A big showdown tonight I hope.

Thanks to Zero (I think?) for the great title.

OP posts:

Um - H is still going to nursery part-time?

Much as I love the idea of him being tied up outside the shop with a bowl of water, I fear the obvious explanation will have to suffice

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 14/10/2014 23:10

But why would she send him after making such a big deal of her being jealous of him being there? And after rob laid it on with a trowel 'he misses his mummy'

The far more obvious answer is that he is the anti Christ and he was silently peddling his trike up and down outside the shop while glaring.

unitarian · 15/10/2014 01:13

Zero I accept most of your revisions but not the absence of Ian!
Surely he's Adam's plus 1.

Lizzie has refused all along to pass an opinion about The Road and Freddie doesn't like that stance.
Maybe she can charm Justin into changing his mind on road and digester so she becomes the saviour of the village, scandal will slide off her as though she's Teflon-coated, Frilly will love her again and Brookfield will be forever Archer.
Heather Pet will just have to take her chances.

GypsyFloss · 15/10/2014 05:44

unitarian I will be very pissed off if Lizzie manages that but unfortunately it does a ring of truth about it.

Eastpoint · 15/10/2014 08:03

Lizzie is pretty ruthless, maybe she'll go to a 'conference' and finish Heather off.

PetulaGordino · 15/10/2014 08:35

Is this how she wins back the respect of her children?

PetulaGordino · 15/10/2014 08:36

Not by offing heather obviously!

Saving Brookfield

cheminotte · 15/10/2014 08:46

Helen did say to someone about not sending Henry back to nursery quite yet a week or so ago. If he starts school next Sept I can understand her wanting to spend more time with him prior to that, but also seeing the benefits of nursery at least part time as preparation. Is Keira at nursery, isn't she about the same age as Henry?

LillianGish · 15/10/2014 08:50

Lizzie wants Jill to live at Lower Loxley - I don't think it will be so much about the money for her. it doesn't sound as if Jill has any intention of moving so she might get her way. David won't be able to countenance the idea of moving without his mummy (never mind that only child Ruth has had to to live miles from her mum for all her married life) so that might be the spanner in the works of the move. I think those conflicting interests are an interesting scenario (regardless of how unconvinced we are that this is anything other than a device to spice up the plot - who really believes Brookfield will be sold?). Any only children out there who have an aged parent living miles away will sympathise with Ruth's dilemma -'David can't come close to imagining it as he's always lived a stones throw from mummy and daddy and all his brothers and sisters.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 15/10/2014 08:51

Every new character introduced in the last 6 months has been described as handsome or good looking (plus some of the existing characters seem to have had plastic surgery - Roy)

So I am expecting Justin to be a red faced rotund middle aged man. It can not go on being a village purely populated by hotties.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 15/10/2014 08:53

Also, do you think we have seen the end of pc plot? I hope so but then he really was a plot device which is really annoying.

PetulaGordino · 15/10/2014 08:56

i don't know byos, there was that thing last night about the film showing at arkwright hall. emma couldn't go, so who could fallon possibly go with?

RocknRollNerd · 15/10/2014 08:58

I think they've dusted off all the Pip-the-dreadful-teenager storylines and just done a search and replace with Fallon's name. The writing of her character is really irritating me - she's supposed to be what? late twenties? why is she therefore handling the Harrison thing with all the maturity of a year 6 at a leavers disco (yes I know they're probably proms nowadays but you get my drift).

I suspect Freda is going to throw all the cakes/pastries/fingers out of the freezers and they'll have buggered up this kids party in Felpersham or wherever.

Love the hunt ball scenarios and Carol's truth serum cocktails!

ppeatfruit · 15/10/2014 09:03

Surely 'the dosh' will only be available if the Northumbrian farm is sold. There's no way that R & D could afford a decent size farm with a quarter of what Brookfield's worth? Esp. with Route B going through it (which is the only reason that they WOULD sell Confused).

Ref. Henry he could've been in the buggy.

ref. Fallon; I thought that her reaction was one of the most RL interactions I've heard on TA for a while. Grin

Hakluyt · 15/10/2014 09:09

So do they really think they can sell Brookfield and use the money for their own benefit? Is that even legal? And presumably it will go as development land- if they don't want a farm with a road through it why should anyone else?

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 15/10/2014 09:24

Strange writing last night - lots of hints and false cliff hangers.

Fallon feeling slow and distracted - if it were not for Jess one might wonder why.

The very loud car engine sound as she was driving. I held my breath for the inevitable crash...

I'm unclear about the ownership of Arkwright Hall - is it being set up as a future base for Justin?

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 15/10/2014 09:26

Also what on earth was the thing with the pheasants all over the place. Has something gone wrong?

Hakluyt · 15/10/2014 09:29

And nobody rang Will to tell him- I wondered about that too.

PetulaGordino · 15/10/2014 09:29

it was like danny the champion of the world

LillianGish · 15/10/2014 09:32

I think the inheritance has to pay out with the sale of. Brookfield - otherwise it is meaningless. Presumably the idea is to pass the. Northumbrian farm on to Pip or Josh or whoever wants to farm it so that would be unlikely to be sold in the lifetime of Shula, Kenton etc. I would say the spirit of the inheritance was to keep Brookfield going as a family farm which is what Phil wanted.

LillianGish · 15/10/2014 09:34

I agree Zero - those were significant pheasants foretelling something (a bit like Eddie's fortune-telling turkeys).

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 15/10/2014 09:42

Oh good lord - I hadn't thought of portents... Like whatever it was whose neck Kirstie had to snap shortly before her "wedding"?

Ok. Now I'm scared.

lljkk · 15/10/2014 09:47

Phil left D+R the farm because David was the only farmer among the 4 offspring & farmers need a farm. That was Phil's logic & you'd think Jill would side with D for it.

I have to correct whoever called Phoebe 16/17; she was just 16 in June. Does no one else remember her birth in the yurt at the music festival (foot stamp impatiently)?

I suppose Fallon will be in a terrible road accident (her fault) & PC Plod will be her saviour from the burning car, she'll suddenly see the light what a nice guy he is (& not the creep SWs make him out to be).

I don't understand Brookfield's umbrage about the road. Normally farmers make a packet from compulsory purchase of land or any development and welcome it enthusiastically. Sell that bit, use proceeds to buy a bit elsewhere & farm that chunk of land, build the empire, job done.

PetulaGordino · 15/10/2014 09:52

pheasants leaving the shoot

rats leaving the sinking ship

trevortrevorslattery · 15/10/2014 10:01

zerosome I too was waiting for a crash when Fallon & Emma were driving.. and had the same suspicions about why she was distracted.. surely not though.

Urgh, those flipping Archers are doing my head in as well when they keep saying the move is to "Northumbria".. it's Northumberland GRAH!. Northumbria isn't an actual place / region. Unless you are a tourist marketing board. But surely if your wife is from there then you'd know that.

Petty gripe, I know!

I liked Kenton asking about the cash too.
