I'm not sure that ferrets cannot through a thumb sized hole - rats can, and mice can fit through a pen sized hole. But I know the SWs will have researched such a statement carefully Easter Wink

I wondered about the "another half hour" for dinner..... I really thought she was getting a backbone at the beginning of the row but by the end she was caving in again :(

ErrolTheDragon · 21/04/2015 17:20

Oddly enough, I haven't opened a can of beans for ages but tonight DD wanted feeding as soon as she got in and asked for some.

Carrying on from yesterday's ornithological observation, today I heard several chiffchaffs. Grin

Oh - didn't Tom sometimes heat up one of his ready meals for Kirsty?

Brenda, I think. After a hard day re-arranging the paperclips at Amside, she would be too exhausted to cook. I'm all in favour of couples taking turns to cook but Tom was working all the hours there were and doing a lot of manual labour, so I could understand that he was often too tired to cook, but I was always a bit flummoxed about what was so tiring in Brenda's day.

How on earth is Charlie going to manage flirting with both Pip and Adam at once?Shock

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 21/04/2015 19:11

Haven't listened for ages. Pip is still rubbish. Still can't recognise her or Charlie without being told. Pip is super dooper annoying. Hope she gets a job in the Far East of Europe for as long as possible.

And what is it with joe and the weird clothing. Is it supposed to be funny - like the kitchen saga

Why didn't Eddie ask fallon to upcycle the sideboard? I'm sure she could distress it to high hell (as per joe - tat you're trying to sell on - love it!!)

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 21/04/2015 19:15

I think pip sounds more like her dad than Adam does. At times.

David and Ruth should be looking at josh to take on the farm as pip is going to 'modernise' it to an inch of its life

MaraThonbar · 21/04/2015 20:24

Tom used to cook a lot when he was trying out eleventy billion ways with pork for his ready meals.

ErrolTheDragon · 21/04/2015 21:32

Oh yes, that's right. Tom was developing pork god-knows-what, and Brenda was tired from a long commute (which can be knackering). IIRC there were so many references to her tiredness that people were speculating if she was pregnant.

TheOnlyOliviaMumsnet · 21/04/2015 22:20

Sorry haven't RTFT yet as have been away and had no sodding broadband so couldn't listen
THINK am up to date.
ROB was being partic creepy with Tom

DoctorTwo · 22/04/2015 04:09

I wonder whether NewPip will be written out and replaced again...

Minimammoth · 22/04/2015 08:45

Oh yes yes purlease . Can she go somewhere far far away, to learn primitive farming methods in Borneo or something, in a compare and contrast with methods on, say a space station.

I must say I liked the seeds they sowed (end of 2013?) of Jess being the natural Ambridge resident. So it would be very fitting if, once Rob is driven out by an angry mob, Jess (with Ethan) could return to the village and become a proper character.

Re the recasting of Pip - perhaps we've been misdirected and the important drama training is currently being bestowed on OldScreechyPip. So after the impending gap year we'll have the original back?

enochroot · 22/04/2015 10:01

It looks like Charlie is encouraging Pip to go away somewhere so he's doing us all a favour.
Have I said I like Charlie? Grin

Will Rob's salary be docked this month or does he have a breather while the test is being done?

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 22/04/2015 10:18

Jess is only allowed to become a regular if they recast her with someone who can actually act!!!

ZeroFunDame · 22/04/2015 10:22

There is that ...

CuttedUpPear · 22/04/2015 11:10

Was there ever any explanation as to what happened to Anthea, the Amside secretary?

Surely she must have arrived for work asper usual. In Lil's state of denial as was, she wouldn't have got round to ringing her to tell her not to come in, let alone arranging termination of contract.

So that's two businesses left in the ether, with Ambridge Organics helpfully packing itself away without any input from Helen?

Apparently you just don't turn up to run the business and all the paperwork sorts itself out....

ZeroFunDame · 22/04/2015 11:21

I think there was an aside from Lillian mentioning that she'd had to let Anthea go ... But no winding up of the business afaik. Presumably running itself?Confused

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 22/04/2015 12:20

Didn't Anthea say (according to Lilian) that she didn't want to stay as she wasn't happy with all the uncertainty/upheaval? Great shame, as she was a good character (and well acted). Sad

ZeroFunDame · 22/04/2015 12:33

Oh yes - that was it exactly.

I don't like to think about how they've dismantled the entire Dower House story.Sad No doubt their purpose will be revealed eventually ...

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 22/04/2015 13:27

Good point cutted - what has happened to AO with no manager? Or are we supposed to believe Helen is managing it remotely.

Don't know why they didn't give it to anya

Travelledtheworld · 22/04/2015 13:35

I know two farmers wives who left their husbands because they didn't want to be the good wife at home chained to the oven any longer. They both cleared off before they had any children.

I used to be housekeeper for a farming family and they deemed me the perfect wife because I could produce a hot lunch every day of the week.
( while the real wife went shopping) .

I didn't marry a farmer......

ppeatfruit · 22/04/2015 15:55

Strange that Pip never mentions global warming and the effect that all the massive machines and technology has on the amount of power being used. Are they all deniers in college these days?
