I've really enjoyed the last episodes. Phoebe is quite an asset, I agree. I also think the eps this week have been slower and less action-packed, with fewer different scenes, I think, and this had enhanced it. BOOP, BOOP, BOOOOOP.

The pole barn is built on Grundy's Field which is about 3.5 acres that Joe bought with some money he got for giving up the milk quota when they left Grange Farm. Linda wouldn't let them build on the field but David found out they could put a barn up if they owned/leased 10 acres or more (not completely sure of my figures here) and let them rent some acres from Brookfield. Said acres have never been mentioned since so probably haven't been thought of in the Brookfield sale scenario. I wish we could hear Lyndie muttering "At least Brookfield going will mean I can get Joe and Eddie to tear down that monstrosity"

Most property developers are bold investors which is to say they have lots of things mortgaged to the hilt. Remember buy-to-let is normally acquired with minimum size deposit & interest-only mortgage to minimise capital gains taxes. Her finances may be complex to say the least.

Business wise she could probably sell a few properties and once those mortgages are clear hopefully have made a capital gain too.

However, it still doesn't explain where all her pre matt money has gone as tiger wasn't into sharing and Lillian was never foolish enough to invest all her money in the business

They've been listening to people's complaints perhaps and have engineered Lil's ruin at short notice to keep the Archers at Brookfield. Or someone in senior management has put his foot down. The rental/milking parlour stuff has been a delaying tactic while SOC does a re-think. Heatherpet will SOTMC this summer just to put the tin lid on it completely.

Lilian you've hit the nail on the head, it absolutely does sound like The Archers! There have been some cracking episodes over the past few days.

I too find it hard to believe that Pusscat is strapped for cash. Maybe in a cashflow sense but surely she's got assets stashed somewhere. Matt wasn't allowed to have his name of stuff after the prison sentence so she must still own Amside.
