Do you know that I was 3 months pregnant when the first thread started - DD was 2 yesterday Cake

That must also mean that Poppy Grundy's 2nd birthday has passed by unremarked upon...

OP posts:
Minimammoth · 13/10/2015 07:58

Pleasepleasepleaseplease let Rob be caught out at something that shows him for what he is, anything really. Please.
Also thought another tick for the thread, re phoebe questioning her mothers qualifications to offer retreat/therapy. Seen here first, I think.

R4 · 13/10/2015 09:00

Rob is a BOOP. I want him to be found out for something but I want Helen shackled to him due to co-parenting SpoK for the next umpty years. I want him to be the bad penny, the thorn in her side.
She can divorce him all she likes but she can't get rid of him.

BoreOfWhabylon · 13/10/2015 09:07

Yes R4, that would be excellent, but first he must be arrested for the murrrderrr of Stefan.

Then he can do a law degree from inside his cell and torment Hellin for ever and ever.

WipsGlitter · 13/10/2015 10:00

I love that Helen has realised that he is a tosser but now doesn't know what to do.

Why were Eds cows not insured?

Toooldtobearsed · 13/10/2015 10:05

I am feeling a burning and unnatural hatred for a character from a radio show........ do I need help?

I listen to the podcast in the morning walking the dogs. My language is disgraceful at the moment.

Will this story line reach it's crescendo at Christmas?

I do not think Helen is pregnant. She lied to keep Rob at bay.

squeaver · 13/10/2015 10:23

Tooold - me too, walking the dog. I'm sure I'm getting a name for myself as a muttering, mad old woman.

I thought Emma was EXCELLENT last night but I also can't praise Helen's acting highly enough. "Someone of his senior status.." indeed. Her pride battling with what she really knows.

Hadn't thought that Knob night be responsible for the missing bulls. Would the hunt have gone through a field with bulls in it? And would they have been insured? Where's dairyfarmerswife to answer these crucial questions?

Gruach · 13/10/2015 10:34

Yup. Yet again woke up and felt a pang of sadness. Searched to identify the source. Oh - yes; beautiful Ed has no more cows. After all the hope and work he must have put in.

Why are they doing this to us?

BitOutOfPractice · 13/10/2015 10:42

I've just read back and had to laugh. gaspode you get a better class of spam on the Archers thread. Austen spam! Grin

Delurkers booping away. I'm loving this thread

ppeatfruit · 13/10/2015 10:45

Was there a hunt last weekend? No more likely the poachers who were seen by Will n' Ed (you'd 've thought Ed might take a bit more care) didn't Eddie or Jo say "therry'll be back ooarrh"

R4 · 13/10/2015 10:59

Rob was wearing a ratcatcher (so we haven't had the opening meet yet*) and Helen said Henry couldn't go because it was a school day.
So Rob was doing hunt-ish things on Monday.

  • Google is my friend.
WipsGlitter · 13/10/2015 11:16

All this gung-ho hunting stuff is also very odd. As is the family stuff. Someone is bound to suggest a meeting up now they are married and Helen is pregnant.

LillianGish · 13/10/2015 11:46

R4 I think you may get your wish that Helen is shackled to him for years. I don't think anything is going to come out until he has the parental responsibility thing (definitely not going for adoption because of something dodgy in his past) and Helen has his baby. Then of course Helen will blame EVERYONE for not warning her off sooner - totally oblivious to the fact that it is her own pig-headed, bullying insistence that Knob is ok that won everyone round to him in the first place. Author of her own misfortune and all that. Actually when you know Helen, it's very difficult to feel sorry for her - she does rather bring it on herself (not the rape I hasten to add, but shackling herself to such a knob). I think I tend to agree with you R4 - there will be a certain poetic justice in her being stuck with him.

IorekByrnisonsArmour · 13/10/2015 11:54

DH grew up on a farm and his DF hated the Hunt. They broke fences left gates open etc

DSis participated in (a different) Hunt. I HATED being dragged along to watch the meet. I believe this is why I became an animal rights campaigner and vegetarian at 13.

I also listen to TA dog walking muttering and swearing

enochroot · 13/10/2015 12:29

Oh the story is going to run and run.
At some point if he finds Helen has seen right through him he'll try for custody of both children and cite her mental instability. That's if there is another child which I doubt.
Actually, if she turns out not to be pg that will give him even more ammunition to say she's unstable.

ppeatfruit · 13/10/2015 12:31

Wips Knob has been a keen hunter from the off hasn't he? The Grundys were 'ferreting' for rabbits , they probably left the gate open themselves [joke] Grin

Minimammoth · 13/10/2015 14:14

I hate Rob.

BitOutOfPractice · 13/10/2015 15:01

Oh! I've just listened to yesterday's.

I found Helen's "if you think so" at the end really heartbreaking. She sounded so beaten.

I wonder if we will hear knob trying to tell Fallon that she's got it all wrong. That could be an interesting conversation

BYOSnowman · 13/10/2015 15:12

He's a coward so he won't face fallon. He will make Helen do it.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 13/10/2015 16:27

Yy he will make H do it. Added bonus if the fall out.
I hope Fallin pulls out of tea shop and Kirsty steps into the breach.

Yy also Hellin brought Rob on herself in that she was pretty full on at the start of her rs/affair. Does not mean she deserves it but I think she might think she does.

And also i too doibt Phoebe is oxbridge material if she cannot even bat back Alex's superficial arguments. Where's the intellectual rigour?

mummytime · 13/10/2015 16:46

Girls get coerced by boys at Oxford just like every other University. The brilliant Mathematician I knew who was pregnant when she sat her finals and then persuaded to go to a sheep farm in New Zealand - she came to her senses in her late 20s, divorced him and got back to the UK. But brains don't protect you from youthful lust/hormones.

BYOSnowman · 13/10/2015 17:13

Some of the most intelligent people I know have zero common sense and are totally naive when it comes to emotions/relationships!

AnnieNoMouse · 13/10/2015 17:56

Nobody deserves to be subjected to domestic violence - physical, sexual or emotional.
And does anybody know Phoebe's A level subjects?

AnnieNoMouse · 13/10/2015 18:01

For a few moments yesterday I imagined a SL whereby Rob turns out to be Alex's father. Far too EE I hope but who knows? If we have a SL where Phoebe gets into Oxford then lasts about 2 days and then breezes back home deciding Felpersham is her true intellectual home, I'll probably stop listening.

Gruach · 13/10/2015 18:05

Oh no! Now you've suggested that Annie it's absolutely bound to happen. Grin

Then after she graduates in ... Marketing she can get a job as P. A. to the Fairbrothers - with an office in the caravan.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 13/10/2015 18:16

Won't Tom step in if they sack Fallon? Or will rob just pull the 'you're outnumbered Tom' thing again? Yeah, actually, that's what'll happen, isn't it. grr.
