Nice blog interview with Ed.

He says exactly what Mimsy has said about Emma!

BitOutOfPractice · 08/02/2015 12:24

still I never ever EVER look at actors' pictures. It always upsets me

toldmywrath · 08/02/2015 13:34

mrsmootoo Thought you'd like to know that I signed the e petition a few days ago, but I've just popped over to sign my DH as well.
I'm off to post a not so random photo once I find my phone.
I really like Eddie - I think he's a brilliant supportive dad, poor Ed.

My old milk bottle Smile

Poor Joe.Sad

Bea · 08/02/2015 19:10

Oh shut up pip! Spending money like there's no tomorrow!
It'll end in tears!!

Selks · 08/02/2015 19:13

Pip is so annoying!

Selks · 08/02/2015 19:15

"Something" is going to happen to Ed. Either 'the end' - suicide, or gets run over by a tractor, or (less likely) a windfall or lucky break of some sort - although the latter might be wishful thinking on my part.

R4 · 08/02/2015 19:46

I didn't like Joe's "nothing stays the same anymore" message.
Was he talking to Ed or to us?
Sad

CuttedUpPear · 08/02/2015 20:35

I want Ed to find out after he's sold his cows that they have been bought by Oliver and are on their way back to Grange Farm.

LillianGish · 08/02/2015 20:53

Is it possible that finding out about the old dairy is going change David's whole approach to dairy farming? Was he just being nostalgic or does he really think there might be another way? I couldn't decide - I don't know enough about it (in spite of years of listening to TA Grin) Can someone with genuine farming knowledge please tell me - the utter joy of this thread is that I know before long someone will be along to do just that.
I also thought sink hole, sink hole again tonight. Why else would the weather in Ambridge be so at odds with the weather elsewhere? Someone is really trying to make the point that it has been pouring forever and there must be a reason for that.

Bluestocking · 08/02/2015 20:56

My contribution to Ambridge: The Musical! is a version of Bali Hai from South Pacific. I need help with the second half though!

Most people live in a little village
Threatened with bisection by Route B.
One fam'ly longs for an escape route
To a dream life funded by Justin E.

Hadley Hough may call you
Any night, any day,
Ruth and Dave, you'll hear it call you:
"Come away...Come away."

Hadley Hough will whisper
In the lowing of the herd
"Here am I, just right for robots
Leave everyone else right in the merde."

minkGrundy · 08/02/2015 20:57

I wondered if the open air dairy/direct selling might be a way forwards for Ed but his is pretty much open air already isn't with a bail? But he does buy feed. Would it be practical for the cows to be out all the time?

stilllearnin · 08/02/2015 21:05

I know. I shall never be tempted onto the BBC site again - dd was ill and I was in bed 'looking after her'! So glad about the rain tonight as I told my mum only today that it was always raining in Ambridge and there would be a sink hole. How would open air farming help Ed? Is it that it would be so contrary to Berrow Farm that it could be a hit? Is that at all likely?

GypsyFloss · 08/02/2015 21:14

Hope Pip falls down that sinkhole. Her profligate spending is getting mightily annoying.

EBearhug · 08/02/2015 21:16

I assume though that she can't actually sign any cheques or online payments for the farm.

GypsyFloss · 08/02/2015 21:53

No I'd imagine not. She can however pester them senseless until they just give in to shut her up Grin

enochroot · 08/02/2015 23:06

The crafty minx will know the on-line banking passwords!

Rain? What rain? Here we still have snow frozen hard.

CuttedUpPear · 08/02/2015 23:10

I think the rain might be an attempt to predict the weather patterns following the past few years where we have seen lots of counties, particularly Somerset, under water for weeks.

A big miss though.

ErrolTheDragon · 08/02/2015 23:12

When they were forward-planning the plot they seem to have forgotten that there's quite often a cold dry spell around now. The deluge must be necessary to their plot, they're not usually quite so at odds with reality otherwise.

Lets hope that whatever it is causes Dave to rethink, somehow involve Ed and aquire Mikes milk business etc etc. Pip will be disgusted by the downfall of her northern empire-building plans and defect to Berrow farm... probably a bit young to oust Rob from his position, unfortunately. (I don't like Pip but he's obviously worse and being replaced by a young woman would be so galling to him)

Pipbin · 08/02/2015 23:21

I missed tonight's episode. Sink hole? Seriously? Where?

ErrolTheDragon · 08/02/2015 23:32

We have deduced that there must be a sink-hole or simliar and presume that it will play a pivotal point in the plotting. There was an incident a while back where David and Jill were driving along a track somewhere and it partly fell into a hole that hadn't been there before (something like that). And a spring on Ed's land disappeared. Think there's been some other odd water-related events, and now Ambridge has its own localised deluge.
