Is that a ferret in your (Gr)undies or are you just pleased to see me? Discuss The Archers vermin (so many possibilities!) here.

I'm not sure that ferrets cannot through a thumb sized hole - rats can, and mice can fit through a pen sized hole. But I know the SWs will have researched such a statement carefully Easter Wink

Did they ever reopen AO after the flood? I suspect they didn't.

ZeroFunDame · 22/04/2015 16:50

Did the flood waters go all the way to Borchester?

enochroot · 22/04/2015 16:54

I was taken aback by the arrogance of Pip saying, 'I have a farm to modernise.' Are her parents and siblings to have no say in this?

ZeroFunDame · 22/04/2015 16:58

I'm ashamed to say it's just the sort of stupid thing I used to say at that age. BlushGrin

enochroot · 22/04/2015 17:41

Perhaps it's the age she sounds against the age she is that makes me forget to make allowances, zero.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 22/04/2015 18:29

Yes, the emergency services were so busy in Borchester that they didn't have time to get to Ambridge till the next day.

Tell us more about your farm, Zero! How did the modernisation go? Grin

ZeroFunDame · 22/04/2015 18:38

Grin I was, coincidentally, spending rather a lot of time on a farm when I was Pip's age - but the reckless arrogance was more to do with my post-university career (which didn't involve farming.)

But seriously - did I completely miss hearing that the floods had closed Ambridge Organics?

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 22/04/2015 19:08

I thought Shula was at bridge farm for a minute.

What was Helen taking to rob?

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 22/04/2015 19:14

This over interest in dan bodes badly for an eastenders style storyline

Alastair sounds really down. His wife inviting her former lover round for lunch isn't going to be popular

ZeroFunDame · 22/04/2015 19:18

Shock BYOS - surely Dan must look like Mark?

ErrolTheDragon · 22/04/2015 19:19

I don't think AO was affected by the flood. I'm pretty sure there was some reference last week maybe to Anya and someone temporary keeping it ticking over or suchlike.

ErrolTheDragon · 22/04/2015 19:20

What was Helen taking to rob?
Good question - either The Letter or a hamper for his afternoon tea.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 22/04/2015 19:21

That won't stop soc!!!

Hands up who would be pleased and willing to discuss your spouse inviting the person they almost left you for round for lunch?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 22/04/2015 19:52

It really does beggar belief, doesn't it? I have the impression from previous dialogue that Richard is now back on terms with Usha too. Really? Really????? Hmm I suppose he might be so thick-skinned that he thinks it's all fine between them.....

stilllearnin · 22/04/2015 20:00

It may be me being a meany but some kind of snog off involving Usha, shula, Richard, and alistair will be the dullest event in the history of TA. I cannot get excited about any of them. I missed the start - did we hear any musings by H about the shop or did we launch straight into the meeting?

mummytime · 22/04/2015 21:03

I think it was definitely something that looked like it could have been "the letter" that Helen took to Rob.

Icimoi · 22/04/2015 23:05

Has anyone put up the link to Nancy B-S' latest? It's here

Hakluyt · 22/04/2015 23:12

How would she have known it wasThe Letter? It presumably doesn't come in an envelope with Paternity Test Results printed on it?

BitOutOfPractice · 22/04/2015 23:16

I would've thought that if one was expecting such an important letter, you'd be pretty much scrutinising the envelopes wouldn't you? I know who 90% of my mail is from before I open it.

ZeroFunDame · 22/04/2015 23:20

Even if it didn't have the name of the institution on the front it would definitely have a return address on the back - as with a bank statement say. And it probably also had "For addressee only" somewhere.

minkGrundy · 23/04/2015 00:57

Sure there was a mention of someone temporarily overseeing AO.

I missed the taking something to Rob thing. Must LA.

enochroot · 23/04/2015 01:14

He could flip completely if she turns up at his work with every envelope that arrives addressed to him then and hovers anxiously, oozing supportiveness while he opens it.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 23/04/2015 07:02

I missed all that taking something to Rob bit too, must also LA!

Thanks for A Month In Ambridge, Icimoi, utterly brilliant as always! I suppose I haven't noticed the absence of the election from Ambridge because it's such a relief to have 12.5 minutes of respite from it.

I can't help thinking we will be disappointed on the knob front. I don't know why, I can just feel it. I wonder how a negative test can move that storyline on?
