What's your favourite podcast?

I'm looking for inspiration, please. I've worked my way through all of No Such Thing As A Fish with the QI Elves, and I'm waiting very impatiently for the next episode of Serial. So, what are you listening to that you recommend?

Th Reith Lectures on BBC radio 4 this year will be good. First one out now.

Yes, I've been listening to the Grayson Perry Reith Lectures, they are really good.

I would really recommend the smash hit podcast called Serial. It's utterly compelling.

The Bugle which is hopefully going to be done more regularly now John Oliver is on a break. It's good if you like news satire type stuff.

The Nerdist is great if you pick and choose which ones to go for (ie people you've heard of generally!). You also need to get past the fact that the host is also fairly well known for other stuff in America so often it's about him talking as well. You get some great ones though, and some that open your eyes as to what people are really like looking at you Joseph Gorden Levitt you astonishing luvvie

If you're enjoying Serial, I've been getting my fix listening to Slate's serial spoilers. Damn you thanksgiving for making them miss an episode!

I like the 'In Our Time' podcasts that R4 have too. Very random topics, but interesting.

I've run out of them now, but a Radio 4 programme called Soul Music. Each programme is about a different piece of music - some pop, some classical, whatever - and people talk about the music and what it means to them. I manage to cry just about every time - listening to the programme on "Don't Leave Me This Way" on a flight to Mallorca was a low point - we're talking wracking sobs.

Another vote for The Bugle. Has me cackling like a loon when I'm playing it at the gym. I expect I look like i'm laughing at other people's gymly efforts.

This American Life is ace as is In Our Time but that does take all your attention, you have to keep up. 99% Invisible about all things design is great too. I also have a soft spot for Stuff You Should KNow, The rather creepy macabre world of Nightvale is also worth a go.

Thanks all, loads to keep me going there. I listen to podcasts mainly when I'm running lots of them look like they'll keep me plodding along.

I love:

Start Up - gimlet media (Alex blumberg, ex this American life doing a podcast on starting up a small business - to make podcasts).

reply all - also gimlet media, but on a different tech based subject each week. Short but interesting.

Tim Ferriss show - he calls it deconstructing excellence. He interviews someone different each podcast who is amazing at what they do and tries to extract what it is that makes them brilliant.

This American Life. Just because I love Ira Glass and the randomness of the each story.

Invisibilia- on a different topic each time, the invisible forces that change human behaviour. Last one was computers. Fascinating.

That's my current favourites list but I'm always trying new podcasts.

Another vote for This American Life!

Really enjoying it.

I love R4 comedy, but prefer the News Quiz to The Now Show.

Oh, and obviously total archers addict.

I have just discovered podcastsso watching with interest.

I'm a big fan of One Bad Mother - it's about motherhood/parenting/pregnancy but more importantly it's just funny and witty women supporting each other.

I love the Bugle too, and must admit I'm partial to Scott Mills daily catch up show from R1 just because I can't stand the music he plays but I've got a soft spot for him and Chris!
