Rejoice, for the Dopeys are staying in Ambridge to feast on Oedipal flapjacks. Or at least David is. Discuss The Archers here.

Will Peggy make it to the end of this thread?

X'ed!

TopazRocks · 03/03/2015 19:30

They can't have Helen grieving for a deaded partner again surely. I do wonder though if his inevitable legging it will be precipitated by not getting the lodge now, but it does seem too soon to have him go. Except if Soc has got a bit bored with the EA SL. Please, what did happen with Rob tonight?

Iwantacampervan · 03/03/2015 19:31

Was there an Ambridge resident who didn't get a mention tonight?

Why was Rob so insistent on getting the shop stock saved - surely he should have been thinking more about livestock if he didn't want to deal with people ? Has anyone asked David about the Brookfield cows?

LillianGish · 03/03/2015 19:31

Is it still Saturday? Big BOOP for the silent characters continuing in silence through the drama - that's what TA is all about. Hurray for not bringing in loads of random firemen and paramedics. Much easier to follow than the Otto debacle.

R4 · 03/03/2015 19:31

Why did we have to hear the drama as it happened, all garbled and making no sense. It would make better radio to have gossipy reports amongst the villagers, full of description, after the event. And we would still be in real time too. Not still in Saturday on Tuesday.
Awful. I'm cross.

DayLillie · 03/03/2015 19:34

Agh!!!!!!!! Gave up on it.

We are stuck in a time loop, and floods are so Last Year Hmm

Wake me up when they catch up with today zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

enochroot · 03/03/2015 19:35

Robs alive then?

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 03/03/2015 19:36

Was Usha mentioned? Caroline was, don't think Oliver was. Heard nothing about Bridge Farm or Home Farm. Joe, Ed, Emma, George, Keira, Will, Nic, Jake, Mia, the baby whose name I've forgotten, Susan, Mike, Vicky, Beth, Roy - any of them mentioned? May have to listen again to get some sort of grip on proceedings.

CuttedUpPear · 03/03/2015 19:37

What is the purpose of Rob's head injury?
Leverage for blackmailing Shula?
Finally knocked some sense into him?

And why was Auntie Cardboard eating shepherd's pie at the stables - is this a regular thing?

LillianGish · 03/03/2015 19:38

Where did Rob get the boat from?

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 03/03/2015 19:41

Shula's elderly aunt who lives alone and used to own the stables, taught Shula to ride, goes to the church (I think) - I suppose they must be close.

minkGrundy · 03/03/2015 19:43

Rob's head injury is so helen can fawn over him and possible excuse for psycho behaviour.

We're still not very late into the night on timeline so mst be set to continue.

Is nightingale not Will and Nic?

minkGrundy · 03/03/2015 19:48

Oh no nightingale belongs to Matt and is let to unnamed incomer

PseudoBadger · 03/03/2015 19:48

I'm afraid I was laughing. I'm fully expecting zombies on the approach tomorrow.

Olivia. We NEED him on a webchat. Entice him with poisoned biscuits.

TopazRocks · 03/03/2015 19:51

Oh arr, just read the time line and slightly the wiser. I imagine Brookfield will still get to milk their cows as Ed has some milking kit going spare these days, no? And David will come to his senses as he realises how old isn't necessarily best after all. Presumably will take longer as they have more coos than Ed had? Blimey, it's a week's worth isn't it? We will get to Monday on Friday ..... Noooooooooooo! Alan did say to someone ?Jill - 'thanks for checking on the vicarage'. But why didn't he say 'Usha'?

PseudoBadger · 03/03/2015 19:53

So how will they catch up to present day? At some stage they'll have to just lose several days in one go. Oooh it could be a sci-Fi event like in Flash Forward. Does anyone remember that series?

OP posts:
LillianGish · 03/03/2015 19:56

Maybe they'll do it from the point of view of Knob who will be knocked out cold for seval days and wake up to find it's the end of the week.

Postchildrenpregranny · 03/03/2015 19:57

Alan said the water was coming into the vicarage kitchen and Usha was doing her best

anythingforaquietnight · 03/03/2015 20:00

blimey MrQuiet has emerged from the shed to complain about the 2-dimensional quality of the characterisation - you know something is seriously wrong when MrQ feels the need to leave the shed to pass comment

TopazRocks · 03/03/2015 20:00

Nic and Will at Casa Nueva aka Greenwood Cottage???? Was that not also Gamekeeper's Cottage?? where Greg lived?

TopazRocks · 03/03/2015 20:05

I'm glad Alan mentioned Usha - all is right in the world. Smile Mr Quiet aint wrong is all I can say, thought they do have their occasional moments which presumably is why there are still some listeners.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 03/03/2015 20:10

Lovely insight into the Quiet household there! Mr Mimsy (non-listener) is keeping well out of the way at 7.02pm at the moment but it's to no avail, I give him a blow by blow account of what's happened at 7.15pm. Grin

Abra1d · 03/03/2015 20:15

Ed and family were mentioned as being evacuated by, I think, David, though you'd think Ed would be helping with the evacuation itself.
