Is Ed's wedding very soon?

OP posts:
ElephantsAndMiasmas · 27/05/2015 18:22

Just caught up. Do big, businesslike farms actually approve of someone's girlfriend coming in to do important public presentations? Especially when they are part of a rival business? Bonkers.

I was wondering whether Rob had nipped round to Stefan's mum's house and broken her legs himself. Too extreme?

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 27/05/2015 19:10

Did Kenton leave his brain cells in Australia?

As for Helen at Berrow farm - credibility advisor needed! No business would allow that. Totally ridiculous. And Tom providing the pig for Berrow. So much for their childrens principles

Thank god they've given up competitive bird watching. Don't think I could bear a repeat

Newtom has been told to make his voice more distinctive hasn't he.

ZeroFunDame · 27/05/2015 19:20

Christine's going to find Scruff at her house isn't she?

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 27/05/2015 19:54

dead or living it up in his own pad?

DadDadDad · 27/05/2015 22:57

newtom has been told to make his voice more distinctive

Really? I thought he sounded more like Charlie than ever, not just the sound but the way he phrases things. I'd love to hear a dialogue between C and T if only to find out surreal that would sound.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 27/05/2015 23:01

he's dropping his t's and trying to rollercoaster his voice a lot more. i thought he sounded very self conscious

trouble is that they are so identically voiced that he's going to have to go further and charlie is going to have to go more cut glass

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 27/05/2015 23:05

maybe we should have an episode with only charlie, tom and the fairbrothers

would make great radio....

TopazRocks · 27/05/2015 23:09

Newtom sounded very like his dad tonight, I thought. All very confusing anyway. Auntie will never leave he stables if she finds a dead scruff on her ''good' rug. Oh dear.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 27/05/2015 23:24

but that opens the cottage up for newcomers (or the grundys once hazel evicts them)

ZeroFunDame · 27/05/2015 23:41

Scruff will be fine. (I hope.) Weak but fine. First she'll call Lynda, then she'll call Alistair, then Lynda will take him home to the Dower House.

Which brings me back to the Amside question. Previously the business needed the full time efforts (with golf and shopping breaks) of three people - just to keep going. So how on earth is one grief stricken Lillian, not on the premises, able to run it by herself?

Hope she won't mind a dog in the house ... Perhaps that will be the cue for Lynda and Robert to move back to Ambridge Hall.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 27/05/2015 23:52

He was last seen quite a while ago - what's he been living off?

More likely a family in grange spinner have adopted him assuming he's stray an there will be a tug of love battle

ppeatfruit · 28/05/2015 09:27

BertrandRussell and enoch Thinking about it why would Hell even entertain going out with a bloke like Rob, let alone speak at his farms' open day? I reckon that he did a lot of 'pretending to be green' when he was courting her.

She was so blinded by lust she didn't think it through and now she's so desperate for a family of her own she's still not rational (maybe she just isn't rational Grin)

He reminds me of our dear Prime Minister; a complete liar, saying want he thinks people want to hear.

Icimoi · 28/05/2015 09:37

I do hope Shula or Jolene or someone is going to slap Kenton around the head and tell him to stop being so bloody stupid. Where does he get off with all this misplaced pride and "We can look after ourselves" when the whole bloody mess arises because he was freeloading on money he didn't have?

mummytime · 28/05/2015 09:53

Icimoi - yes Kenton was poisonous last night - and poor David, it wasn't his idea he was talked into it by Shula.

Iwantacampervan · 28/05/2015 10:59

Scruff will have been living off scones and the casseroles that Jill kept taking round for Aunty Cardboard.

ppeatfruit · 28/05/2015 11:08

IIRC Auntie C mentioned she's been there once, so would've found Scruff if he was there Grin

ZeroFunDame · 28/05/2015 11:13

He might have arrived since the last time she was there. Poor thing would have gone to Ambridge Hall first and found no one to welcome him ...

He's probably been eating the rats that floated through with the flood debris. Grin

enochroot · 28/05/2015 11:48

He could have turned ferral and be living off rabbits and rodents. I still have hope for a happy ending for Scruff.
Helen leapt on the first seemingly single man with a pulse and abandoned all for the security she thought he offered.

squeaver · 28/05/2015 13:07

There are too many mentions of Scruff for him not to be making a reappearance soon. Is it too much to hope that he's been guarding some vital piece of culvert evidence? "What's that Scruff? You saw Rob block the culvert? And you've kept his piece of corrugated iron with his prints on it?"

Isn't the point with Hellin doing the presentation that Knob won't have cleared it with Charlie and something will go wrong? OR Charlie will praise her to skies, she'll get a taste for working life again and Knob will add another padlock to the Aga.

They really missed a trick not having Pat's reaction.

rumbelina · 28/05/2015 13:18

I'm new to this thread.... what does BOOP mean and what is 'the film'?

songbird · 28/05/2015 13:30

Welcome rumbelina, you won't regret joining us!

BOOP is named after poster BitOutOfPractice who complained we were all getting too negative about the storylines in The Archers (or TA!). So now when we're happy with a particular storyline or convo between characters we give it a BOOP point or Star.

The Film is another name for the Omnibus. Someones mother, aunt or granny used to call it The Film Grin.

I'm sure there's a glossary somewhere...

songbird · 28/05/2015 13:38

Aha! Glossary for our daft acronyms and nicknames here

trevortrevorslatterfry · 28/05/2015 13:48

Awwww I was getting all excited there thinking that Scruff must have reappeared (I'm not listening at the moment) but is it just all speculation on your part, dear Archers thread colleagues?

ZeroFunDame · 28/05/2015 13:53

OMG. I have divined Helen's future.

She has farm management qualifications.

And experience.

And she's enegised by running a business.

Efficient (away from Rob).

Energetic (away from Rob).

Will do brilliantly with Mega-Farm Sunday.

Star Star Star

Helen's going to get Rob's job.

enochroot · 28/05/2015 13:59

Well someone's going to get Rob's job!
I doubt if he'll survive much longer after Sunday, one way or another.
