Presumably the amaretti in question are/were organic - not so easy to find in Aldi, I imagine.

ppeatfruit · 27/01/2016 10:17

Tomuchtea There was nothing bland about Toby's remark about Mathew "The cowman". Very bitchy I thought. BOOP for the awkward meeting at Burns night.

Gaspode The introduction of Doc Locke to Knob was at his house warming party not at the Nativity Play btw.

BertrandRussell · 27/01/2016 10:21

And about Pip being "under the cowman's thumb" or words to that effect. Very unpleasant indeed.

BitOutOfPractice · 27/01/2016 10:21

Morning R4 I've just posted your ticket to you. t's second class as that's the only stamp I could find kicking around!

AdventuresOfADentist · 27/01/2016 10:23

Bertrand is your friend Sheila with the Mercedes in FND? Or one of the main people?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 27/01/2016 10:46

Pretty sure it was the Nativity play, ppeatfruit, because Richard invited Helen and Rob to his housewarming party and Helen started to say how lovely and Rob immediately butted in with 'Well, we'll have to just check we've got nothing else on' and of course that was that. Richard had gone along to the nativity with Shula, who needed to check on her donkey (as you do).

Underwood's Food Hall used to be Jennifer's second home. It's in Borchester, by the way.

enochroot · 27/01/2016 11:00

Where is the problem with the chef at The bull taking us?

Gruach · 27/01/2016 11:02

Gasp0 ... I was hoping you could confirm the colour of the cardigan for love of which Elizabeth once tried to cadge money from Shula.Grin Elizabeth said she needed it and Shula retorted that no one ever needs a pink cardigan. But it could have been green ...

(I'm on a train and too excited to read the volume of poems I've provided myself with. Off to admire Andrew Scott in "The Dazzle"!)

ppeatfruit · 27/01/2016 12:02

Gruach sorry to hijack TA for M&S but did you get any further with them?

ppeatfruit · 27/01/2016 12:03

Oh well my memory playing tricks then Gaspode Grin Blush

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 27/01/2016 12:03

Gruach Grin Envy

Afraid I can't help with the cardigan!

Enoch, might Ian join The Bull and help to turn it into a gastropub? Can't for the life of me think what else this can be leading up to.

Gruach · 27/01/2016 12:06

M&S ppeat?

Remind me ...Confused

Gruach · 27/01/2016 12:10

Oh that's a good question about Ian and the Bull. He has been boringly fascinated with gastropubs for what seems a lifetime. But where would that leave GG? Emma probably can't do any non-Ambridge accents ...

ppeatfruit · 27/01/2016 12:10

Oh I thought it was you on the M&S thread maybe another Gruach??

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 27/01/2016 12:27

I think you might have meant me, ppeatfruit! I did ask MN if they could arrange a webchat with somebody senior from M&S but have heard no more about that.

trevortrevorslatterfry · 27/01/2016 13:19

Oh yes Underwoods. I always thought that was a department store like Fenwicks or Jenners or something.

enochroot · 27/01/2016 13:24

I think it's all about Ian leaving GG and working at The Bull instead. I suppose it might bring him more into the centre of village life and give him more lines even though Freda managed to cook wordlessly for years.

BYOSnowman · 27/01/2016 13:48

It seems odd that Ian would leave head chef of a top hotel to head chef of a pub. It would only work if he took an ownership stake in the pub.

enochroot · 27/01/2016 14:54

That's what I find odd too. Why would Ian move? Then again, why make all this fuss about employing a chef in a silent role?
Perhaps it's a new character with a sound alike voice.

JessieMcJessie · 27/01/2016 15:32

Yes Underwoods is a provincial department store with a tea room, a section selling dowdy long-sleeved purple evening wear for Helen and a food hall to which Pat sells yoghurt (but they possibly lost the contract around E. coli time?).

There was/is a supermarket that was named though, as Tamsin the evil sausage buyer with whom Tom had an affair worked for them. Can't recall the name though. I think Brenda also used to go there back in the old days to do sausage sizzling demos with Tom.

enochroot · 27/01/2016 16:04

It might get interesting if Ian somehow acquired Lillian's share of The Bull though I hope that doesn't mean Lil's going to SOTMC and leave her share to Adam & Ian.
She was talking about selling some assets though.

Minimammoth · 27/01/2016 18:48

I miss JeanPaul, he was such a master of the silent role.

ObsidianBlackbirdMcNight · 27/01/2016 19:05

Rob and Helen literally never sound like they're having a nice time. There should be some of the nice bits to make the relationship more believable.

Shallishanti · 27/01/2016 19:13

Helen having fun!

ObsidianBlackbirdMcNight · 27/01/2016 19:14

Yes Kirsty!
