This is too much for me now. I need to meditate.

Not a great basis for a marriage if you're hiding financial stuff from your wife to be.

simbacatlivesgain · 19/01/2015 19:17

working family tax credit
housing benefit

doesn't seem to exist in Ambridge

BoreOfWhabylon · 19/01/2015 19:26

Missed the beginning. What happened with the Dopeys?

And welcome to the new threadmates!

BringYourOwnSnowman · 19/01/2015 19:34

well we never hear anything about benefits on the news/from politicians so why would they bother on the archers. i mean it's not like they are trying to be realistic....

GypsyFloss · 19/01/2015 19:40

Bore They need extra time to build the robo-dairy so are going to delay the move and apparently JE is just going to agree to let them stay on for another 3 months as tenants whilst they do this. I do hope JE tells them to fuck right off with that idea.

BringYourOwnSnowman · 19/01/2015 19:44

Me too. They live in deluded la la land.

And apparently heatherpet will understand that it will take another 3 months. And daughter of the year award goes to Ruth Archer

GypsyFloss · 19/01/2015 19:51

Yeah Heatherpet who is so ill that they need to up sticks to be near her...when the cows can come too. PAH!

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 19/01/2015 19:53

Did anyone else hope against hope when the Continuity Announcer said at the start 'And now... a change of plan at Brookfield' that they'd come to their senses and weren't going to move after all?

This storyline has to be the worst I've ever heard on TA, even worse than killing off Nigel. Sad

Re bricks - yes, apparently that was all in the script at the time. Just shows the old days weren't all marvellous...

R4 · 19/01/2015 19:57

Nooooooo. I thought we agreed that it's about time that Ed had a break. Why do the SW hate him so?Sad

Matt has money troubles. Ed has money troubles. These things come in threes so who's next?

GypsyFloss · 19/01/2015 19:58

Oh it'll have to be Kenton 'cos they are singularly lacking in imagination these scriptwriters.

BoreOfWhabylon · 19/01/2015 19:59

Ah, thanks Gypsy. They forgot about being with Heatherpet asap then Grin

enochroot · 19/01/2015 20:04

Even Jill is sounding cynical about their moving plans.

Travelledtheworld · 19/01/2015 20:08

Since we are all so pissed off with current storylines; vanishing characters; crap actors etc can't we organise do a petition/ letter of complaint and send it to SOC ?
Follow up with a PR campaign, social media, letters to Farmers Weekly, interview on Farming Today etc.....

Or would that spoil our endless speculation and debate on this forum ?

Something I was wondering is how much it costs to transport all those cows to the other end of England compared to sending the existing ones to slaughter and buying a new gang once you've arrived at the new farm (and built the parlour). What is the shelf-life of a dairy cow anyway? I assumed 3 years or so, but I know there are others who actually know the facts. Smile

Can someone remind me? What year was Phil widowed? I seem to recall Phil was quite a 'gay' young widower. Keep calm, dear Rob, I mean 'gay' in the traditional sense. Grin He could have fathered a child before he met Jill. Another option is that he was unfaithful to Jill, which would be quite out of character as he seemed very devoted. It certainly would SATTC, unlike Brine, Adam, Rob, etc. who can't keep their zips up really.

I agree about the Russian gangsta possibilities, and blackmail being implicated in Matt's disappearance. I was thinking that last night. Might even have typed it, but certainly thought it. Smile

At least with Jolene Harrison hasn't just met her, so must know what she is like, but I'd cringe too if that scenario played out if I were a guest in anyone's home. I was surprised that Fallon was back at the Bull. Wasn't she renting the flat above the shop?

To add the the lsit above, one family that's not had problems for a while is Alan and Usha and Amy. Though Amy is now running the Borchester mat unit completely single-handedly. HmmI assume next time an Ambridge person has a baby she will pop up again. Please not Fallon, I don't want to hear her whining about being tired, having no time to herself, and all the rest. Shock

BringYourOwnSnowman · 19/01/2015 20:14

I don't think R4 or SOC give a shiny shit what we think

BringYourOwnSnowman · 19/01/2015 20:16

the boiler in fallons flat has broken so they moved back into the bull so Jolene could cop an eyeful of the gorgeous harrison

TopazRocks · 19/01/2015 20:23

Ah right, I must have missed that bit. Does H maybe live chez his very prudish mother so they have to have their 'sleep overs' at the Bull? Smile

Another thought on Helen and her coughing last night. Could that be a pre-curser to Helen getting really unwell, e.g. a bad chest infection, and Rob getting very impatient and then nasty, perhaps physically, if his dinner's not ready and the house is a tip? In stead of a pregnancy SL. I'd hate for Helen to have Rob's child. I'd prefer her and Henry to have a lucky-ish escape. I think they will have suffered enough by the time it all plays out. Sad

mummytime · 19/01/2015 20:24

My 16 year old says "oh my days" but then she is very hot on not blaspheming!

But Ruth and Pip are acting like my teenagers at their worst - and even my teens listen when I say "we're not made of money" etc.

BringYourOwnSnowman · 19/01/2015 20:32

Tbf Rob was very good when henry had chickenpox and Helen fell to pieces

My 7 yo has started saying 'Jesus' as an expression of shock. I have no idea where he got it from but have been trying to get him to say 'gosh' instead. I blame the school!

TopazRocks · 19/01/2015 20:39

Rob WAS good over the very severe bout of pox Henry had, but I am not convinced he's going to be patient for ever. And he is more stressed now over Jess and the CSA claim, and the CP worked to his advantage as it helped Helen to decide to leave then shop in Tina's, ahem, capable hands.

BringYourOwnSnowman · 19/01/2015 20:45

I don't know, if I were him I would be the perfect boyfriend when she is sick now so she feels even more dependent on him and grateful. Everyone will be telling her how good he is and how lucky she is

PhaedraIsMyName · 19/01/2015 20:48

JE is just going to love being asked to pay for the farm but not get access for 3 months.

I'm assuming he'll say no. Unless he is a 100 % cash buyer any lender may well say no too.

Pip is truly awful.

BringYourOwnSnowman · 19/01/2015 20:55

why would he say yes? if he does then the SL is even more ridiculous.

So he will say no and the dopeys will be full of angst and 'oooooh, noooooo' from Ruth and Pip will rail about the injustice of it all. Maybe she will storm round and confront Charlie (er, this is a personal purchase and nothing to do with Damara so why is Charlie involved at all?) and end up shagging him because he's actually bi

BringYourOwnSnowman · 19/01/2015 20:57

Tbf, he could let them keep the cows but demand they move out of brookfield so he can bulldoze it. that would be good - they'd be stuck there for 3 months seeing their home slowly dismantled.

Bluestocking · 19/01/2015 21:11

That "oh my days!" from Pip was so bogus. My (rather young for her age) twenty-something colleague was saying it two years ago but I haven't heard it for ages. I wondered if Jill was going to find a stash of ultra-valuable vintage collectable love-eggs and dildoes treasures in the attic?
