Do you know that I was 3 months pregnant when the first thread started - DD was 2 yesterday Cake

That must also mean that Poppy Grundy's 2nd birthday has passed by unremarked upon...

Could it be the cows are sick because of something bad that comes from intensive farming thereby changing Charlie's mind and reconciling him with Adam?

DadDadDad · 17/10/2015 09:10

"This thread's agricultural story advisor is dairyfarmerswife" Grin

Gruach · 17/10/2015 10:13

Such a cool tweet about Rob.

ppeatfruit · 17/10/2015 11:22

"It's not Sodom and Gommorah" Yes it is Mike, there are ONE AND A HALF THOUSAND COWS in there; of course diseases will spread like wildfire it's effing unnatural.

BYOSnowman · 17/10/2015 11:38

I predict we will start to hear ominous 'chirruping' - subtly at first and then louder and louder until it's clear we have a 'The Birds' situation. But with locusts.

And Henry is going to get nitty - knob will blame George and Keira

Do you think the sw have a story board with 3 columns - ott, standard and humorous. Clearly nothing in the middle column and Jenny's kitchen fulfilled the third

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 17/10/2015 12:32

I think Hellin is thinking sometjimg isn't right but Rob is perfect isn't he? I told everyone he was so he must be. But if it isn't him it must be me. No it's him. No it's me.

And i think the flare up will be over some aspect of antenatal care. He wants private, sge doesn't. She fancies a bag of peanuts he says no. Or she wants to work he won't let her. Or Henry is too tiring for poor preggers Hellin. Or that she will be advisex to have a c section and he will want a natural birth....it will almost certainly be over sometjing that is a her body her choice issue and he will play the ahhh but its MY BABY TOO card.

redshoeblueshoe · 17/10/2015 13:33

Smalllegs I agree I don't think Hel thinks Knob is abusive. Mw's do they really do home visits before birth ? Saying a mw looked over a storyline means nothing, the mw could have said that's a pile of crap and the sw's replied who cares we're running it anyway

Northernlurker · 17/10/2015 13:38

My sil lives rurally and her booking in visit was at home.

ppeatfruit · 17/10/2015 13:54

I think Hellin KNOWS he's abusive (he raped her fgs) she just doesn't know what to do because like Rob she's living a lie in the bubble of a 'perfect relationship.'

She hissed at him when he was being less than polite to Peggy when she had 'popped round'.

GruntledOne · 17/10/2015 15:11

I can fully understand and accept Ruth's grief, knowing how my father's death knocked me sideways. But what irritates me, firstly, is that all the "I feel so guilty, I let her down" stuff makes it feel as if Ruth just wants it to be all about Ruth and no-one else. And secondly, that she doesn't genuinely feel guilty etc, because the subtext is that she actually feels that it was David who let HP down, and all because he dares to care about his own mother. Whenever she goes on about feeling so guilty I tend to mutter "Oh, for god's sake, give it a rest woman" and then I feel slightly bad about mocking someone's grief. But I suppose they're going to keep milking it at least till Jill is safely back at Brookfield.

BYOSnowman · 17/10/2015 15:31

That's exactly it - Ruth is making it all about her - even her children's grief is about her somehow

My dh can be a little self centred and I normally shut him down by saying 'I've got a good idea, let's talk about you'. Wish someone would try and shut Ruth down!

squeaver · 17/10/2015 16:33

Olivia - @keridavies He's often enlightening

Surely to goodness the cows getting ill is something to do with Rob. It must be. Otherwise it's just going to be another opportunity for him to crow about it all going tits up after he left. And Pat and Tony will be even further under his spell.

BYOSnowman · 17/10/2015 16:36

I should imagine he will crow

And then it will come out it was due to his negligence

Then stefan will reappear and the main access road being blocked into ambridge will be explained by robs actions

And Shula will break and admit all re the hunt sab

squeaver · 17/10/2015 16:39

And Aunty Christine will remember how horrible he was on the night of the flood.

And Tom and Tony will finally have a conversation about him cheating at the cricket.

And Charlie will tell Adam about the blackmail.

Oh please, please, please...

BYOSnowman · 17/10/2015 16:41

Will it be very Agatha Christie

Everyone in the bull (lit by candles because there is a storm and a power cut) and some random Belgian explains why he thinks rob is a wrong'un

squeaver · 17/10/2015 16:47

That would be amazing. I'd love a public shaming of some sort. Maybe a confrontation behind the curtain at the Christmas show which the whole audience can hear?

Or Alan denouncing him from the pulpit.

Or a Stir Up Sunday special where every character reveals their problem with Rob as the bowl is passed around.

BYOSnowman · 17/10/2015 16:49

I like the idea of Alan going all fire and brimstone on his arse!!

I'm claiming points if a random Belgian is introduced in the next few weeks...

Gruach · 17/10/2015 16:53

Perhaps they'll economise with a not quite random not quite Hungarian?

ppeatfruit · 17/10/2015 17:40

Grin You lot Grin

BYOSnowman · 17/10/2015 17:44

A well maintained moustache is a must though. I could compromise on a doddery old lady (Hester?). She wouldn't need a moustache.

Where were ed's cows kept that Kenton saw them being napped?

ppeatfruit · 17/10/2015 17:53

He was driving by the field, I think Kenton said, you can listen to the film tomorrow to check my facts (as we seem to be in detective mode atm ) I luurve M. Poirot btw. Grin

BYOSnowman · 17/10/2015 17:57

Given recent ludicrous storylines I think a resurrected mr poirot isn't so unlikely

Maybe he will be conjured up in a seance and channelled through Carole.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 17/10/2015 18:00

I think Carol could fit an Agatha Christie character role quite well. Has she met Rob much at all?

Saying a mw looked over a storyline means nothing, the mw could have saidthat's a pile of crapand the sw's repliedwho cares we're running it anyway

This is exactly what I thoight. They could have gone Rob style on the mw.
Mw: that is not very plausible
Rob soc: ah but it is possible though isn't it?
Mw: well I suppose ...maybe
Soc: excellent. I knew you'd agree with me.

As for H kniwing because she has been raped. She hasn't said that to him, to anyone or probably even herself. It is quite possible to rationalise that kind of thing away "he got carried away" "we were going to have sex anyway" "well we are married" etc. Etc. Because having to admit what it is is sometimes very horrible.

enochroot · 17/10/2015 18:39

If the mega dairy stays in business then I hope Moike gets Rob's former 'position' as manager. Rob would be livid at being replaced by someone he regards as one of the yokels.

I hope this doesn't all rebound on Charlie and that it can be traced back to Rob's negligence but I fear BL will blame Charlie anyway after all these weeks.

JessieMcJessie · 17/10/2015 18:58

Since when did Charlie become manager of Berrow Farm anyway? If I recall correctly, he appeared after Justin Elliott staged his hostile takeover of BL and ousted Brian as Chair with the co -operation of "et tu Annabel". His first roles was, I think, to oversee BL's interests generally, hence his being responsible for firing Adam from the arable contract. He may also have had some go- between role for Justin as regards Justin's non- BL interests I.e. route B and I think also the purchase of Brookfield.

He then seemed to morph a bit into being Rob's boss at Berrow in terms of general oversight, ( and it seemed like his office was suddenly written as being at Berrow as well?) but I don't think he was supposed to have any particular mega dairy management experience, was he? I suppose he might just be standing in while they recruit A new manager but by the sound of it today he was working directly with the staff in the day to day operations. Any organisation of that size would already have a new and properly- experienced manager in place, even if just on a temp contract.

I thought he was needlessly patronising towards Mike, even though I agree that Mike probably is not the right man for the job. But probably all just a plot device to allow a I,e to see the sick beasts.
