.g Elizabeth is on the Archer (Brookfield) one, and on the Pargetter one.

You probably need to be on a proper screen, not a phone, though. (Haven't tried, so don't know for sure.)

SuffolkNWhat · 12/02/2016 22:01

Dad has been brought up on a diet of R4, particularly the back catalog of ISIHAC. She normally listens to TA with me before bed but I haven't let her recently, it's too much.

SuffolkNWhat · 12/02/2016 22:01

DD* although my Dad is an unwitting R4 listener too

doesthatmakesense · 12/02/2016 22:18

Am not qualified for title-writing but ancient relic of mis-spent yoof theatre lines just resurfaced as... Hubble, Bubble, Helen's troubles: Danvers arrives and Obedience

Stickerrocks · 12/02/2016 22:24

Why have I just gone through the alphabet looking for things rhyming with troubles? You have a lot to answer for!

AnnieNoMouse · 12/02/2016 22:25

Surely less Mrs Danvers, who was more custodian of her dead mistress's memory, and more Grace Poole, who was actual jailer to Bertha Mason, the "mad" woman in the attic?

LillianGish · 12/02/2016 22:34

Sure enough, Tom's sausages were nowhere to be seen in the chiller cabinet - no wonder they aren't selling. Tom will not let this lie - never mind what Knob is doing to his sister - he is now firmly on the side of Knob despisers, along with Kirsty.
Can't believe Pat won't be popping round at least once during half-term. She won't take kindly to the fact that she wasn't allowed to so much as phone her daughter while Ursula has been moved in. Hopefully she will raise the dinner party no show

LillianGish · 12/02/2016 22:35

Things that rhyme with trouble - stubble (turnips) Grin

Imbroglio · 12/02/2016 22:42

Rubble?

PseudoBadger · 12/02/2016 22:46

I'm thinking short and sharp, as generally the involved titles aren't as well received:

"Nobody likes a noisy boy. Quiet discussion on the meaning of Obedience in The Archers here"
