Is Ed's wedding very soon?

OP posts:
HapShawl · 17/05/2015 16:36

re the best man thing, tbh in RL it would be pretty impressive for the brother/exh to even go to the wedding, let alone be the best man!

enochroot · 17/05/2015 18:19

Was there a wee hintette that Charlie might step in as best man?

'I've known Ed for much less time than most of the people here but I know him to be brave and reliable, hard-working and resourceful, well liked and respected so it gives me great pleasure.......'

R4 · 17/05/2015 18:30

Oh, Olivia, you missed an opportunity there. Whilst David was resting his eyes because he was over-tired, you should have whispered a suggestion in his ear that it was his duty to come on MN. It's what Phil would have done.Grin

lljkk · 17/05/2015 18:38

It would make more sense for Will to walk Emma down the aisle and 'give her away'

^^ This

ZeroFunDame · 17/05/2015 19:14

I don't think Stefan will last till Tuesday.

He'll have a mysterious accident ...

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 17/05/2015 19:16

Er what? Has Emma had a personality transplant?

This SL is so bad. I can only imagine there will be some big dramatic rapprochement but its all so artificial.

enochroot · 17/05/2015 19:34

Stefan will mysteriously disappear before Tuesday. Rob will have a vicious rant about unreliable migrants. Helen will offer him a consoling extra portion of lentil bake.

Or, Stefan will survive to meet David and Jennifer. Rob will be arrested at the wedding and be able to avoid Helen forcing him to choose her lentil bake instead of the hog roast.

Crikeyblimey · 17/05/2015 19:44

Or - Stephan will meet D & J, spill the beans, Rob gets arrested but Ed takes the rap for it and is 'disappeared' by BL the day of the wedding. Will consoles Emmur and history repeats itself 'with a twist'???

MmeMorrible · 17/05/2015 19:49

Hmm distinct lack of actual evidence of Rob's wrongdoing though - it's all circumstantial. Not that it would stop the scriptwriters. What would his crime be? Criminal damage/negligence?

toldmywrath · 17/05/2015 20:21

Film listener checking in. I was just going to wing it on the bird puns & thought I might remonstrate with Olivia who only had to sparrow second to ask Deevid for a web chat- but,no. Not a peep! Wink
Thanks for the extremely entertaining thread this week, shame about TA show itself.

EBearhug · 17/05/2015 21:27

I'm not against the idea of lentil bake. But it seemed a strange menu choice to celebrate the return of beef farming. You'd think a nice bit of something like beef would have been more appropriate.

And still no one is saying, "But why would you want your wife-to-be's ex-husband as your best man?"

I also don't mind the birding storyline. I mean, it is tedious, but it's at least true to character, and credible, and they do have dull storylines like this from time to time, which is okay, because life is dull from time to time. And I'm curious to know how it will pan out. (I am worried about my well-being.)

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 17/05/2015 23:42

I thought the lentil bake was a clumsy way to remind us that they are a bit hippy at bridge farm

ErrolTheDragon · 18/05/2015 00:03

I caught a bit of the film this morning and did enjoy jazzer on the lentil bake, something like 'just a wee portion would float an airship'.Grin

highkickindandy · 18/05/2015 02:50

on the bright side, Rob might be so incommoded by the 3 lentil bake he sends Helen back to work full time rather than run the risk of any more lunches........

Bluestocking · 18/05/2015 08:52

I can't believe the SWs think two women would go and buy a dress for a third woman without her being there to try it on.

dairyfarmerswife · 18/05/2015 08:56

Totally agree bluestocking . bonkers!

R4 · 18/05/2015 09:04

Totally agree. Especially when one of the women is Caroline who is normally portrayed as overworked and uber-stressed.
Why does she have to go in person - can't she get something off the interweb? Or several things, so Clarrie has some choice and a say in the matter.

This wedding is getting madder and madder.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 18/05/2015 09:46

And the wedding is on a Friday so are we going to end up with some great big cliffhanger - maybe the church bell will fall on someone and we will only find out on Sunday

Or will the brothers have an unrealistic heart to heart which ends in a man hug an sobs of 'I love you, man'

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 18/05/2015 09:53

I'm still a little confused about Emma - she's always been bitchy towards will and nic and though they had a truce after poppy was born they were never friends.

So what was all that about her praising wills cricket playing and being thick as thieves with nic? I'm so confused!!!

ZeroFunDame · 18/05/2015 10:28

The cliffhanger will be on Thursday ...

And right now Rob is faking a suicide note for Stefan ...

squeaver · 18/05/2015 10:31

So has Stefan been introduced so that Ed doesn't get the whole blame for The Great Culvert Reckoning?

minkGrundy · 18/05/2015 10:39

I think Emmur has been a bit nicer to.Will since he let them the cottage. But it is still all completely implausible.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 18/05/2015 10:50

Maybe Stefan will be best man

ZeroFunDame · 18/05/2015 10:58

In a wooden suit?

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 18/05/2015 10:59

concrete boots
