Auntie Cardboard made Jim's tummy turn over as well! Perhaps his hangover was meant to be a light hearted contrast to Helen's very much less temporary problem.

enochroot · 01/02/2016 17:59

BTW, I can't always listen with concentration. I thought I heard Rob say 'Mummy knows what's good for her'. I took it as a threat.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 01/02/2016 18:20

I think Jim's hangover was just a bit of humour about him playing fuzzy duck and a device so they could shoe horn in the bird safety advice and so he could be sitting at reception when Helen called to be on hand for bird feeding advice.

BYOSnowman · 01/02/2016 19:06

I can't believe Jenny would let lil smoke in the house

BYOSnowman · 01/02/2016 19:12

Listening to Jill and pip talk makes me think of 'I'm sorry I haven't a clue' when they have the duet with the kazoo and the penny whistle

As for pip and Matthew - clearly doomed

PseudoBadger · 01/02/2016 19:58

Or like The Clangers BYOS?

PseudoBadger · 01/02/2016 19:59

Next thread title will involve The Cowpat Of Destiny

OP posts:
BYOSnowman · 01/02/2016 20:03

Can it also involve pip drowning in it?

Do you think Jill does the sounds for the clangers?

songbird · 01/02/2016 21:05

Kazoo and penny whistle Grin

BYOSnowman · 01/02/2016 23:09

Or is it the swanny whistle? That's Jill. Pip is the deeper one that suddenly goes high.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 01/02/2016 23:12

BYO I agree with you, there no way Jenny would let e smoke in her house.

BYOSnowman · 01/02/2016 23:26

And don't you think Jenny would be a lot less chilled out about the mess?

I'm a little concerned she has a weed habit - would also explain the memory lapse re rob and the culvert

redshoeblueshoe · 02/02/2016 00:31

I think Jenny has a cheeky cig with her Shock

LakeFlyPie · 02/02/2016 00:33

Having listened to TA for 15+ years; in recent times mostly to keep abreast of these highly entertaining threads: I must delurk to say BYOS' comment about Pip and Jill sounding like the swanny whistle / kazoo game is one of the funniest things I've seen on MN in a long time, thanks!
As you were Grin

ppeatfruit · 02/02/2016 07:04

IMO Hell should go NC with Knob as far as she can, why tell him anything when she gets negativity all the time? She's an adult she can just effing go out.

ArgyMargy · 02/02/2016 08:13

Is Hellin thinking she can cause a miscarriage by not eating? Sorry we probably dealt with this several threads ago! Are oysters OK to eat during pregnancy? Surely Knob would insist on eating them raw & swallowed whole...

BitOutOfPractice · 02/02/2016 08:20

I wonder how old the child that plays Henwee is. Does anyone know??

BYOSnowman · 02/02/2016 08:40

It's funny because it's true! I defy anyone to listen to last nights episode and not wonder if they've tuned in half an hour early

Mr sw - if you are reading this - can we please have Henry take up the swanny whistle. He could then communicate through music and sound less evil. Possibly.

ObsidianBlackbirdMcNight · 02/02/2016 08:46

How far in advance are the scripts written? Do you reckon the sw trawl message boards for views and pointers?

R4 · 02/02/2016 08:53

Oh, I so want to refer to Piiiiip of the loooooong voweeeeeel sounds as 'Swanny Whistle' from here on in. Shame that that the abbreviation 'SW' has already been taken.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 02/02/2016 08:55

I don't think Henwee is played by a child.

R4 · 02/02/2016 09:01

Actually, I've just listened back for a laugh and both of them alternate between the kazoo and the swanny whistle. Has Ms Badger been getting acting tips from Ms Greene? Bad move.

Gruach · 02/02/2016 09:25

Obsidian Keri Davies tweeted about the writing regime late last year. He said:

Storylines are planned 2-3 years in advance.

Detailed planning 3 months ahead.

Writing 2 months ahead

Recording 1 month ahead.

And as the writers are on Twitter, the BBC runs Archers Twitter and Facebook accounts and the internet is full of Archers forums - it's inevitable that the writing is more and more driven by what the writers read about the show.

E-learning to say I have a child Henry's age and he sounds nothing like any of the reception children I know. He sounds younger, I think, and yet scarily advanced in being happy and able to do things on his own. I feel that he has possibly done nothing other than play quietly with his trains, clean his teeth and go to bed for five years so is very good at these things but other areas of his development are sadly lacking.

Rob getting Henry to join in with the food taunting was one of the most horrible things I've ever heard.

Mind you, at least they remember he exists. I am similar age to Helen and remember listening as a child and being utterly amazed when my mum told me that Pat and Tony had Helen and Tommy as well as John.

Swirlingasong · 02/02/2016 11:06

De-lurking, not e-learning. Mad auto- correct.
