Do you know that I was 3 months pregnant when the first thread started - DD was 2 yesterday Cake

That must also mean that Poppy Grundy's 2nd birthday has passed by unremarked upon...

Thanks for the link DFW. So botulism outbreak at mega dairy caused by a rotting corpse has real- life precedent. Stevan probably too melodramatic, but what about Scruff?

BitOutOfPractice · 19/10/2015 08:27

I have completely missed what Linda's show is - can you fill me in?

An Archers calendar?! I would disown anyone who bought me one of those!

dairyfarmerswife · 19/10/2015 08:40

"The AHVLA said the disease is usually caused by animals coming into contact with the litter of broiler chickens and it can also affect sheep." From the BBC article I linked. Litter is the manure removed from the sheds, which can apparently also contain the odd dead chicken. Broilers are birds raised for meat, in large numbers in sheds.

This article explains more... www.fwi.co.uk/livestock/livestock-farmers-warned-of-poultry-litter-botulism-risk.htm

I don't know if we have heard them talking about spreading poultry manure on silage fields at Berrow, or is silage bought in? Either way it could be a shortcut traceable back to Rob or yet another dead end storyline

BYOSnowman · 19/10/2015 08:40

Calendar girls

R4 · 19/10/2015 08:42

There was a bit of a clue when LyndaNotLinda said "I quite like the idea of Calendar Girls".Wink
However, we have only heard this second-hand, in the form of village gossip. We have not heard La Snell herself say it.

BYOSnowman · 19/10/2015 08:43

I hope we get a more Lynda like production

BitOutOfPractice · 19/10/2015 08:45

Thank you BYOS

R4 I haven't been able to listen properly or spend the time catching up with the thread in detail for several days due to some difficulties at home Sad. Hoped someone could save me scanning back for pages as I didn't know when it had been announced

R4 · 19/10/2015 08:50

Sorry BOOP. Don't hate me!Sad
I think it was last night.

BitOutOfPractice · 19/10/2015 09:01

That's OK. Hoping to catch up at work today but I coudn't make head nor tail of why people were talking about naked Ambridgeites here!

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 19/10/2015 09:06

Was thewhole calendar girlrhing not just to make Susan....with her burgeoning talents....squirm.

Did the flood or disappearance of Stefan occur at a time that coincided with when they made silage?

BYOSnowman · 19/10/2015 09:08

Jenny and Brian talked about it too and Brian made some comment about hoping Sabrina would be in it

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 19/10/2015 09:15

Maybe they will get peggoi to be in CG hifing behind wads of cash and Christine can have some ginger modesty biscuits

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 19/10/2015 09:15

Hiding not hifing

LyndaNotLinda · 19/10/2015 09:15

Hope you're okay BOOP Flowers Brew

Good point about La Snell not saying it. Not really a panto either. Archers calendar?! With pictures of the actors?! Nooooo :o

selsigfach · 19/10/2015 09:17

I'm not saying it's lowbrow - just that Lynda would think it was!
I'm surprised Toby hasn't yet discovered the lovely Sabrina.

BitOutOfPractice · 19/10/2015 09:17

Oh lord I've realised I spelled Lynda wrong too! I'm not fit to be seen on this thread! Sad

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 19/10/2015 09:17

Jill can be covered in well trained bees.
Ruth could hide behind some artificial insemination equipment.
Lillian can hide behind ice and a slice.

enochroot · 19/10/2015 09:29

I hope Stefan isn't dead and we don't end up with a murder story. I'm hoping he will return and give evidence at the flood enquiry, if there is to be one.

So my money's on a contaminated batch of feed bought in by Rob. He has form for skimping on feed costs contrary to the policy of the owners of the animals.

BitOutOfPractice · 19/10/2015 09:31

Is it only chickens that can pass it on? Not geese?

BitOutOfPractice · 19/10/2015 09:33

I think Fallon should have a well-placed policeman's helmet like this chap

BYOSnowman · 19/10/2015 09:57

Hey, let's objectify the women of the village! I hope Lynda has plans for the men!

Given the melodrama we already have I think a murder could push me over the edge!

BitOutOfPractice · 19/10/2015 10:10

Well BYOS the play of CG is about women - and is supposed to be about women becoming empowered rather than objectified but I know what you mean.

Maybe The Full Monty next year?

R4 · 19/10/2015 10:19

The rationale for Calender Girls was

  1. it's mostly the women of Ambridge who volunteer for the Christmas production and CG has lots of female parts
  2. it's about a village pulling together for a good cause
  3. it was done under the banner of the WI - them that have just had their 100th birthday.
BYOSnowman · 19/10/2015 10:27

Whilst that is true, it seems to have spawned a load of copy cats and the whole thing seems to have been lost in a sea of giggles.

I still don't think it's very Lynda though!

R4 · 19/10/2015 10:29

No, I don't think it's very Lynda either. Nor Christmassy.
